  • Brian Cloughs was the old version of Morinho..

  • Soccer, Football, no matter what you call it, it is still full over paid and over hyped blokes playing a sport. Think about it, eleven men kicking a ball of air from one side of a pitch to the other. Guys get a grip, why are you arguing over a bunch of footballers that are good for nothing, talentless tossers.

  • @FilmTrailersChannel If you think like that, then every sport in the world is stupid.. hockey, shooting a puck and tackling each other unconscious, tennis hitting a smal ball with sticks and have a fucked up scoring system,

haha and saying that they are talentless only makes you look very stupid, try bend a ball like Beckham and lets se who's talentless.. idiot.

  • @primaxwarpower You miss my original statement. I am not willing to argue over football or any sport, they are not worth it. And I stand by what I say, full of over paid and over hyped blokes playing a sport. By the way, Beckham can bend a ball, but can he change a plug... :)

  • @FilmTrailersChannel hahah okey dude I respect ur look on sports but I don't agree, everyone has their own opinion about everything. And no i don't think Beckham would have the intellectual capacity to changfe a plug ;)

  • @primaxwarpower "And no i don't think Beckham would have the intellectual capacity to changfe a plug ;)" lol

It's nice to disagree from time to time, it what makes arguing fun :)

  • @FilmTrailersChannel haha word

  • Here come the yanks thinking "soccer" is shit. Wake up ya bastards, your fucking pussy sports will never be as popular as this. Football. The world's game.

  • @swansmad1996 OMFG ur so fuckin stupid i dont even no what to say O.O

  • @TheMagen96 fuck off you cunt, i'm right so piss off

  • @swansmad1996 =_=" inside america "football" (lol u dont use foot in this game so WTF?) is the most popular game... outside america? THE REAL football is much MUCH more popular.

  • @TheMagen96 thats the point im making......

  • Anyone that calls "Sawker" Football can "Suck it"...

  • its FOOTBALL COUCH !!!

  • Who cares if it's soccer or football if it's in another country? I can't believe our TV sets in the U.S. are bloated with the royal families' pretentious nonsense. Who cares about their meaningless wedding? The same people that get enraged that someone calls a sport a different name in another country. They are a figurehead family. Talk about things that make no sense.

  • @owlandtree No wedding is meaningless.

  • @ScarlettOcean92 Ok, no wedding is meaningless. In context to the Royal family having any political meaning; yes the wedding is ultimately meaningless to the world. The only ppl the bloated orgy of vanity they call the "Royal Wedding" (look ma, I wonder wots the rich people are doing..) has true meaning for are the family and close friends. All the fiasco only serves to devalue marriage IMO.

  • @owlandtree well now you know what it is like having the US election rammed down our throats.

  • @98raza20 Hey, 18 months of preliminary media charlatan bombardment puke....You got me there, I completely understand.

  • In the 60s and 70s when the film is set, 'soccer' was a word still used in the UK in parallel to football albeit less . It comes from Association Football and is mistakenly thought to be an Americanism.

  • 'sawker coach', ugh

  • Why was this movie rated R? I just watched it like two weeks ago on netflix and I thought it would have gotten a PG-13

  • @Transformazione Only because the U.S is no good at it. LOL

  • @MrGreenbaypackersfan It was probably rated R for language. If you say the f-word more than like, 3 or 4 times, usually that gets an automatic R rating. And they do say it a lot ;)

  • Thank GOD Americans dont like Football.Stay with your softball,American "Football" (which is played with Hands, very logic)and the other BORING sports. So BORING like American Way of Life(and Death)

  • Peli muy recomendable, para futboleros y no futboleros únicamente :-)

  • Music at 1.36?

  • @billingeusy Geraldine by Glasvegas

  • ..lives in Mourinho..

  • I'm an italian supporter of FC Inter.I'm a supporter of Brian Clough and Peter Taylor, too.I think this is a great movie, the best football movie of ever values 1/10 of this movie..something of Cloughy leaves in Mourinho. However, this film learns that what's happening to Rafa Benitez is not good, Inter players think that because they are world champions they have nothing to learn any more..It's a pity, Inter could be the 1st team to win Champions league 2 times following..Great Brian Clough!

