  • I'm not that fit and I run 3 times a week for 45 mins on a threadmill, and I run more miles than he does in that time, so its not that big a deal

  • 4-5 times a week Wow

  • that girl want hes dick like no 2morrow lol no homo

  • who has that kind of time. Just use kettle-bells or go martial arts(kick boxing, boxing)

  • when he says try not to miss a day keep ontrack of the cardio workouts....does he mean do cardio every day or does he mean dont miss 4 or 5 times cardio a week??

  • @steven3662 Don't miss 4 or 5 cardio a week

  • Please don't do videos with boobs in the background, I didn't hear a word you said man.

  • I heard, "hi I'm pregnant." ._______.

  • The fuck is a sleep program?...

  • @TheLusianPopa LOL are you stupid? Gregg plitt is not intermediate level!!! Look at him in his newer videos. He's much bigger and is insanely strong especially considering his size. I highly doubt you are at his level, I don't think anyone is. He's one intense mother fucker. Read about his life and everything he did. Its pretty inspirational. No way you're at his level.

  • its from 2007 and he is still fucking huge !

  • @rumiyoceva i have 2 years of lifting and am his size :)) Jay cutler is huge ,plitt is intermediate level.

  • i buy mt=rx only beacause of greg

  • i buy mt=rx only beacause of greg

  • i do cardio every day but not an hour coz it would be over training if i did it every day i do probily about 5 10 minutes a day running round my area jogging untill in carnt run nomore every day just to keep the heart rate pumping and healthy 5 10 minutes 20 minutes maximum a day good cardio and not overworking your body either

  • this is natural greg

  • I am following every step.....thank you for showing your work....

  • No way Plitt does this weak cardio. I think I read that he just screams "FFUUUCCCK" and sprints until his heart rate gets to 280.

  • バカ野郎。気持ち悪いな。

  • @haryyken お前がな

  • this young greg is not the same greg today!

  • Yo Gregg, what's the best cardio if you have a knee condition and can't run?

  • @will1129 swimming is good

  • so he basically runs a marathon 4-5 times a week?

  • @Khachik2003 no, 26 miles is the sum of the entire week.

  • Comment removed

  • This is old though, based on outdated science. Greg plitt just has great genetics.

  • did he say if you run 2 fast you will burn musle instead of fat?

  • Should you do this before or after a workout? I was doing it before a workout and a guy in the gym told me i was wasting my time..

  • @bizarrebob You have to decide whether you want an intense cardio session with a weaker workout or an intense workout with a weaker cardio session. A 10 to 12min cardio warm-up is ok. A 30min cardio session after a workout is more intense than a 45min to 1hr cardio session before a workout.

    Hope this helps.

  • @Contagiousone thanks, but if i do a cardio session after a workout, will that stop the muscle gains from the workout i've just finished or will i still gain muscle if i do cardio after a workout??

  • @bizarrebob Essentially it all depends on the type of cardio. If you plan on running 5miles a day of course you risk losing muscle mass, but like most bodybuilders they will do an incline walk on the treadmill for 30min and they're done. Honestly, I think 20-30min moderate pace 2 to 3 times a week is an effective amount without the risk of losing muscle gain.

  • @bizarrebob The only way to do cardio after a workout, is if you take some carbohydrates before you do it. Why? because your body has just gone through a workout and is in need of energy. Good sources of energy is an energy bar because they have simple carbs. Do not take complex carbs because your body needs to break the carbs down for energy FAST. Also, depending on your body type, your lifting, cardiovascular, AND nutritional program will be based on your body type.

  • @ThaGenius101 yeah I also thought that too. That is how the mma fighters train, and they are all ripped.

  • This is misleading. HIIT is the way to go to burn fat and retain muscle mass. Long distance jogging is unnatural and it burns muscle.

  • Greg sounds and behaves so differently here and on QuestProductionsLLC vids. Shows u how important the directing and production of the videos are~ lol

  • That girls pretty hot aha

  • NICE TITS! (...on the girl)

  • what iis this natural high he keeps talking about

  • @froznf11re

When you give it your all in the gym, you feel fucking amazing afterwards

  • Haha I love how the girl in the background continuously looks at him and even turns up the speed when he starts running, because she was just walking first.

