Yes, it really looks like that at the center of the centrifuge there is a guy sitting in front of a computer. Wouldnt surprise me, forces near the center are really low, and he always has visual control of the speed and a direct line of sight to the person actually dealing with the real G forces. I bet he has some kind of master/override control over the motor and brakes, which would make the safety of the whole thing more redundant in some cases, when the lights go down or whatever.
@shadowdragon555 That's crazy. I would be so sick after that lol. The end i think i could handle (as far as motion sickness goes). But riding in the center of that thing would have me blowing chunks.
@shadowdragon555 I know that. that's why i could stand being in the pilot seat. G forces i can deal with (not nearly as much as they can of course). Spinning around and around and around however is a different story.

The guy in the center is the one who communicates with the pilot and can also control the speed of the centrifuge

Why is there a guy riding in the center?

Is there someone riding in the center? I know the pilot is at the end of one of the arms. But it looks like there is someone in the center.

@salemcripple you don't feel the G's like the pilots in there, you just go in circles, you don't really feel anything.
