  • Fabulous book.

  • Murikami is multimedia reading.

    Regards from Scotland

  • Wow this song is so crazy. Glad I looked it up. I didn't even know music like this existed in the world.

And speaking of 1Q84, Ushikawa is the best character ever, including his appearance in Wind Up Bird Chronicles. I hope one day Murakami dedicates an entire book to him. That would be so awesome.

  • I am still reading it too

  • yesssssssssssss

  • *the one by far is his best to me.

  • @dysonwolf Yes sir. I have read every English printed Murakami story, this one by far isne

  • So do I!

  • Just got the book.

  • yes same here ... but also because somebody send me a link to Schubert's Triade, which is obviously mentioned in Kafka on the Beach ... the constant mentioning of certain music reminds me of another favorite of mine 'An Equal Music' by Vikram Seth. So good to read with the recommended music ...

  • Me ;)

  • The book reads so well with this playing the background.

  • Tengo was a tympanist

  • Tengo here was playing some kind of drum right? I'm confused I'll re-read that chapter again. About the sinfonietta, I thought it mas more sportie, it's beautiful though.

  • @dysonwolf Of course! What a great read...it kept me up at night more than once....

  • Anyone else here because Haruki Murakami's 1Q84?

  • @dysonwolf YES!

  • @dysonwolf Guilty. Really tying to find the whole piece somewhere. Also, I'm trying to recall what part Tengo could have played when he was a kid? I guess it would be the first movement, with those overwhelming timpani?

  • yes, of course, what else? :-)

  • I bet we tried reading the first pages with this as a background to know how Aomame felt.

  • @dysonwolf YES!!!! every time i read murakami I want to hear the music, drink the beer, and the food.

  • @dysonwolf Yup

  • @dysonwolf I started reading it this week and had to check out the music. Loving the book but Murakami is probablymy favourite author.
