  • what a guy,he sings from his heart many thanks john for sharing, you made so many people happy,we all wish you were here.but i can feel you are still around .

  • greatest voice, so much feeling to every word

  • John Denver was a great man . I wish i could have met him . you can tell he could feel his music and lived inside of it. He is missed.

  • I sooo love him, miss his talent & would have loved to see how his music would still move me if he was still here.

  • JD, "I'm sorry for myself"?? You had a wonderful family. Have followed you, from way back. Was there anything, that could have reached/stopped that hurting for YOU & to your family?

You are peaceful now. Your beautiful family loves you every day. Misses you.

We, the fans/following, still enjoy your music. HUGE hole. Can't imagine what your family feels. My heart goes out to them.

  • Makes me think about my late father, god bless you for this

  • I used to think about this song when I got divorced back in 1985. And you, it still hit home.....

  • @pablo13161 It's interesting. This song touched my heart in 1992 when I got divorced. His music has always had a way of making it through the thick skin of my facade to the core. Thank you for sharing. Michael.

  • lovely song john great man truely missed

  • I wish he would have sang more songs,,,,I can't get enough, I listen to them all the time. This song is beautiful ,sad and so true, for so many

  • to LOLu812, I'm SO sorry for your loss.

  • @bN59167 Thank-you so much...God bless.

  • This song touches the heart. Beautiful but so sad.

  • WTF is going on with these adds. They freeze up the screen and we can not watch the music. Cut this crap!!!!!

  • @TomTDunn We can only VOTE with our dollars...stop buying from these advertisers and let them know it. Support Mom and Pop operations and quit feeding corporate greed. It is up to you - what you support is what you get! Better yet, make your own d''''n pizza...and your own music too.

  • My wife and I were in Salzburg for our honemoon more than 20 yeasrs ago, We were at the main town square just before sunset when we heared John;s song played by a locl singer. It was beautifull, and we loved this song evere since, it reminds us of the depth of the human spirit despite the sorrow of losing or missing a loved one

  • Sad thing is that this genius would not stand a chance of having a major "hit song" today. Its the world's loss.

  • so true

  • @garcemac The music today is horrible if you can even call if music

  • thinking about the good times thinking about the rain thinking about you john

  • In comparison to the hip hop garbage and other that is called music today, this is simply beautiful and real.

  • It does bring bittersweetness. Brings back my youth. My hair. My life. I have to say it was mostly good. John was older (soul) brother. He taught me a great deal about truth and love. I remember the summer I listened to this song...

  • @oldcowboymike His ex-wife said the most important thing to him was honesty in his music... and thus it's truth to life.

  • I love this song, it reminds me of a Love I had. I miss him very much....

  • Loved him then and I still do, a great singer and just a nice guy.

  • I'm sorry, Mr. Denver, but I liked "Back Home Again" more than this tune. I hope yuo'll except my apology.

  • Yuga, I would say, I feel the depth of his loss, too, but everytime we hear John's music, or sing along with him, we channel him through our own lives. He is still very much alive in our hearts.

  • The world lost a great talent when John Denver died. He had such a profound way of saying just what was in our hearts. I miss him so much. Rest in peace dear John.

  • another amazing talent of my generation who we lost to drugs...but I do wonder since so many went that path and left us such a huge legacy of music that they did not give their lives for nothing...yes..that wonderful voice...forever now only in recordings

  • @ladyeulailia John died in a plane crash!!!!!!! NOT BECAUSE OF DRUGS!!!!!!

Get your facts right before you skeak.

  • We lost a great talent when John Denver died. I miss him so much. Thankfully we have his music to keep him alive in our hearts.

  • Throughout his entire life John always maintained that iconic voice. So crisp and clear. Not like some musicians who lose their vocal tones throughout their life and into their senior years. The world lost a true friend to everyone when John lost his life in that plane crash. He did leave us all a gift with his performances that all the world can enjoy far into the future....

  • Speechless..what a loss.

  • a calming voice in a hectic world, wish we had more.....

  • When your life feels like crap you can always listen to a John Denver song and say to yourself.... WOW John knows just what I'm going through. The man lived his songs and was able to make people feel they weren't alone with their problems.

  • 14 years ago yesterday. That day I listent to "flying for me" and it hit me. He was passed over at the last moment for Christa McCauliff on the flight and we know what happend 93 seconds afetr liftoff. 11 years later he died flying anyway. Ironic isnt it? I cant hlp but thinking that since flying was his second great love (after music) that there would have been no regrets on either day. Personaly I am glad that fate waited untill 1997 as he wrote a number of good songs after Challenger.