  • by the title i aas thinkin it was a joking with man utd

  • it was obvious i wasnt made by americans , because its about brian clough , and if it was american , it would be rubbish because they dont know about it .

  • history of football club Nottingham Forest, Brian Clough possessed almost the same character with a Mourinho?

Another funny thing in this film there is no mention Chelsea club name! LOL

  • the music at the begining is so bad ass, does anybody know what is its name?

  • @miroa12004 It's Geraldine by Glasvegas

  • @heliotropezzz333 thanks but i was talking about the music that starts from 00:00 till 00:35

  • lol americans think "Football" (American football that is) is hard, when in rugby you can do anything to take the mn down except go above the neck and you don't get SOOO much padding and protection

  • Probably the best movie about football ever! Great atmosphere and Martin Sheen is acting perfectly! I´m Croatian and never heard about Clough but after the movie I did read a lot on the internet and he is one of the greatest persons of British football! It´s sad that traditonal clubs like Nottingham or Leeds are not playing in the premier league.

  • Watched this last night , adore Michael Sheen and he had Brian Clough off to a tee. Not a fan of football at all, but it was fascinating to watch - Another Flawed genius me thinks lol.

  • one of the best football films eva!!

  • One thing that they dont say in the movie...He lost the final world cup 1980 with Nottighan Forest against Nacional of Uruguay...the best team in the world..

  • Fantastic Film, seen it last night ! Brian Clough a sadly missed legend

  • Does this movie have nudity in it? Does Michael Sheen show his wiener?

  • Yeah, your should should check out Billy Bremner rimming out Don Revie and Glasgow Rangers

  • I watched this movie earlier tonite and I loved. Great flick.

  • Seriously now, it has been said enough and is pretty clear:

    SOCcer <- asSOCiation football

The term has, at times also been in use in Oceania, as well, to differentiate from Aussiie Rules, and indeed, Rugby FOOTBALL.

Everything to do with technical terminology...

  • Yes, Association football is a type of football -the original football. Rugby football is another type of football, and American football is another type of football. Who else refers to football as soccer except Americans?

  • @heliotropezzz333 - Canadians, Australians and Kiwis (although the latter two have renamed their organizations to feature the term 'football' even though the term 'soccer' is common vernacular). The reason for this, of course, is because there is aussie rules football.

I don't care for the term 'soccer' but the reasoning for it's purpose is convenience. Any suggestion American's use the term out of arrogance is nothing more than lazy, reflexive anti-americanism and base bigotry.

  • @Pillzbug I don't understand your message as the first part is not a sentence. It has no verb. Is part of it missing? I'm not bigoted. If most of the world calls a sport by a certain name then when referring to that sport it's courtesy to use the name rather than change it for the convenience of a few. That's laziness to my mind. However I don't feel strongly enough about the subject to continue any debate beyond this.

  • Do they recreate the incident when Brian clouted that kid on the pitch? Lol thatbwas pure class. Also when is this out on dvd?

  • It's been out on DVD for some time now.

  • onlywhenpissed, I think it's been on DVD/Blu-ray in England for a while, but it comes out in America next Tuesday, Feb. 23.

  • @gallogollop whatever. doesn't change the content...

and i'm not american at all

  • Just seen it. For me it's a great football movie, maybe the best one...

If you love football and good movies you have to see it soon !

  • soccer??? It's called FOOTBALL! not the american fake rugby you americans call football!

  • @gallogollop

Soccer is a term invented by the British. Again British nobles coined the term. Once peasants and lower class people began playing the game the nobles did not want to be associated with them in this way. They coined to term "football" to degrade and make the sport seem below them.

  • @pgoody It was not the British nobles who coined the term. The term soccer originated in England, first appearing in the 1880s as an Oxford "-er" abbreviation of the word "association",often credited to former England captain Charles Wreford-Brown.Today the sport is known as football in English-speaking countries in which it is the most popular football code. see full explanation in wikipedia.

  • @pgoody. That is just wrong.

  • it's called football, because it's actually played with the feet. Not that American "football" that's played with the hands, calling that football doesn't even make sense.

  • @kristererik american football is played with both and your comment is kinda senseless because it explains something which everyone knows...

  • well by that logic all sport thats are played with both feet and hands should be called football then? Basket ball, rugby, lacrosse, bandy, handball etc...

