  • I'm wanting to make a mask but... I'm sort of paranoid about suffocating someone XD is there a risk of suffocation?

  • How much would all this cost?

  • ha awesome thanks for this, some good tips. Gonna do a half-face cast at some stage, and this is a great thing to show those involved

  • how the hell did u guys learn alll this? trial and error? iam blown away how good u guys r! just became a member of the hunters lair myself and iam very interested in buying/making my own suit!....as soon as i get out of the marines in a few onths lol

  • How much alginate was used?

  • Mom watching in the background so this guy stayed alive,, lol,, cool vid.

  • big d....your gay

  • Hmm...as for the material you pour into the finished mold, instead of plaster or somsuch, could it be liquid foam? I'd be lighter, but I dont know if it'll have a bad reaction or how strong it is...

  • @spellwing777

Yes you can pour foam. The only issue i would be worried about would be the heat factor. Most expanding rigid foams are self-curing because they create their own heat for curing (an exothermic reaction). So if your alginate is on the colder side or has a lot of surface moisture then that might effect it. I would try some little tests first but a self-skining foam would seem to work.

  • @spellwing777 Wait, NO. Foam will not cure if it has any contact with water, alginate sweats so you would have to seal it very thoroughly. I would suggest using lifecasting silicon or you are probably in for a disappointment. Good luck. x

  • @PennyLane411 Oh shi-really? Thanks for the warning dude, that could have ended BADLY.

  • Great tutorial!

  • baking soda and cheese cloth:) thanks buddy you saved my wallet.

  • D: You are fantastic and you have a great direction. I hope your friends that are watching are influenced by your positive role model. Bravo to mom in the background supporting you while she does the wash. Too bad all parents don't encourage their kids to do something like that to keep idle hands off the streets. Again, great job and best of luck to you.
