yep, when the bag had that little window on the front. and i find out on the last day of feb. that salsa rio AAAND sour cream n onion were available until march 1st!!
I have a friend who collects old product packaging, usually rescued from the bottom layer of hoarder's homes. He showed me a Dorito's bag like this, seventies, presumably. Interesting thing is, as far as I understand, these chips came with a Velveeta-esque cheese food product sauce packet one'd douse their chips in. Oh my!
The Nacho Cheese Flavor was actually a lot spicier compared to the "Nacho Cheesier" Flavor they have now. Back then, every other chip was heavily coated with that orange seasoning powder. You hardly see any orange powder on the chips these days!
@ChihuahuaboyDH yes but the sad thing is, do u remember when they introduced "nacho cheesier" that replaced this? It was supposed to have more cheese powder on it than ever but i dont know. i notice now it just says "nacho cheese" on the bag.
What is especially funny is that today is that the Nacho Cheese flavor is ubiquitous with Doritos. I can't even remember a day when Doritos weren't flavored and were just plain tortilla chips.
Man, this commercial brings back memories. I was 10 years old in 1979 and Avery Schrieber seemed to be all over the place on tv at the time: Tv sitcoms, game shows, commercials, etc. Avery was one of my favorites at the time.
