I can't figure out how I feel about Tobias Sammet's singing in general. Sometimes it's great, and sometimes it sucks ass, like in 1995's Savage Poetry. I think this album was better than everything Edguy has made excluding Rocket Ride.

@Spencer12404 Don't forget that in 1995 Tobi was only 18 years old and at the time he was probably just beginning to learn to sing professionally. He developed his true voice around 2000 in my opinion. And he's actually still improving - maybe he doesn't have that power and range due to smoking and in general becoming older but I think his voice is more emotional nowadays.

The only connection between the album & a "satanic theme" is Jorn's "character," who sort of represents the voice of temptation, a sort of Mephistopeles figure, as Tobias does note that Scarecrow is in some ways a "Faust story," of which every person has his or her own personal version or experience. And that's a loose connection at best, based on how deliberateky vague Tobi is in his discussion.

@KeusFrench No you don't. Artists don't get nearly that much money for albums. For a $20 CD that has a record label, an artist may only get a dollar or two. The rest of it gets divided to the said record label, managers, CD packaging, etc. And there aren't many metal bands like this that sell even 10,000 albums, let alone 100k.

I know it's sad, which is why I admire people that are willing to play music like this, this kind of music will rarely get you rich. You have to love it to keep at it.

The only thing i wish would be in this song... If Roy Khan would have pushed his voice a little more. This song shows so little of the power of his voice. Sammet's voice is also so distinct. Such a powerful combo.

His vocal in this song is a completely different aspect of him comparing Kamelot and I am totally amazed by it.