  • who are those five retarded who hate this song?

  • @arifislam006 Inappropriate used of the word "retarded" -- please learn more appropriate vocabulary.

  • with this song i remember ate gay (gracia) during my highschool days i was working in casa mia. rt lim blvd.Zamboanga City. I am now 54 yras old.....

  • I remember one Christmas I asked for the very first John Denver Album. I got it on cassette along wuth a Stereo. I was more thrilled with the cassette then any thing. The day John Denver died was the saddest day. A beautiful voice was gone from this planet I know I still thing he had more to say

  • Reminds of my divorce I still miss her.

  • “I’m sorry for the way things are in China. I’m sorry things ain’t what they used to be. But more than anything else, I’m sorry for myself, You’re not here with me.” I look forward to singing praises in heaven with you, John. Carry on ‘til then.

  • so lovely beautiful miss JD music

  • HI Mary from AZ : Thank you, John .

  • Very beautiful song. Saying sorry should never be the hardest word to say. That one little word can make a huge difference

  • i remember this song when i was 3rd year high school , i worked as a waiter night shift in Casa Mia hotel restaurant in cawa-cawa blvd zamboanga city , one of the girls there ate Gay her nick her real name was Gracia, she used to sang this song. I worked from 6:00pm to 2:00 am then the follwing day go to school my class is 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. now i am 54 years old with a degree in accounting, and self employed direct selling..... I missed Ate Gracia and Ate Babeth....

  • very very beautiful song of a great artst

  • John Denver = REVELATION 22.16

  • I loved watching this concert on PBS just a few days ago. John sings with such joy and grace. He looked like a truly humble man who enjoyed giving pleasure to others through his music.

  • @Johnmadwiscclem Hi from AZ

  • A poignant song about a breakup.......

  • dit is prachtige muziek

  • my "domestic partner" committed suicide 4 weeks ago because I broke up with him because of his drinking...this song could be his to me...breaks my heart.

  • @dialysisrn You have my deepest sympathy my friend.

  • John Denver one of the greatest voices of our life time. a shame he was taken away from us to soon.but thank god we have his music to play.when i listen to him sing sometimes you almost feel his presence in the stories of some of his music.i know when i hear sunshine on my shoulders his image and presence are so strong.not sure if anybody else feels what im saying.but its a great feeling.

  • My mum first introduced me to John Denver. I'm only 20 and this song brings a lump to my throat. Enough said.

  • Love this song, thank you for posting.

  • and, his first wife Annie in the audience. (visible in the beginning) what a song.

  • I miss you baby girl!

  • This song 1st broke my heart in highschool when my sweetheart lost her mom to cancer. we both cried many times listening to her father playing the song. We married after college and 20yrs later, i've been playing the same song after I too, lost her to cancer...I'm sorry for the way things turned out...and...I'm cryin because you're not here with me...your love keeps me warm thank-you and love you always....precious moments...

  • @LOLu812 I am so sorry for your loss, so many losses for so many of us, I miss this man & all he was. Yes so many precious moments that are now precious memories

  • @LOLu812 wow. sorry for your loss.

  • in a world of harshness...he brought gentle light and hope with his music...rest john...through all of your giving of yourself...you have earned it. god bless.

  • Music isn't like it used to be. Just like the generations of recent. I feel lost now that I am in my 50's................

  • John was a true humanitarian and a lover of the natural world, and he expressed himself and his ideals through his beautiful music. I don't think we'll ever have a man as gifted as john ever again-he was very special. may he R.I.P.

  • How much of him went into writing this song. How painful to hear these words and experience the feeling behind them even more. I love this song and I sure do miss him being on this earth. R.I.P. John, your memory lives on.

  • thanks for up loading this song its beautiful and my memory's on!!

  • A true poet. I miss him, but thanks to his music and Youtube, he lives on forever.

  • I am 54 now and I love him as much as I did when I was 14.A wonderful man that is missed dearly. But what a legacy he has left the world in his amazing music.God bless you JD....I cant believe you went away ....

  • I miss Jhon...I cannot imagine my life without his music, he was a poet, I saw him when I was just a little girl in a small town in Mexico, but anyways he was those kind of singers that you'll never forget, I miss you so...

  • I think he was a super hottie. I still miss him.

  • Whats with the negatives...must be people who have a hearing impairment! The guy is pooring out his soul in a song! MIss you John!

  • It still guts me that we no longer have John with us. I can't say how many times his music touched me and spoke to me. This song in particular takes me back to my first boyfriend and our break-up. John got me through that. I miss him terribly.