  • @kristererik I do not play football, I do not watch football, but if playing football with the hand is more fun for the players and the audience then by all means use the hand, who givs a shit about technical terms.

  • It's not about technical terms, its about the cultural hegemony of the U.S. They don't play or like football much but the rest of the world does. The rest of the world calls it football, but the U.S. seems to insists on calling it soccer, which is irritating for the rest of the world. I suppose they don't want to confuse it with American football.

  • "Rhode Island is neither a road nor an island. Discuss."

  • @kristererik I'm from America and even I call it football. American "football" I usually refer to as throwball

  • @kristererik Yes, it does. The kicker uses his feet in American football. ;-)

  • @kristererik

There is a reason American football is called as such. Its because people played it on their feet. Whereas other sports, noble sports, were played on horseback... Read up on your history...

  • @kristererik nice one

  • @kristererik The ball is 1 foot long

  • haha lol 1:56 blue shirt

that guy goes to my school in year 10

  • Glasvegas - Geraldine

  • Love to see a movie about Brians Forest years.

  • i love tht tune/song @ the start of this trailer!!!! it's also n the film wen turning bak time or goin foward!!!!!!!! any1 no wat its called?

  • I recomend the film to all those who havent yet seen it. Michael Sheen is great as Brian Clough. Fuck the Derby County board, Fuck Leeds Utd, and Fuck DON REVIE. Brain Clough and Peter Taylor R.I.P. Brian Clough is the greatest England manager they never had.

  • I have read the book and I got into it so much! It is just amazing.

So far I haven´t had the possibility to watch the movie, but I will do soon!

  • theres only 1 don revie

  • Michael Sheen as Nero (?), Tony Blair, Robert Frost, and now Brian Clough. Def. one of the best actor in his generation.

  • I loved, loved, loved this, and I'm not even too familiar with soccer, nor how big it is in Europe. Michael Sheen was fantastic.

  • god that american accent really does ruin it. im sorry, but in this case, it just does..

  • Scene: Leeds vs. luton- Sept 7 1974.

    10. The caption says Leeds lost 1-0. Manny Cussins states that its Leeds worst start to a season in 20 years, with four points in five games. A post-match team meeting appears to usher Cloughs sacking.

FACT: Leeds- luton ended 1-1, with Allan Clarke scoring for Leeds. This match was the sixth game. The most significant team meeting took place before the league cup game away at Huddersfield three days later. Clough was sacked two days after luton game.

  • @LUFCpickerzWACCOE75 Well, authors and film producers rarely let the real facts get in the way of a good story, but I think most people would know it's not 100% accurate. It does convey the atmosphere of football at that time very well though. It's a great piece of nostalgia, even if it's annoyingly innaccurate at times. There aren't many films about football, so it's to be welcomed from that perspective, and it is enjoyable.

  • @heliotropezzz333

It is an enjoyable film but the number of mistakes that are made are abysmal.

Also they seem to have followed the southern press view in the 70s who hated succesful northern clubs- we were "dirty", "scum". Even though we only ever topped the disciplianry charts once.

It is very biased and as for johnny giles. the small irishman. well in this film he looks like a giant who came from a rolling stones party. disgraceful and cringeworthy

  • @LUFCpickerzWACCOE75. I used to watch football then and remember seeing Derby County. I lived in the Midlands and it seemed to me that the dirtiest teams were from the South but Leeds's football tactics then were to score a goal and then all pile back into defence for the rest of the game. As this was often a succesful tactic for them, the concern was that all teams would copy Leeds leading to duller football. Clough believed in playing exciting football.

  • @heliotropezzz333

Yes, i admit that was our reigning tactic but you cant deny that in the 1973/74 season we werent won of the most attacking, fluent, best teams around with the ball at our feet.

  • @LUFCpickerzWACCOE75 I don't doubt it.

  • the mistakes were done on purpose so that it can be dramatizied into a film, without these mistakes the film wouldn't have been as enjoyable is it was, all of "based on a true story films" contain fiction scenes to help the drama of the film, and this one was no different.

  • 9. After Billy Bremners sending off in the charity shield against Liverpool at Wembley, Clough is shown to plead Bremners case to the FA.

FACT: Clough didnt go to London with the Leeds captain; he left the job to his assistant Maurice Lindley.

