Okay... a pupil was due to play Warbucks, but he screwed-up and was canned and I was brought in to play Warbucks at the last minute. I had some am-dram experience (farce mainly) and cannot sing very well. The music teacher transposed my 3 songs to fit my er... range. If you look closely you might see my lines taped to bits of scenery. I ab-libbed a lot of it to be honest!
'Lip singing?' It's a bit difficult to sing without your lips. I'm guessing you mean lip sync-ing and it isn't, but the video was transferred from VHS tape and there is a slight delay between the audio and video.
Actually gib1jack, Watbucks is a pretty fair singer. The music director BLEW IT. That is supposed to be this heart-wrenching song. Instead, they made it sound like it should be played on a merry-go-round.
Does this guy realize that Warbucks is supposed to be pouring his heart out to the first person he has ever loved in his life? He is singing it like he is performing at a roller rink!