  • @yuga2 john denver is surely an angel.... And angels are just here for a short while. To: like you say; get us through bad times. FALCO AND DENVER ROCKED MY LIFE Falco and denver died with 4 month between them. FAlco in a carcarsh and denver in a plane crash

  • @Louisefalk78 I hadn't realized about Falco. John's death came on the heels of my Grandmother and my kitty. It about did me in. What a horrible summer that was.

  • @yuga2 There will never be another John Denver as he was one of a kind! Yes, I miss him too. He was my favorite of all singers and will always be my favorite. He will live on forever in the hearts of many who loved him and his music as it touched the hearts of all of us and will forever. Thank you John for bringing us all the years of happiness with your music.

  • @yuga2

My girlfriend and i saw him in concert back in 1974. We split up in 77. John's music meant so much to us. I found her after being apart for 28 years (and 3 kids each) in 2005 and now we've been married for almost 5 years. John's music helped get us back together. It's a long, beautiful story that brings many to tears when i tell it. We miss you so much John..........................

  • @mrbmac0509 Life happens despite our best plans. Congrats.

  • @yuga2 His music touched me too. John was special...a true talent. I was a teenager when some of his albums came out and his voice got me through many lonely nights. I miss him terribly. Why do all of the good ones leave us so soon?

  • Dido.. Can't get more cleaver than above. Well said!

  • Thanks so much John Denver. You'll always be in our hearts.

  • Jim Croce

  • we miss you Dutch!

  • Love you John... rest in peace <3

  • Expanding slightly, we also lost Canada's Stan Rogers to an aircraft incident in Cincinati and a road accident claimed your Harry Chapin.

  • @rdvqc There was another famous young man in the early 80's (i think) that was killed in a light-plane crash. I believe he was a country singer, but not sure. I just can't think of who it was now.

  • @musclecarluvr1 I believe you are thinking of Jim Reeves who died at age 40 in a private airplane crash in 1964. Very similar case to JD since he was at the controls. Flying is a lot of fun and a special skill as any pilot will tell you at length but Mother Nature is very unforgiving. Reeves got into weather beyond his skill and JD forgot the main directive of FTFP (Fly The F...ing Plane) when distracted with fuel issues in an unfamiliar aircraft.

  • @rdvqc Thank's for that reminder also-I had forgot about Jim Reeves. However the one i couldn't remember earlier was Ricky Nelson. How could i forget the kid in Ozzie & Harriet Show? He became famous and sung "Travelin Man" in the 60's, and "Garden Party" later. He was killed Dec.31, 1985 in a small plane while going to entertain a New Years Party, in Texas. He was 45. Thanks again for your response.

  • @musclecarluvr1 And then there was our beloved Patsy Cline!

  • @rdvqc (I think you're refering to Jim Croce that died from an air plane crash.........Dang, so many died in those things it's getting rediculous. Why I don't fly period......

  • My greatest love of my life just sent this link to me - too bad he waited until we were divorced to say I'm sorry... : (

  • And I'm sorry to have seen so many of America's most talented singers & songwriters lost in Aviation accidents. John also was a promoter of wildlife conservation. R.I.P. John-Also Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, J.P. Richardson, Patsy Cline & all the others i've forgot.

  • One, if not the best voice I've ever heard.

  • Another great song from the legend

  • When I move to Colorado and stood up on a mountain top trail and looked out upon the valleys...Rocky Mt. High the song that I goofed on...well, then I felt it, saw it. and he couldnt' put it in better in a song..total respect.

  • This song hits me when I hear it. Good quality in the video also. Well done and thank you for putting this awesome video up

  • this song reminds me of growing up at christmas with muppets xmas playing all day. RIP

  • yeah I have always been a John Denver fan, when it wasn't cool to admit it. funny how so many that I know never listened to him in highschool when I was, talk like they've always listened. Some of us just have long range good choices ;)

  • I was, and still am, a fan of John Denver when it wasn't cool to be one. Took a lot of ribbing for being a big fan of John, and Dan Fogelberg. I didn't care. I knew good music when I heard it.

  • TO ROAD CYCLIST STEVE: "Im sorry bro, I was angry at myself and I took it out on you. You're too good a friend to let that happen again. Forgive me mate. "

  • Is that Michelle Lee at the very beginning?

  • For LENNY.............

  • I wish I had my youth back. I think that is something we all wish...

  • He makes me feel like was a young person again. Sad , but still wondering what the world was about. He helped me through the diffcult days.................

  • So genuinne, it's like a buddy telling you hs story.

  • the song suits of what my situation is... i've been despicable..... wish i've never done that shattered my dreams..... disappointing isn't it???