  • for cardio, go to sixpackshortcutscom and watch mike changs cardio training, much better, or just type mike chang in youtube

  • i hate steady state cardio, i like hiit cardio much better. i heard hiit cardio has the same benefits of doing steady state cardio

  • If you're trying to maintain and build muscle mass, too much cardio can be detrimental to your goals. As with anything, moderation is key.

  • piss aff pacman

  • GREG PLITT REMINDS ME OF DOLHP LUNDGREN LOL

  • @EvilPs3Gamer I WILL BREAK YOU

  • @fj4pztrlo1While your there, get me an angus deluxe with supersize fries, 2 apple pies, and a chocolate shake

  • Fuck this shit, I'm going to McDonalds!

  • @fj4pzt4rlo1 real original you fool

  • @richiejervis hahahahhahahha

  • blond chick about to get her postworkout shake in

  • @Jayhawkblue Yeah bruh, nothing but protein in that shake heh heh

  • Or use any other cardio equipment...elleptical, bike, it makes no difference. What;s important is your heart rate, that's what determines how many calories you are burning off.

  • Greg Plitt's body is the optimal blend of leanness and muscularity IMO. His midsection in particular, is my desideratum. Hopefully mine one day will rival his.

Happy birthday Greg. The big 32! You're getting long in the tooth LOL. However, you're showing no signs of slowing down. I love your website!

  • 5 hrs of running per week is kinda hard on the knees

  • @bambarby "5 hrs. of running per week is kinda hard on the knees." It certainly can be. If you go this route, proceed with caution. Overuse injuries are a legitimate concern, and a pain-in-the-ass to deal with.

  • @bambarby

eating fast food everyday is hard on ur organs and makes u fat. but u still do it. running is great all around.

  • HIIT>Steady State

  • @lewie seems steady state works pretty good on him though don't you think

  • @musclesandfun4life yeah but you can get the results in spending half the time

  • @lewie I do just as much cardio as I was doing before, only now I substitute interval training for steady state. I find that I get better results as a whole, and more importantly, I enjoy the workouts.

I lost six inches in my waist a year ago, doing nothing but steady state on a treadmill. Fat loss can occur utilizing either modality. However, with interval training the workouts are more exciting, and you do burn more fat, per unit of time IMO.

Both strategies have their place however.

  • @scottdavis0676 personally i cant stand steady state, it just bores me out of my mind,i only do intervals nowdays, its more challenging and it keeps me engaged both mentally and physically which causes the cardio session to go by a lot faster and keeps it fun and challenging. keeps me in great shape and I find there is no better way for me to mantain all my muscles and stay at single digit bodyfat while having fun at the same time

  • if he did six miles, the girl in the back did 10 lol

  • at 0:23, what happened to his tongue?

  • ( 0:11 ) tihihi! i didn't download anything biatch!

  • greg has bigger tits then the girl (l)

  • Worst cardio workout everrrrr lol "run on a treadmill" thats it? This is the 3rd vid I've watched of greg now and although he is in very good shape im afraid to say ive given up on his teaching skills lol

  • apparently he banged her in the arse in the changerooms and then came on her tits, it's part 2 of this vid, he has a reasonable size cock

  • 2:13 "logging oiiin"

  • hey reinh8r she is not looking at the camera shes checking him out and its obvious she wants his penis.

  • Fuck that shit. HIIT > running for 5-6 hours a week and wanting to commit suicide from boredom.

  • @TheZymbo hahaha lmao exactly when i first saw this i thought i admre the guy but come on a treadmill and for 45 minutes!! Hell i just go for 30 min jogs on the beach or around parks that much more excitin!

  • @blueleaf1717 Not everybody has that luxury, to run in such an enviable location.

  • @scottdavis0676 im sure if everyone was serious enough about wanting to run but not on a treadmill they could work something out.. even if it's laps in their own back garden around cones or whatever (i have never done that btw!)

