  • Well done Cameron, finally someone made a decent decision on behalf of us for once....

  • I know the cuts are harsh, but I honestly think that David Cameron is the only politician that has our interests at heart. Can you imagine what would have happened if Labour were still in? And yes the BBC are a bunch of biased idiots. "We don't want to join the Euro", You got that right Cam!!!

  • As Thatcher once said: ''They are trading partners, and nothing else'' - She got that right.

  • from US: Cameron's a talker.. luke-warm, not 'tough enough'.

  • Well done Mr. Cameron, now lets tackle Muslim radicals with the same no-nonsense attitude!

  • Boy that EU was a hell of an experiment wasn't it lol

  • Look at the comments from you sheeple. So indoctrinated you keep believing this liar and the corrupt media circus around him. WAKE UP and realise there was NO TREATY TO SIGN. Cameron wanted no part in drawing up a new treaty. The eason for this is he does not want to be in the position to have to offer the public a referendum on Europe. Which by the way was one of his pre-election promises. Only promise he actually kept was ring-fencing foreign aid. He is a thoroughly dishonest man.

  • @1GIOCATORE1 Oh dear..... Paranoid.

  • the BBC is a leftist pro euro protect so it makes scene that they will be biased towards Cameron and when he does the right thing they all turn on him and try and make it look as if he made the wrong choice.

  • David Cameron - thank fully has made the right decision... GOD is moving in this PROPHETIC TIME guys!!!

Awesome time for this country! Did you know what "BRITAIN" means in HEBREW... "It means a COVENANT LAND & A COVENANT PEOPLE..." Read Matthew 21 - v 43

  • euro is going down!!! CAMRON DID THE RIGHT THING

  • Well done Dave at last we have said NO!...handing over more powers to a useless bunch of eurochrats who basicaly want 'our money' for perverted schemes....

  • BBC wake up.

  • The BBC just represent fellow Guardian readers and the wishy washy champagne guzzling middle class socialists. It is the sort of people I went to school with and I don't like because of their lazy attitude.

Well done Cameron. The Euro will never work, and they they should not ponce of the UK taxpayer as he have are own homegrown ponces ie people on benefits/ lower classes to look after, so that they can be kept in beer and fags

  • What Cameron was really itching to say was that 'We don't want to be part of a treaty that removes freedoms and democracy for other countries in Europe.' We basically said no to the gang rape and financial enslavement of other EU countries as well as keeping democracy for the UK.

  • @jamespeacevern oh really ??!! I agree with you on financial enslavement of other EU countries, but keepeing democracy in UK ?? c`mon .UK is one of the most supervised countries in the world . you cannot move a finger .Eyes are everywhere . But the cruel reality is that UK is the pawn of the USA . After this new treaty USA will have access only in UK . the rest of the europe is shuttin down for them ( financial speaking ) EU wants to be independent.I dont know if its a good thing or a bad thing

  • @edwarddd89 I agree that we are overly supervised....this was massively ramped up over the last 10 years or so with the excuse of terrorism (even arrests of opposition MP's..BUT we stand a better chance of putting things right with an elected parliament in control of our country than an un-elected bureaucracy in the form of the EU Commission etc hundreds of miles away. I do not agree about the USA, but they are a natural friend with a culture closer to ours than the EU. EU needs us for trade...

  • @edwarddd89 also....,much of the loss of our liberty comes from the EU....look at Bulgaria where my girl friend comes from. They find them selves with cameras and ID cards etc shoved down their throat all part of them joining the EU. They have gone from one overlord to another in the form of the EU which is run by the worst kind of undemocratic institution you can have (the Commission)... bureaucrats, technocrats with a belief they know better than the free peoples of Europe.

  • The reporter's comments might have been stupid from a British perspective, but being an American this interview has overwhelmingly sufficed my curiosity into why the UK rejected the treaty. With my limited knowledge that the ECSC had its origins in the aftermath of WWII with a mandate for economic growth and member integration to prevent future war, these questions seemed highly pertinent, extremely valid and far from stupid.

  • Well done Cameron, this is your silver lining for sure.

I'm eager to see what has to be said in the House of Commands.

  • 'isolated on Europe' or should that be 'taking a stand'

    - no labour line 'innit' beeb

  • "Are we better of outside the Euro? YOU BET WE ARE!?"

    aye aye captain aye aye!

  • The BBC are beyond disgusting. People are finally realising what the BBC really stand for. It's almost illegal to protect your national interests and take pride in your country. Well I'v made my mind up and it's my country and Cameron who I'm taking pride in. Not the BBC.

  • The implicit package in the Sarkozy Merkel treaty was that the new regulations would effectively put an end to London being a financial center in the EU, and transfer all (big) banking to Frankfurt. That was the goal. They want to suck all the money coming into the EU to Germany, but London is taking away a big chunk of it. Thats behind all this.

  • I regret this development as I think the UK should be a 1st class member in the EU even if it was a 2nd class one in the past. But this probably was a turning point after which it will find itself in the 3rd class or even outside.

The British obviously do not understand what the idea of the EU stands for. It´s not only about trading, free market etc. - it´s about a common culture, common values and at least a common future that can match upcoming countries like China.

  • @anonymusum Yes we do, we understand the face of what the EU should of been, but it's failed, plain and simple.

    The EU is finished.

  • @StarCraftRaver

We both don´t know if the EU failed. It´s a unique work in progress that will have something like an end in many years. But as so many British seem to think like you it´s obviously better for you to leave. As I said I would regret it though.

  • I don't like BBC at all... Mr. Cameron is a wonderful man.

  • BBC really are pathetic, aren't they? Biased bastards

  • biased as it gets

  • Why is the Union Flag upside down?

  • If we aren't in the decision making anymore then what are we paying to be in ther EU club for?

  • Cameron FTW, signing this treaty would have been a complete nonsense. Why give up freedom of fiscal policy while your monetary policy is independent? Why put your head into a german+french guillotine?

  • @szetbaszom Yeah because we have such a great track record of regulating our own fiscal policy.

  • Look at the UK's growth, we are not in a stronger position, we are arrogant and unhelpful and selfish. Fuck Britain, I can see why everyone hates us.

  • @LoneRookRS1

    fuck off then!

  • @aerozeppelin2 Where? I'm stuck with you guys and your crazy nationalist ideas.

  • The interviewer is being obtuse. Mr. Cameron seems to be right on the money!

  • If it's a treaty where's the referendum he promised..?

  • What a ridiculously biased interview.

  • @gshooting Yes it was extremely biased, I still think Cameron handled the interview very well. Most people are generally aware that the BBC is anti-conservative and will take this into account.

  • I'd like to say well done David Cameron, but I wonder how long it will be before he changes his mind...

  • @fatalist6o9 If he changes his mind then the majority public will start voting for far right parties.

  • "The Right Thing" - can anybody define what this actually is ? our last three or four career priministers seam to repeat this at every opportunity, perhaps it is just another piece of rhetoric that is indoctrined into these Uni-Grad career politicians back at university ???