  • there's some point in our life that we are despicable, and you regret it.... wish that you never done it.... in my life, if i have something good, i feel compel to destroy it....disappointing isn't it???

  • I'm ashamed to admit that I had completely forgotten this song. It's so beautiful, so sad. My husband isn't a big fan, so I don't listen to his music very often. I'll have to make a point of popping in a CD when I'm alone. I dearly love his music!

  • I've been thinking about you almost every day, <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

  • HI from AZ

  • i miss him so much

  • i never like his songs till after i fall in love & . . .

annie's song is my best song...

    miss u john..

  • We All Take Things For Granted, Life is Way Too Short And John Denver

was a REAL MAN..I'm SORRY To See Him Not Here No More

May His Soul Rest in Peace..

  • @SK4869 His like we will see (or hear) again. We'll see the likes of him again or the 'Mania' that followed them around the world, you know that, there'll again be another John Denver, you know that, there's gonna be another John Denver, as you don't only live once, your body remains alive forever and ever all the way into the 100th century and after the 100th century, we will get born again in the spiritual world again forever and ever and be this young again and that's true, you know that

  • @COWBOYMACLEOD Some Times I Not Know What To Believe or Should Believe, Especially

The Day Our Beloved John Left us. Maybe it Was His Time To Go But Listening Him Sing Brings

Many Tears Just Like The Words in His Song, I Can't Believe He Went Away. I'm Sorry Things Aint What

They Used To Be. He Was a Real Human Being and I Still Can't Believe He Went Away ;(

1997 Was Not a Good Year. I Know I Have Nothing To Fear as We All Must Leave Sooner or Later..

John Denver Was a Beautiful Man I'm Sorry

  • @SK4869 What makes you think that 1997 was not a good year?

I know that one day there will be another 1996 to 2011 rodeo seasons as there will be another 1997 rodeo season again for what I know.

Maybe it Wasn't His Time To Go But Listening Him Sing Brings

I know the likes of him will be seen again one day.

  • @COWBOYMACLEOD

First of All I am Little Surprised To See That You Have Taken Interest in My Comments.

As I Not Write a Lot of Comments Only Ones I Feel That Deserve To Be Written..

As My Heart is Letting Me Know What I Feel and How This Song is Really Affecting Me

1997 Was a Year That Broke My Heart in Two Losing Princess Diana Our Beloved

Queen of Hearts Then Losing Our John. What Could Be Said About 1997.??

I Not Know and Maybe You Not Know if it Was Really His Time To Go But Still Miss Him.

  • @COWBOYMACLEOD

You Know My All Time Favorite Song of Johns is

Some Days Are Diamonds.. Some Days Are Stone

And Now I Guess He Was Right. We Are Living Day To Day

Trying To Understand What is Really Going On..

Even Though Our Beloved John Has Left Us His Music

Will Live on Forever Inside All of Us.. Some Days Are Diamonds Some Days Are Stone Right :))

  • @SK4869 But we do actually really live, let our bodies remain to stay and be alive into the 100th century forever and ever for a thousand years, then get born again in the spiritual world again right here in real life, so technically, we live not only once -- but that once is not only forever as our bodies are born, live, and keep remaining to stay alive all the way into the100th century, but we (unconsciousness) do live at all as there is evidence of living more than once, we live forever

  • I remember him singing this on the Johnny Carson show, along with "Wild heart looking for a home" that I think debuted on TV that night. The split with Annie was very recent and the raw pain in his voice and in his eyes was hard to watch. Carson had invited him and was very gentle and sympathetic with what John was going through..It wasn't a side that Carson showed all the time, but it was very moving to see him obviously understanding John's pain and assuring him it would get better.

  • The Voice of God...awesome!

  • I remember having an 8 track tape, I played it so much that it actually wore out. I then bought a 6 cd set and play it quite often when I am in my car. This song "I'm sorry" must have been written for his wife. Still has me tearing up after all these years. R.I.P.

  • @120819411

I had all of John Denvers songs on tape, but a cassette tape, wonder where it is now, it don't matter atall because I still have John's songs on my PC now and also on my ipod. Sometimes I listen to one of my favourite John D songs: Darcy Farrow, worth a listen to always.

  • @120819411

Heh, my first JD "album" was on cassette tape in very early seventies, maybe 1971. Then I progessed to vinyl and had this album on my pioneer record player. Then I got really modern and up with the times: bought the same album on CD. My cassettes are lost, my LP is lost, my CD is also lost. But thanks to new technology I have all the songs on my IPod. Hope I never lose my Ipod or that it does not go out-of-date.

And John Denver, u are still alive in my world.

