@grunch1012 To preserve it. Just be sure to remove the oil when you're going to fire the gun, or the oil could act as an obstruction causing the gun to blow up.
Im new to revolvers. After shooting my sp101 around 100 times. and cleaning it. i noticed that when dryfiring the trigger pull was sort of tough. Also i opened the cylinder and tried to spin it and it wouldnt spin freely.(keep spinning) any tips as to what is wrong? or is that normal?
Wouldn't it be better to clean from the bore to the muzzle with the brush as thats the natural direction of the bullet? Could you put the rod through then attach the brush and pull it backwards?
You definitely could. I imagine that cleaning it from the muzzle to the bore has a minimal (if any effect) on the accuracy of the handgun at the distances its is likely to be used. I believe rifles are typically cleaned from bore to muzzle to avoid damaging the crown which could greatly affect accuracy especially at long ranges. But again since it is a handgun I doubt it would do any harm, especially since the manufacturer suggests cleaning from muzzle to bore... I think :)
I don't own a revolver but I liked this video a lot because there was no hesitation, no messing around. It was straight down to business. Thank you.
