many people who can relate to what skinner says will agree tht the music of the streets has got them through many tough patches in life....the man's one of a kind, hope he comes back, his talent's too much to just leave nd never come back.
I had a funny dream and I came to screaming that The Streets will not release another album, but that's kind of the reality. Mr. Skinner, you will be missed in your musical form, but I look forward to your future endeavors, novels, movies, etc. As the old adage says, "All Good Things Must End".
soundtracks of our generationNice Swansong Mr Skinner
Out on a high... No pun intended
CLASSIX-
Pirate material, always made me smile, reminds me of my sound system banging, Nova SR Daze. Blinded by the lights, so evocative, bouncers checking you sox, you should have searched check the Box lads :) - Ease in Effect, Feel, Preston 1994
this is the song to say goodbye to the legdend himself mike skinner, this dude has helped me soo much in my life with his musical genius of lyrics that he writes that we can relate to in certain ways. god bless you mike skinner, you have done everyone good in this world. i really think that this song goes well with the final ending of the final album, "Lock the locks and leave "
This man is a ledgend, he went into LV in birmingham on friday for his tour starting in birmingham, he such a sound man he got me and my mate onto guest list for his performance as we were unable to get tickets.
amazing man, ledgend and cant wish him any more love. Thanks for the good times mate, and thanks for keeping it real to birmingham, need more people like you. you'll be missed :( xx
This tune sums up the album... It is a final farewell, each song represents different genres of his music (e.g the classic streets is summed up in the song Trust Me)...
I personally think that in the song Trying To Kill M.E mike is showing us that he realises he needs to leave the business -- "The thing i love most is trying killing me"
Thanks for all the memories Mike Skinner... help me and thousands of others through the good and bad times!!
@thatbennyguy no one knows for sure. all we know is that there wont be another streets album. i feel that mike will take a break after touring and the festials this summer then who knows, im confident he will stay involved in music in some form or another :)
Thanx Mike! a true legend. You wouldnt believe how much your music has touched me. Your album was released on my 28th birthday, what a present!. Saved the best track until last that's for sure!
if your reading this then your probally feeling really sad like i am after listening to this last tune mike will ever do, and like me im sure the streets have helped us all through some crap times and been there with us through the good times, its hard to think of a life with out a streets song making sense of it!! thumbs up this comment if u feel the same, and just maybe mike will read this and stay with us............
His not saying his not gonna release any music mate, just that he is finished with The Streets. Hopefully he'll actually continue making songs...atleast producing.
@Reznik92 well said mate, i seem to have grown up with all the albums and been able to relate to exactly what hes goin through at the time, sometimes feels the songs are written just for you :)
look at that, not one dislike. beautiful :)

Mike's always said what most people think,
on the spot, nails it most times,
Chucks in all but the kitchen sink
dropping those deep evocative rhymes
