Yes Malmsteen did briefy play for Steeler, but he didn't go solo as you pointed out. He joined Graham Bonnet with Alcatrazz and recorded one studio and one live album before starting the Rising Force band. Alcatrazz made Malmsteen before Steve Vai took over for Alcatrazz's second Studio Album before becoming famous with DLR.

Haha, I'm too old to have ever even watched Teletubbies. I'm about the same age as Pell, had my own band back then as well (and still do). Pell is, IN MY OPINION, not even close to being a master. When even some of his own musicians thinks he's not good (heard it first hand). Everyone's entitled to an opinion, you like him, I don't. Quite simple.

Great Version rocks! Great players here love the double kick work on the kit and guitar kudos to you. All the more reason for all the more popular bands to make a tribute recording of these guys. These guys were more a inspiration to the musicians that understood true classic talent than the average music listener! I always thought of Riot as a musicians band. Kick ass stuff!

I understand why some prefer this version as it's a lot heavier but IMHO, the vocals and guitar in the original are far superior.

This is not to put down Axel but just my opinion. From what I can hear. the lead guitarist misses some notes as the original appears to be too fast for him.

Guy Speranza's voice was original and unmistakable. Check out Riot's "Rock City" or "49er" to see what I mean.

Axel sounds to me like many other rock vocalists.
