  • Donyboy, do you have any video on stihl chain oil'er ? i dont think it's getting oil to the chain though it has oil in it. Thanks

  • nice

  • Hey Dony, Would you recommend a Echo or Sthl saw for regular firewood cutting? As far a durability, power, and value. Also which warranty is better?

  • @ML424wr I would buy a stihl before echo

  • Outstanding dude! Thanks you!

  • @Patriot36 thanks dude!

  • The STIHL is a excelent brand :)

  • Great job on the 4 part series. I accually feel like I could do it myself after watching this.

  • Do you have any videos showing reassembly of the centrifugal brake mechanism?.. anything which might give me the idea in respect of an MS 361.

  • @alcobaseta at the moment i don't

  • @donyboy73 Thanks anyway. It was worth asking the question as I think I have just worked out why I can't install the centrifugal brake. After chopping down a phoenix palm down the corrosive goo has blistered the surrounding aluminium squeezing it against the clutch housing. Like the idea of the rope down the spark plug hole as a piston stop and very handy to know the clutch is left hand threaded.. Now to find a northern hemisphere parts supplier. They are off the charts expensive here in NZ.

  • wonder if you can help - got a ms230 and for the life of us we canw work out how to re instal the return mechanism on the break. Everything else is in place - the only part we cant figure out is a small wire piece with a loop on one end and a l on the other?

    many thanks

    B

  • @craftsmank Hope I am not talking out of turn or that I have not completely misunderstood you.. but would it make sense to say disconnect the spring that holds the break on first. Release that an everything fals into place then hook it up last.

  • @alcobaseta Many thanks, problem solved.

    B

  • @craftsmank That is brilliant. So pleased that you manged to sort it.. with a little help from your friends :-)

  • Great saws but the you have to take apart so much crap on my one craftsmen or in other words crapsmen you just have to remove all the mounting bolts and the clutch and that is pretty much it the whole engine comes out!!! My dad has the same saw!!! Works good!

  • great movies !!!

  • saw these advertised on a chinese site called Aliexpress, are they fakes or do you know anything abt them? they are (or look) exactly the same as this

  • @freqeist the saws are clones or copy of the saw

  • is it a good chainsaw, generally?

  • @freqeist yes i would recommend this saw

  • @freqeist what sort of stuff can it tackle?

  • so do you use rim sockets?

  • I have an MS250 with 18" bar, it's a great little saw for firewood. I alway wear proper protective gear though.

I love those big saws, MS 660 and MS880, but can't justify the expense. I'd love to see one taken apart though.

  • @TheWhupper if ever one comes in I'll make a video

  • Thanks for this great tutorial. It is very detailed, great for beginners such as myself who fear the inside of these saws. I usually take my chainsaw to be tuned and cleaned, but since seeing your video I was able to dive into the challenge and even went further with the winter clean before storage. It looks new again and runs like a top.

  • You said compression is nice and high for a 45 cc saw, What is a nice high compression for this size saw? or an average compression reading for a well running chainsaw in general? thanks

  • @kodibass between 110-150 psi

  • what was wrong with it in the first place should i get a husky instead

  • @MrJustinBouchard -- As explained in an earlier video, the chainsaw was a gift from an acquaintance. Both the piston and the cylinder were very badly scored; consequently, the saw's compression was very poor (lots of leakage from the cylinder). But with a new piston, rings and cylinder... well, you saw the results.

  • good job thanks for the video of him I would use such a saw stihl, and now I know how to replace clutch

  • Great job.

  • Nice job man how much did you charge to do that?

  • @th19940305 it was for a friend, but it would have been expensive

  • Excellent series of videos. I got a 028 in a box from my brother I aam going to see if I can put it together following your videos. Very informative. Thanks for taking the time to document.

  • @70soundwave the 028 is slightly different

  • @donyboy73 I got it going thanks to your video. It runs like new I just have to get a bar and chain now. Youtube kicks Ass

  • @70soundwave awesome job dude, tell ur friends about my channel!

  • pdf works fine bigbonesbilly2001 on yahoo

  • the problem is that now i have these 3 wires i can't figure out where to rehook to the coil or cilynder head...

so there are 2 attached to eachother coming down from the spark plug then another single wire with two round connectors on each side i can't remember where it goes...i should have taken a pic when I took it apart.

if you have just a pic of that it would be awesome!

Bless you for what you do on youtube

    Cheers