  • Comment removed

  • @scottdavis0676 yeah my problem is my backyard is kinda small for running around, so i generally wait till it isnt raining no more (which takes a while in england!) and as i said jog around parks for a few miles, i also dont have proper running trainers which is bad for your joints as you get older!

  • Hah, I find it hard to believe the chick was on that machine for 45 minutes. :L

  • @TYTRALOCITY she was only on for that long cos she fancied him haha!

  • Ha Ha... what a video... run real far on a treadmill. The end.

  • I guess that this girl was instructed to look at the cam or Greg.

    This cardio sucks.

  • Greg is the freaking man! In my opinion, his body is the perfect blend of leaness and muscularity.

  • 6 miles at 45 minutes on treadmill is very impressive especially for a big muscle guy.

  • how does he keep his muscle mass with this kind of cardio?

  • @piratelord99 yea thats wut i was thinkin, it must have been a gradual increase in cardio or sum shit

  • you rock!

  • The fake blonde with the fake titties looks like such a douche staring and smiling at the camera.

  • Actually HIIT for 20 minute, 3-4 times a week will give better fat burning results as well as preserve hard-earned muscle better. This is old school and probably gives an impression of better workout because it's done for longer! However, count in the cortisol (amongst others) and you're losing more than you're gaining. No pun intended!

  • @z0ltanz0ltan You need to understand is that there are 3 different body types. Depending on what body type you are (ectomorph, endomorph, or mesomorph), your lifting program, cardiovascular program, AND nutritional program is subject to your body type. Also, your FITNESS GOAL plays a big factor on your training session(s). Just because it's old school, does NOT mean it isn't effective. I can solidly say this because I am a member of his website and have gathered info from reliable sources.

  • @skittlesnicker I am aware of the different body types. I have also experimented on my own body and observed my friends (different body types). While I do agree with the rest of your arguments, fat burning does not really begin until 20-30 minutes of normal cardiovascular activity and it has been proven that for all body types, HIITworks better in burning fat with no more than 10-12 minutes of total activity. For anyone but obese people I would recommend HIIT.

  • @skittlesnicker And oh, by the way, I was a member of his excellent site and have watched all his videos and benefited greatly from his tips for muscle building and shaping. For cardio though, I'm sorry but I am not a fitness model and just do not have the time for such extensive cardio sessions. Ironically, at the speeds he mentions, it's almost a high intensity cardio session throughout! This may not work well for the average person who just wants to get in shape and stay fit.

  • @z0ltanz0ltan load of bollocks

  • @mad1966dog You will look like a load of bollocks if you have that kind of attitude. Do your research, mate, and be a man.

  • @z0ltanz0ltan Listen you little fucking weed FUCK OFF

  • @mad1966dog You started this conversation, mate. If you have nothing constructive or partially intelligent to speak, I suggest you go on your own way. Don't be a child.

  • @z0ltanz0ltan fuck off you Gobshite. Fucking bring it on cunt otherwise shut your arse

  • @mad1966dog I see. You really have come here with a belligerent attitude and determined to show off that you are a rapscallion. If passive-aggressiveness is all you have to also offer instead of facts and legitimate debate, consider this my last response. I have no time for trolls, my friend. Cheers!

  • @z0ltanz0ltan You really are a jerk off

  • @z0ltanz0ltan it works for greg thats for sure.

  • pure cheesey

  • i like this it inspired me to take up running as a sport now i run every other day just about thank you greg plitt and thanks for whoever posted the vid ;)

  • if you wan to run fast and burn fat go for intervals or fart-lec training hill running is also good, all these vary the intensity so your body doesn't get bored and your metabolism stays high, if you can pump your metabolism up you'll still be burning fat for hours after you stop running...

  • i heard a few people say if you run, your body is gonna sap and eat away at your muscles. is this true?

  • I think this guy got it wrong. To me , 45 minutes on a treadmill at that speed 4 times a week is a bit too much. I did the same a year ago and only caused me shin splints and runners knee, i had to cut it down to 30 min twice a week with a long run on sundays.