  • we're sorry your gone

  • Such a lovely but sad love song, the words are so profound and sad, which reflect the feeling oandf the singer, and he sing it with his heart and soul. What are great Artist, and song writer, singer. What a lost to the world but his legend always remains in our heart

  • Wow!! Does it really get any better than this? What a talent!!

  • I've been a fan since before he wrote "Country Roads". Saw him in concert in Cedar Rapids 1970.

  • I will always remember what you told me,,,and i forgive you,,,,

  • I will always remember what you told me,,,and i forgive you,,,,

  • I will always remember what you told me,,,and i forgive you,,,,

  • I'm Sorry his Brilliance will never will never be seen again.

  • @Andsaca1 The HAPPY part about one of his albums, as I write these notes to say is "That we will actually really forever and ever be able to hear or see him perform again" as I'm Never Sorry, his Brilliance will forever and ever really actually forever be seen again, YAHOO, isn't that great?

  • @Andsaca1 Well, there was never only one John Denver to me, as I know there will actually be another John Denver. His songs, his voice, and an acoustic guitar. That's about as wonderful as music gets to know that there's gonna be another John Denver, you know that, there's gonna be another John Denver, YAHOO?

  • What a beautiful song from a great performer! Miss u JD.

  • Mr. John Denver...blessings always to you and yours...used to sing "Country Roads" in clubs, lounges, and restaurants decades ago...used to get a kick out of the folks who had a few too many "sarsaparillas" who walked up to the stage (in the middle of a song!...wonderful!!) asking me to play "West Virginia"...I got it...'specially since my late Dad and late Grandma were born and raised in West Virginia...Tunesmith

  • Doet me altijd aan mijn ex denken dit liedje.

  • my mother once asked me at 14 , you want to c ome see john denver with me..pffffttt no mum... now i regret that day a lot :(

  • @lancs I WENT TO SEE HIM WHEN I WAS YOUNG. THERE WAS A BIG SCREEN UP BEHIND HIM AND THEY SHOWED VIDIOS OF COUNTRY LIFE IN THE BACKGROUND. I REMEMBER SEEING SOMEONE PLOWING A FIELD, ETC. ANYWAY, I DID ENJOY IT. I BELIEVE IT WAS IN GREENSBORO, NC.

  • Truly original talent. Hated "Thank God I'm A Country Boy" because it sounded so "hickish" as when I was a boy; today, as a man in the sticks of the country again I can finally appreciate it along with the others.

  • God gives a special few the voice and talent to sing to us, to help us see the beauty in this world and each other. John was one of those few, God took him from us for a reason we can never understand, hopefully he gives us another soon, for we need another badly who can make people feel.

  • i love this song one of my favorite JD songs

  • romer, one of his favorite song...

  • We are so fortunate that we have all these memories of John and they are so precious as we can still listen to all his beautiful music..Bless you John

  • Unbelievable that we've gone from someone with this kind of talent being blackballed to what rap? bad language? rage music??? Jeez, no wonder our youth are displaying such anger and thinking its their right to take it out on anyone.

  • If I have a favorite John Denver song...THIS is it. He was acutually a helluva song writer!!!

  • @radar123456456123 I like lots of them....but FOR YOU IS MY FAV

  • A friend and I were traveling through Denver the first time I heard this song. We'd spent the night in Aspen, of course, and were just exiting east Denver when the radio DJ came on and said he was going to play the sneak preview of the new John Denver song. Being an avid JD fan even then (1975), I HAD to pull over off the freeway and get the cassette recorder out and record this event. In the background you can hear static from lightning. It got played all night in.....COLBY, KANSAS!

  • John, we love you SOO MUCH !!!!!!!

  • Now I'm really crying..

  • Great great song

  • MY FAVORITE. I LOVE IT JOHN

  • This wonderful quartet and their arrangement easily steal this performance.

  • awwee this song makes me have tears

  • John Denver's wonderful "Wildlife Concert". We need one now, John, for the creatures dying in the Gulf of Mexico. Wish you were still here. God Bless You!

  • @miguelofthehillcount

Yes we need more John Denvers & Steve Erwins . Men who will fight for the animals . Stand up & be real men with a stronge voice. A heart to cry about loniness . Miss you dear John .

    ~~Ava~~

  • for all those ....Matt is my oldest son..

  • The likes of John Denver come only once in a generation. We are lucky for having him in era when real love songs were written and sung by singers and poets whose verses emanated from their heart, from their souls. They will remain in our consciousness, they will remain in our lives.

  • @jurbinsky77 thank you for that.....said what i couldn't articulate.
