Nobody will know for sure exactly what happened but this is my theory on what I think might have happened. I think at some point he had a bad argument with his wife that went too far that ended with him killing her. Realizing what he has done, he knew his wwe career was over and he would go to jail for life and that his son would be an orphan with a father in jail for killing his mother, so he felt the only thing he could do was not put him through that and end it for him and finish himself.