  • Scene: Marcella beach. 1973

    8. With a caption that reads 1973, Clough and Taylor go to Spain to relax before taking the reigns at Brighton. However Cloughs sunbathing is interrupted by Kith Archer, Leeds secretary, offering him the job at Elland Road- leading to a row with Taylor about their promise to Brighton chairmen, Mike Bamber.

FACT: The scriptwriters get into a horrible tangle here. Revie didnt leave Leeds until the SUMMER OF 1974. Also Clough managed brighton a whole season from 1973.

  • Scene: Derby vs. Leeds 1973 (Baseball ground)

    7. The film claims this game comes on the Saturday before Derbys crucial European cup semi final against Juventus, when Leeds Dirty tactics robs Brian Cloughs side of a number of key players.

FACT: Leeds played Derby a month earlier, with Derby travelling to Arsenal on the day in question.

  • 6. As a nervous Brian Clough waits in his office, Taylor comes down to report that the result was a 2-1 win. This result simply does not exist

FACT: Derby did beat Leeds 2-0 at home on their way to the title in 1972, Cloughs first victory over Leeds came in 1970 with a 4-1 win when Leeds fielded a weakened side as they focused on the European and FA cups.

  • 5. The first meeting between the sides after Derbys promotion ends with the caption Leeds 5 Derby 0.

FACT: It ended 2-0 to Leeds, with Allan Clarke scoring both goals. Leeds did beat Derby 5-0 at Elland Road three years later in 1972, When Derby were reigning champions.

  • The film says that Leeds goalscorers that day were Allan Clarke and Johnny Giles (a penalty).

FACT: Jack Charlton and Peter Lorimer scored in that game- Which also means Billy Bremners Dive for a penalty and the cheating jibe from Taylor are Fabrications. Allan Clarke didnt actually join Leeds until the summer of 1969, a year and a half later. And he never wore the number 3.

  • 2. In the commentary Tony Gubba says "Derby are very much the underdogs against Leeds, the First Division champions"

FACT: In January 1968, Leeds were still 18 months from securing the First division title, Scumchester United were the reigning champions at the time.

    3. Roy McFarland, Derbys centre half is seen being carried from the pitch after a Johnny Giles foul, with commentary saying "He is out of the game"

FACT: McFarland infact played the whole 90 minutes.

  • Comment removed

  • I would like to bring you a list of all the factual errors in this film:

1.When the draw is made, Clough and Taylor are seen wildly celebrating the anticipated rivals of Leeds, with Clough then ordering the cleaners and the groundsmen to make the stadium fit for Don Revies team.

FACT: Leeds played at the baseball ground 10days before the FA cup tie- in the league cup semi final making Revies supposed "snub" on third round day very questionable.

  • Awesome movie. Great atmosphere, great interpretations. Must see for football fans and not only.

  • @dmny92

Even though there is so many lies in this film and really horrible mistakes. They seem to have re-written history in some parts

  • @LUFCpickerzWACCOE75 You may be right, I'm not English and I don't know this history. I only love english football and atmosphere.

  • how do they reckon leeds were the dominant force in british football back then total bollocks Celtic beat leeds @ home & away in europe & also beat them in Jack Charltons testimonial wish people would get there facts right!!!!!

  • I Like Him :)

  • hey guys which is the song played, when derby wins division 2 in the movie????

smthing like 'na na na nanaa na'.........

  • One of the best films of this year

  • these god damn americans call football "soccer", why dont they fuck*ng call their shitty american football ->"soccer"

football for life, brian clough the great........

  • @kevinruth07

Well actually although they say soccer, its a british word and origionates from football "association".

  • Awesome film. I saw it the first night it played St. Louis (last Friday). Must see.

  • It's not in the film but clough was one of the greatest british socialists of all time. He was a great man. The road from Derby to Nottingham is called Brain Clough Road

  • what an awesome film

  • in theatres right now... or maybe was...obviously limited engagement, was being shown at one cinema in my area (miami) but is already out of theatres because of limited interest...

  • does anybody knows when is it going to be released in dvd for region 1???

    great great greaaaat movie

  • Get a multi region player like the rest of the world does or get the code for your model off the internet.

  • well i guess i gotta see this weeeeeee :D

  • Fantastic film. Great watch and definitely a must see for every single football fan in the world. Best football film ever.

