I think his middle name is after Gen. Horatio Gates from the American Revolution. When we learned about it last year, everytime someone mentioned Horatio Gates, I thought of McCoy. Second, Roddenberry really liked the name Horatio. One of the Captain's original names was Horatio Hornblower, no kidding! =D Love the video by the way!
