Actually have curly hair and over the years Ive had my hair cut wet and dry before and I got to say cutting my hair dry was a lot better than have it cut wet. It's because the stylist can see how the shape of the hair and the type of curl is going to be when dry giving them a better idea of where to cut. Also curl hair doesn't have to be even because if it is it kinda looks bad ... you pretty much get the shape of a pyramid on your head... trust I know!

@diipped the fact that she has curly hair doesn't necessarily mean she UNDERSTANDS how it works. from what i can see, she cuts and handles it pretty much the same way as one would cut straight hair. she's in the majority, though - every stylist does that, they don't have enough knowledge about curly hair.

This is 100% WRONG!!! I am a hairdresser and the only fool-proof way to cut curly hair is to moisturize it (not drenching wet or super-dry). Then you cut each curl individually. Keep hair moisturized and do not "wash" it more than twice per week. You can't condition it enough. And NEVER comb or brush it. Always run your fingers through. Also never diffuse more than 50% dry. This video needs to be removed.

I was taught you should cut curly hair wet. You should cut it dry, because it easier to manage and you don't run the risk of cutting the hair too short. curly hair usually "shrink"(lack of a better word) once it is dried.

Yuh i have seen alot of hair stylist do this, they almost treat their clients like they treat the mannequins that they used in practice. this is why i started cutting my own hair, cause i couldnt STAND the stylists tugging at my head like it was numbed.. sigh. but to each their own ^^
