I don't know if you want to try this or not, but I just came up with an idea that spreads out the gas in the bottom of your bubbler and gives you a steady stream of micro bubbles across the entire width of the bubbler.
Feed your gas to a 3 or 4 inch aquarium bubble wand at the bottom of your bubbler.
I think this might also help with scrubbing the bubbles of any electrolyte contaminants.
