when i go away from home for more than 2 months, i don't get emotional like them whenever my family members called me. besides, i don't really call home either. hahah! enjoying myself too much away from home. lol.. sorry for being insensitive but ... i think these contestants are way too emotional. i can understand contestants from first 3 seasons were emotional if they got to hear from home because they are all alone... but now, they all have partner with them! someone close to them from home.

In fact no one is really grown-up. If you can't stay away from home for a few weeks, let it be, stay at home. This is so ridiculous. I did a semster abroad and survived. But then I am not so emotionally fragile. Guess all these overweight people are so weak they cannot survive in an alien evironment for some week. Maybe there should be psychologically support during the show. I feel like the contestants need more psychological help than physical.

Oh dear god, now everybody's crying. Tsunami alert. Just once, I'd love some eejit's letter to tell them that their loved one has run off with their best friend, their dog's died, their kid's run away, and they're a pathetic loser with no reason to live...oh, and their test results came back positive. Sigh. Now THAT'S a letter worth receiving on (inter)national TV. Oh, the tears of laughter I'D cry at that one.

I think the reason Holly is falling apart so often is because her sister refuses to show any affection or even partnership with her. Holly knows the only way they are going to get through it is with teamwork. Mel won't even let Holly touch her. I think Mel should have put hard feelings away for this game and tried to be friendly.

@TheBuzzard333 I think that Mel and Holly probably came from a very dysfunctional home and they're simply acting the same way they would under stress in any situation. What functional parent would allow one child to abuse another year after year? It's a parent's responsibility to foster positive relationships between their children. Clearly that didn't happen in their home.

Annoying that they do this every year! Surely part of the reason they are there is to learn that they can't just have what they want when they want? And I don't get why they are all so emotional about it...although the Cameron bit was quite touching :-)

There seems to be loads more 'i was so scared, I was so nervous, I didn't know what was going on, I was getting so worried' this year too...grrr Still love it tho, thanks for posting!!!

Exactly.And why do they get excited when he lets everyone see the letters. Like he wasn't gonna give them to everyone? Who wouldn't give them to everyone? And why do people cry when they should know after 3 seasons of this crap that everyone gets something? People need to cut the drama. Especially the mel and holly sisters-christ could you be more dramatic. It has only been like 3 or 4 weeks away from home-calm down.

The letters don't mean as much to everyone when they have someone there with them in the competition. Also they usually give the winner the option to allow the others to get their letters anyway. If the contestants watched the prior seasons they should know that.

It's more like 4 - 6 weeks in real terms, they go away for a week or so before leaving and then the first week we see as viewers is as much as 3 real weeks.

Basically, a week in the biggest loser house has no semblance to a real week.

How do you know this exactly? I mean, I'm sure 1 week there isn't really a 7 day week. But I surely doubt it really is 3 weeks.

Some of the production weeks are longer...the first week, the period between the last show and the finale, etc., but they are still referred to in the show as a "week". Most of the show, however, a production week is pretty close an actual week.
