Why does it look like there walking/marching in snow and breathing mist from there mouths such as a winters day?If its June?. Lovely piece of film tho , thanks for the upload.
in 100 years youtube will probably be archived and everyone who goes on it will see what internet life was like in the 2000s and the eery feeling of lifes passed by
When I see old footage like this from the late 19th Century in American Cities I honestly first think of old coins and currency for they truly personify the times!!!!
The weird thing is that there are still a few people in the world maybe less than 100 that was alive when this was made. After all the record for the oldest person alive is currently held at 130. So it would be safe to say there are still a few out there that may have been kids when this happened.
It's just plain weird that on all these old films so many feel the need to put a comment on how all the people in the vid are dead. Why do people do this? Of course they're dead, what's the deal with these people?
My guess would be that they still haven't come to terms with their own mortality yet, but who knows!
@ricadrew I've wondered that as well. I've been watching these old videos as well and they are FLOODED with those comment: "Is that kitty still alives(sic)?" Ah, no since the footage is from 1903.
"The sad part is that all these people are now dead?" Why? prehaps they lived long and fruitful lives.
And on and on and on. These scenes are fascinating, so enjoy a piece of history.
The internet has already become one huge archive. I been seeing videos and reading about early america. I used to have a stack of encyclopedias which I threw out the window. No one wanted to buy them. 100 years from now we will be gone and some other being on earth will be reading about early america in his brain and proyecting images out of their eye sockets. Perhaps the end of the world has come. No more you tube!
100 years from now ppl will have more sources than we have...more videos and pictures to study...they will understand more of our time than we ever will understand of the time the ppl in this video lived in
you know whats really creepy? The internet will be an archive. 100 years from now somebody may stumble upon fatman3141 videos and think the same thing. "Hes dead!"
@wwwchimpoutDOTcom if you think about it the way our internet is ,the more and more people keep posting videos the more harder this will be to find in 100 years.
I kind of think things are better today in some regards. There are less full scale wars, better medicine, much better communication, transportation, education, life span, I could go on and on... as far as values? That changes with generations.
It depends on how well their bodies were preserved, and what year they died. I'll bet some of those coffins would still stink pretty bad if they were opened today. But you're right. 100 years from now people will look at us the way we looked at these people.
Hmm... it sure hell makes you think how everything you're living in is already old fashioned; and I have a dream of never getting old which I know I'll never meet.
There is always some percentage of corruption in any era and in any institution. The idea is to limit it since it will never be rid of entirely. The problem today is that it is off balance, way off balance, in this upside down world.
As bad as you might think it was than, put it into perspective. They may have been more likely to accept bribes...but like tasering women for non-violently resisting arrest? They would have said "HELL no you can't hit a woman!" Maybe domestic violence WAS more common but that was "between a man and his wife". And they would LET citizens "take the law into their own hands"...infact they would ENCOURAGE it...there is NOTHING corrupt about that as long as SOMEONE is overseeing the operation.
yeah and we complain about 240p lol

Say these cops had been asleep for 111 years
going to bed in 1899 and waking up in 2010
gone are the horses, the housewives, the long
dresses and sutes men wore and replaced
with jeans and very modern cars, no smoking
drugs being illegal, drunk driving and divorce
it would be such a shock it would kill most of
them.
Another shock is blacks and disabled seen
in public with white people as equal