  • HaHa Tits Magee

  • hard yo pay attention with those tits floppin around (.)(.)

  • whats he onabout, you have to higher your heart rate thats what actually burns fat running like an idiot low intensity 4 45 to 60 mins is gonna burn muscle.

  • @jagonetwot

I'll listen to the world class fitness model over you buddy. He's right, get a sweat on and you're going to burn fat - high intensity cardio all the time is going to suck out some of your hard earned muscle.

  • @canuckman87 well iv not had any problems iv lost fat and am now more or less ripped, it might be certain bodys, i used to run longer before and lost to much muscle, so now keep it high intensity

listen to who u want idiot

  • Endurance training is what wears you out and burns metabolic active muscle tissue. I am a marathon runner turned strength athlete, and those 70 miles a week gave me nothing more than overtraining, although I dosed them well. I now train 3 to 4 times a week 20 minutes HI(I)T and my VO2max surpasses my max when I was 30 lbs lighter and a marathonner. Intense is the way to go. One time a week an endurance run for maintenance is enough, when combined with a strength training program.

  • @RonMeijers this guy is not a strength trainer, he is a fitness model. he's not huge, he's beefed up his frame and stays ripped year round.

  • haha yea ay

  • the girl in the backround obviously wants his penis...

  • @CydASH hahahahaa!!!

  • @CydASH haha my thoughts exactly!!

  • @CydASH You do realised that's staged? She is even wearing the logo on her top lol

  • @CydASH she is definitely greg plitt cock hungry

  • @CydASH Yea, she's making it obvious!!!!! :-)

  • @CydASH she looks slighlty confused as you would be i suppose haha i guarantee he would have totally nailed that chick after shooting that video!

  • @CydASH LOL

  • @CydASH he hit that before they turned the camera on

  • @CydASH haha as a black guy had once said,"She wantss his DIIICK!!"

  • @CydASH hell yeh, i want his penis

  • @nitro, the part about burning muscle instead of fat is true, but most people won't have to worry about that unless your a marathon runner or some one who runs for hours a day. You should be a little more specific when you are stating facts. People who run for an hour or two a day, shouldn't have to worry about muscle loss especially the ones taking protein supplements. The rest is fairly accurate though, keeping a steady pace is important, without over doing it.

  • nice tits in the back

  • nitro, dead wrong bro!

As long as you're not "hitting the wall" - burning more than 1,000 calories in a session and running out of glycogen - then muscle breakdown due to cardio will be MINIMAL, you won't lose muscle as long as you eat 0.8 - 1 gram protein per pound body weight, and keep a minimal calorie deficit.

  • Haha. I'm laughin' at Ms. Tits over there staring at the camera.

  • @NeoGodHand Lmfaooooo Ms. tits!

  • @NeoGodHand Hahaha it's funny but that wasn't a nice comment :P

  • @theman1860 Haha, yeah, that was a little derogatory >_>

  • @NeoGodHand Anybody who genuinely doesn't think she was planted there knows nothing about marketing whatsoever. I mean come on don't be so naive

  • @LSW1987 Of course she was planted there lol. Only a fool would believe that a DVD of this caliber featuring someone like Plitt and a company like Met-Rx would let some random person loiter in their instructive video intended for profit. It's just rather laughable the way she's just there.

  • this guy is the man

  • hes over doing it here...45 minutes 5 times a week is a little too much for most people...20 minutes just on a bike gives me a good sweat

  • @jackedblob

ye but your not at the level he is at. for him to maintain and improve HIS levels thats what he does. He is not saying for everyone to do it, he is giving you an insight into his workout.

Which is a lot more than most people do, and a lot better

  • remember getting a sweat does not mean you are working hard. you can get a sweat laying in the sun

  • Hey guys i recently started working out. But i always seem to only run on the tredmill for 2 miles straight 5 days a week which is only 10 mins a week....Yikes.... Is this good enough for me starting or do i have to push myself to the limit? Thanks

  • You should sprint on the treadmill for at least 10 minutes.

