This film should be way better known in the West, I wish it were easier to get hold of a dvd with English subtitles. If it weren't for the BFI I might never have seen it, horrible thought! I hope the animated version gets a wider release.

Sad Geezers reviewer says the Plukians are devoid of human kindness or some such, but who starts the lying on the first meeting? Who's the little shop lifter? Other scenes show how caring both Earth and Pluke people can be; even if gruffly, The touching scene of parting between Wef, Bee, Gedevan and Vladimir Nikolaevich. it's full of humanity.

Besides many others one of the very unusual and good things about Kin Dza Dza! is that it's NOT a ball busting sci-fi star wars epic. There's no world or galaxy saving business. On Earth, Pluke, and Alpha One the whole story is about ordinary people. The movie has a great deal to say about us for us to think about. Thanks NightingaleKD for posting it here.
