how can I contact the restoration group for the bluebird as I have the Lightburn Zeta Sports prototype car which was used at Lake eyre and would like to contribute toe the restoration story thanks Robin Heath Cairns Australia
@skunkystar How about seven World Water Speed Records, the World Land Speed Record, only man ever to break both Land AND Water Speed Records in the same year, killed traveling at 326mph over water. Maybe you had to be there, but for my generation seeing Bluebird crash was like seeing Kennedy being shot.
I was never aware that his body was ever recovered. 34 years later, that is amazing if it is fact. I remember my fascination as a little boy, in Donald Campbell's achievements, at Lake Eyre in South Australia and elsewhere. And disbelief when he was killed. It was big news.
Donald's body was found and they gave him a proper burial

@13w15h0y
not proper... he wanted to be with his boat... in fact his sister refused to attend the burial.

"Passion for the need to honor a hero" ? I am curious to know why this man called hero ?