    Cheers from The Netherlands

  • rockandstroll <---

    FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!

    NOT "ENGLISH SOCCER"

"AMERICAN FOOTBALL" OR "FOOTBALL" AS U CALL IT, SHOULD'VE BEEN CALLED "AMERICAN RUGBY"

    THAT'S THE MOST ACCURACY... :@!!

  • Chill dude, lol, I am English, and I always call it football, I was just referring to it as "English soccer" so I didn't confuse the American I was replying to.

  • Suprised this will be out in America, didn't think Americans would find anything interesting about English soccer. Awesome movie thoe, you should read upon a bit about Brian Clough first to enjoy the movie more.

  • 1. It was out in United States and I saw it.

    2. Premier League Football is popular over here (GO MAN CITY!!)

    3. Know a bit about Brian Clough and his career, an American sports comparison might be the career of Yankees skipper Billy Martin (Clough's relationship with Peter Taylor was similar to the Martin/Steinbrenner mix) Sadly, death ended both relationships before they could be mended.

  • I can't speak for everyone, but to me it doesn't really matter as long as it's engaging and interesting.

I do enjoy the game though.

  • so how did it go? Did people go to see this in the U.S?

  • whats the name of the theme song? i love it!

  • The song is Echoes by Mikey and the Gypsys

  • is it me but the music in the background sounds like the melodic line in Geraldine by Glasvegas

movie looks brilliant, have to watch it

  • saw this from studs up

  • the guy playing don revie looks EXACTLY like him! i loved the movie, it was awesome. I hope you guys will enjoy it too

  • i was just thinking the exact same thing!!!!

  • 2 days til this hits theaters in the States (probably won't be anything popular since it's on limited release). I can't wait though. Already been hearing rumors about a possible Oscar nomination for Michael Sheen. Sounds awesome. And for all of you fellow Americans keeping up with English football, I am proud of you all good sirs.

  • It is a great film, Im not really into football but the film is a very good story with great actors, atmosphere and score!

  • great film, funny seeing the U.S trailer. its not soccer, football!

  • film of legend!

  • Anibody knows if the dvd sold in uk has the Italian language or italian subtitles??

  • no, it hasn't...

  • interesting to see how this quintessentially English - not British, even- film was marketed to the Americans ...

  • Honestly, right after this movie comes out in the US and people like it......there is all of sudden going to be made a Girls soccer movie on purpose......to show how soccers a girls sport and to stunt the growth of the sport here in the US........like what before.

  • Im a yank and I agree with you mate! America has not come to realize the football is a world sport! Not an Ameican sport! thats whats wrong with are country!! Manchester United!! Who R Ya!!

  • what a great film, and a ledgend.

  • I'll be honest, im disappointed in this. The way they portrayed clough is as tho he was a nobody. Wheres the charisma, the wit, the character of the man. They made Taylor look like the brains behind it all. Credit where its due, Taylor had an eye for a player. But Clough knew how to get the best from his players, he had awesome peope skills. The film also portrays him as tho he had some fetish with leeds and Don revie.

To top it off cloough grovels at the end?? NO WAY would clough do that?!!

  • Clough was the greatest manager England never had. Clough didn't hate Leeds, he hated what they stood for: Unattractive football and dirty tactics. And he was right to.

  • I actually agree with you, even though most others probably won't.

and Clough and Taylor didn't even make up in real life, Clough said himself that it was one of his biggest regrets,.

  • I'm geting thevmovie tomorrow

  • looks great

  • Do you know where I can get this version of Geraldine by Glasvegas as its a lot different?

  • Actually...that isn't "Geraldine," it's "Echoes" by Swedish band Mikey & the Gypsys!

  • nice Movie

    7.9/10

  • Looks great.

  • Really looking forward to it. The football scenes actually look half-decent! Much better than Goal 2...

  • I saw the movie already. I must warn you, the film doesn't focus on any game. There is hardly any footage of people actually playing football (or Soccer). The film focuses on what happened outside the field.

    Still a wonderful movie, though.

  • Yeah nah that's fine, I actually read a big preview in Four Four Two mag, and have become incredibly interested in the Brian Clough story, as in Aus we hear v. little about the characters of the english game.
