Interesting how the people criticizing KD are immediately bumping their fave bands (Rush? Van Halen?) Which are also good bands, but it's sad to see people so wrapped up in them that they can't appreciate other bands.

that is an interesting theory for the American situation in the early to mid 90's, but it doesn't really explain why the M.F and K.D faired poorly in Europe though. Manowar's 'Triumph Of Steel' sold over 250,000 in Germany alone. Maiden were still packing out arenas all over Europe.
you are right about the lack of balance though and even though i'm not an American, i remember trad metal bands from the U.S complaining at the time. Even Nevermore had to rely on Europe for a while.
Very underrated song by King, my favorite on SPIDERS LULLABY keep the evil coming & remember 18 is 9.

King didn't stole any make-up. Maybe he got an inspiration from Kiss, maybe it was spontaneous (and maybe he just wanted to be incognito on first gig so if nobody likes it, he would not get beaten up in the street, who knows :-)). Anyway he's great metal hero, inspiration for Metallica and other famous bands, and Kiss can kiss his immortal majestic ass... they are just jerks playing homo tunes, trying to make fame out of accusing king and bringing his spotlights to them. Shame. Long live King!!!

My favorite album from them is always the Spider's Lullabye. I know.. I know lot of people will say "Conspiracy and Them are the classical King Diamond albums..blablabla.." But I love every moment of this masterpice.Andy LaRocque's solos are ultimate!

that is an interesting theory for the American situation in the early to mid 90's, but it doesn't really explain why the M.F and K.D faired poorly in Europe though. Manowar's 'Triumph Of Steel' sold over 250,000 in Germany alone. Maiden were still packing out arenas all over Europe.
you are right about the lack of balance though and even though i'm not an American, i remember trad metal bands from the U.S complaining at the time. Even Nevermore had to rely on Europe for a while.