  • if your just starting out its ok

  • Oh ok great, I thought u were going to tell me " Are you crazyyyyy you gotta do 10 miles a day" lol... But sounds fair enough for me to do... Any suggestions on when I should do more miles?...... Thanks

  • Doing more miles is relatively easy to figure out. Basically when you fell that a mile or two is fairly easy to run. You want to be able to have a good sweat going on, and you want to be able to keep pace and still have some energy left. Everyone is different, so you have to kind of increase on your own accord. If a mile is too much to add, then add half a mile.

  • Your time does not add up to me? How long does it take you to run 2 miles? Secondly, don't worry how far you are running! It depends on your age and fitness level. You need to worry more about keeping your heart rate around 127-148 bpm for about a 1/2 hour or longer. If you run to hard you will actually burn muscle instead of fat. If you throw your body into overdrive to fast it can't burn fat fast enough so it turns to your muscle. Keep a nice medium pace and go for distance not speed!

  • Oh ok i see...damn i never knew that lol. I run 2 miles in 21 to 25 mins...and when i start i keeo medium speed....so im more like jogging and not running like a maniac. But its very interesting that u gave me the heads up on burning the muscle. Caz honestly i would have never known!

  • Actually, your body always breaks down fat first because it is easier and there is more of it available usually. It goes: carbs, fat, THEN muscle, and that's only in extreme cases. I don't know where you're getting your information from, and I don't claim to be an expert, but I ran cross country and I know a lot of runners, and you can do a lot of cardio and still be muscular. You're kind of scaring people.

Also, I think treadmills are dumb. I like actually running a lot more.

  • Nice video bro, I do 5 miles a day within 45 minutes.......... 5 or 6 days out of the week and my cardio has increased tremendously!!!! I agree with your routine 5* all the way!

  • low intensity cardio 45-60 will burn your muscle and fat off stick with high intensity interval training and never go longer than 20 mins. go hard

  • Exactly. What he said about low cardio for a such a long period is the exact opposite of what most experts recommend.

  • whats with his lisp in this vid?

  • hot chick

  • 45 min cardio??? what a joke!!! Its called Interval Training cardio. have any of you try it yet? Burn fat while maintaining muscle mass... check out Craig Ballentyne on Turbulence Traning. Dont waste 45 min of your time when you can 20 min and stay burning fat 48 hours non stop.. check turbulence training if you have short time and want to take your body to the next level

  • i never mentioned nutrition. obviously u need to eat properly faggot. I assumed that whoever read my advice knows how to EAT PROPERLY. However my main point still stands:

    a. eat properly and 45-60 min cardio 4-5 times per week

    VERSUS

    b. eat properly and my advice.

WHO WINS? if u want to look as good as greg plitt, then THE LETTER B WINS. Let me see u come up with something more dumb to say ANTWRIG. FACE MY POINT PUSSY ASS BITCH. STOP RUNNING AWAY FROM IT. U FAIL FAG!!!

  • @sodumb123 Hey man I tried to do alot of cardio and I never stick with it , but this guys advice and the trainers advice in gyms i went to sound the same . dude if u know a diff way pls drop me a line cause I will try something diff , for real I want to drop lbs with out getting bored and hurt , thnks man peace

  • i added u as a friend chiefthethief. what exactly is ur question? there are so many different exercises with weights OR ur body weight that u could do.

  • stop ignoring my main points dumbass. FACE THEM HEAD ON. oh thats right, u cannot. BECAUSE EVERYTHING I SAID IS CORRECT. go ahead.... keep ignoring, because u are a dumbass/pussy/cannot face the facts.

  • Comment removed

  • actually u could do 45-60 minutes of cardio 4-5 times per week. u just wont last a year (let alone a couple of months). because u have to fit in weight lifting too and all that other stuff. ANd u have to eat a shit load of food to avoid getting skinny fat. all this rediculous amounts of cardio will make u loose muscle, make u more hungry, and u wont keep ur habit of working out long enough (u will burn urself out and get all depressed/full of cortisol months into it)

  • Now, you pin it down on time management. When you are doing HIIT running, where do your body go for energy? It goes straight to carb stores. After those are depleted where does it go? That's right to muscle mass. With an increased heart rate, you're body does not have time to breakdown the fat in your body for energy production.

Now continue to live up to your name. You're doing a great job!

  • wow okay. u clearly are a fucking dumbass. because u just ignore everysingle thing i said. u are a fucking idiot. Since u cannot win and u know i am right; u just ignore everything i said, u just ignore my main points etc etc. THEn u just go ahead and post this stupid crap (which makes no sence as a proper counter argument to what i said). People who cannot come with someone intelligent; ignore the truth and keep talking like they know what their saying.

  • @sodumb123's argument....

I'm actually concerned myself... cortisol levels spike up 40 minutes after cardio at 70% heart-rate and whenever I do something like this (i.e run 8km's for an hour...) I don't have enough energy to lift weights anymore.

=/ tips anyone? i weigh 113 lbs, but I want my gains to be mostly muscle :) I do commando pull-ups but not the real ones meh =/

  • and also u think greg plitt looks good because all this cardio he does? he is DOING AN ADVERTISEMENT. SELLING SHIT. this is false advice he is giving to people. GREG PLITT LOOKS that good because of his weight lifting. that is what i am saying and u fucking bastard antwrig say i am wrong? wow.... lets see u do a one hand pullup. i bet ur fat ass cant even do 2 hand pullups. stupid ass mother fucker. Ur trying to look smart by questioning what i said. but in fact it backfired.

  • if im going to be doing cardio should i also take weight gainers/ protein shakes?

  • 1-2 times per week 15-20 minutes (sprint intervels 6-7 times OR very fast jogging followed by a sprint at the very end) IS ALL U NEED. then focus all ur efforts on increasing ur poundage in bench press/squats/other weight lifting related shit. This stupid video above is setting u up for failure (if u want to look as good as greg plitt).

  • SoDumb123, you are indeed dumb. There are no studies showing that HIIT running is better or even beneficial to losing bodyfat. Note, I didn't weight. Yeah, with HIIT you will lose weight... water AND muscle. Now, go ahead and continue to spew your nonsense.

  • wow. First of all i can do one hand pullup (1 rep), bench way more than my bodyweight, deadlift 300+ (alot of reps) etc etc etc. Iv been working out for 3 years. I think i know what i am saying faggot. Look at marathon runners, then look at sprinters. COmpare their bodies. U are the dumb ass here. U WILL BE NOTHING BUT A SKINNY FAT GUY IF ALL U DO IS 45-60 MINUTES OF CARDIO (4-5 times per week). I bet u anything u look like a skinny fat guy in real life.

  • guys dont be fooled into thinking u gonna look amazing by doing 45-60 minutes of cardio 4-5 times per week. Remember greg plitt benches like 495 pounds (1 rep). The only reason why greg looks so good is because of the weight lifting he does. U will not last 1 year doing 45-60 minutes 4-5 times per week (let alone a couple of months); not to mention it WILL NOT make u look as good as Greg Plitt. Keep it 15-20 minutes of cardio (but JOG FASTER/sprint intervels). and LIFT HEAVY WEIGHTS.

  • and you can easily lose your muscle if you are doing too much of cardio.

  • Comment removed

  • nice chick in the back round i'd suck those tittys nice

  • mm. milky sucky tits XD

  • u have to b unemployed to b able to have a body lyk dat.... bt still v do try our best!

  • Cardio: 45-60mins, 4-5 times a week

    Chest: 30-45mins, 3 times a week

    Arms: 30-45mins, 2-3 times a week

    Legs: 30-45mins, 2 times a week

+ Abs + Back + Lower back + Ass + Head + Neck + (any additional body part gifted only to you)....

In other words, you have to be unemployed to be a bodybuilder..

  • @littledaemon

    hahahahah

    well said!

  • @littledaemon that has to be the dumbest thing ive ever heard

  • if you have a negative IQ & don't get things easilky, why blame others then?

  • @littledaemon because that is the dumbest thing he's ever heard, and same for me u thick twat.. im going through college but not all of us want to be fat cunts like you and we still manage to workout, so fuck off u loser
