First of all, you're misinterpreting his words, as most do.. He's not the best speaker in the world, we know that..and we don't really need a great speaker to lead this country.. A timetable is a stupid idea, why let the enemy know when you're backing out? Since -when- was that a good idea? If there was a timetable, the public shouldn't know about it, it should be between their government and ours, so the press just needs to back the hell off of the idea of a timetable being released, idiots
Ok, first I want to say that I agree that saying "by date 'y' we will all be gone, meaning that by date 'x' we'll be weak as shit", you're essentially giving away a bit too much information to the people who you'd really not want to have.
But then I have to say you're wrong about needing a good 'speaker'. I'm not even going to go in to the whole intelligence thing because I think that would take the conversation down a route best not taken, instead, I will pose the following:
Imagine, if you will, that America's relations with N. Korea were on the verge of total collapse, and ground and air forces were being mobilised and put on high alert. America's alert level was raised to the highest level possible, and (God forbid) war looked imminent.
There's fear and panicking in the nation, every intelligence agency is receiving intel suggesting an attack...
Yeah, I would. Would you want Obama taking that call? Someone with absolutely no experience, and no knowledge of how to handle a situation like that? The only probable choice for that option we have is McCain. I'm not a big fan of McCain, but I fear he is the only option we have. Obama will lead this country down a worse path than we are already on. With the country in the shape it is, we NEED to have experience in the White House.
I think Obama is more intelligent, I think he has a higher level of integrity, and a better understanding of every issue covered in the debates (which I've watched in full). The President of the United States is the US' representative to the entire world. I can't believe Bush was voted in, and I can't see how McCain will be voted in - they're both idiots. And I'm not being childish, I really truly believe they're mentally inept.
Obama may be intelligent, but only on a single view of things. His plans, if they were to pass congress, would devastate this country. Failure to see that, shows a lack of intelligence on whoever that might be. He has a FEW plans that might do some good for the country, but the cons far outweigh the pros. McCain is our only option, Obama would be a mistake to put in control. He does not have a better understanding, he preps for the debate, and yes, he's a better speaker than McCain, hands down
But we do not need a 'good speaker' to be in control of this country. We need someone who shows a sign of strength, with no fear to succumb to what other nations want. We have to have someone that knows we are the dominant country in the world, and isn't afraid to stand for it. If we had no worries about war now or in the future, Obama might be a good choice, and only after he gets a few more years experience. He has none now, voting for Obama is like voting for me, I'm a nobody, with no exp.
Ok just for the record, the only thing that's being called in to question about Obama's 'experience' is in the foreign relations department, and that's hardly a point one can argue.
Leading economists and even members of the Replublic party have come out and publicly stated that Obama's plan to deal with the current economic crisis is the more sound option.
And one episode of the West Wing (lol) will show you that Obama will have all the support he needs in terms of international relations!
His foreign relations department, is pathetic. And that is the most important issue for this presidential election. His 'plan' to solve the economic crisis won't work. Neither one of them is smart enough to think up a plan to fix it. It's not the presidents job. His advisers will make a plan when they go over everything (which they aren't, yet), and put it in place. The economy can fix itself, if you want it fixed, shun the media out of it, and everything will be fine, don't tell us
when the economy is in bad shape, when we hear about it, we quit spending. That only makes it worse, if it wasn't in the news, the economy would be fine. That's my plan- and I'm only a fool so who knows.
Obama is just a shady character, no experience, in anything, not just foreign relations. He's a democrat, democrats control congress, blame them for the current crisis. They are the ones controlling the country, not Bush. A president is just a face, but it needs to be a strong one, not Obama.
He has been where? where? Hanging with VietCon and providing them all the secrets and where about of US bases and planes and remember he was released after 5 monthes after his capture.
You apparently didn't read the entire comment that Maliki made that was posted on Fox news. That particular sentence was one of many that was taken out of context where Maliki said that conditions are improving in such a way that troops can leave within a 16 months. Which is what the republicans are pushing for. Not a timetable that would mandate a withdraw after 16 months but an horizon where when conditions would be good enough that they can leave.
Bush/Cheney/McCain are absolutely terrified, they been justifying the Iraq war by saying they are there at the request of the Iraqi government, now the Iraqi government has said 16 months and out, and the administration's all like "oh, he's been mistranslated, he didn't actually mean what he seemed like he was saying" and someone else in the Iraqi government said "yes, that's what he said" and McCain's like "oh he wouldn't ask us to leave, I know him, we're buds!"
As bad as that was he could still be 10 times better than Bush is currently. But hey, who cares, his family is worth billions. Couldn't get it to trillions in his 7 year tenure, damn you Middle Easterners.

Obama wants to be ruler of the world, as his stunt in Germany proved. He's not a real Christian, denying Christ for other religions and saying there are many paths to heaven.
He's in big trouble, and so are those who follow him. Jesus is the ONLY way, "No one goes to the father but by me."
Obama has overstepped his bounds, making him antichrist. He will bring total destruction on the world. Get ready folks, the man of sin is just getting warmed up. Billions will follow him blindly, to Hell.

We need to get involved in a third party NOW, you know that. We need to get somebody viable in the race for next time, who isn't just the lesser of two evils.
"He won't".... he repeated that as if he knew for a fact that there is no chance in hell Al Maliki would say that. Sounds to me as if a deal was made. Some sort of promise to the Bush administration or something. Hmmm..
I was about as surprised as you that Wolf Blitzer actually did something useful. You've got to be pretty bad if you get your ass handed to you by Blitzer.
McCain: If you believe that McCain is going to pull the troops out of Iraq in ANYONES timetable then you need to be schooled. This is from the man that said "50-100 more years in Iraq." I am sorry, McCain but we don't want to wait 50-100 years for "conditions on the ground" to be right!!!!

Cenk, you forgot to mention that McCain said that it was a good plan "based on conditions on the ground" but then in the next sentence seemed to be implying that it wasn't "bsed on conditions on the ground." Ha ha. I almost cringe thinking about how painful it is going to be watching McCain get destroyed in the debates.
I don't know how McCain can complain that he doesn't get enough time in the media. If he got as much as Obama does he would end up killing himself politically with this kind of interviews. I think he is lucky that he does not get scrutinized as much as Obama does.
The media gives John McCain a free pass to be stupid and senile! The never jump when he makes obvious gaffes that prove HE IS TOO OLD FOR OFFICE!
If being a POW (being dumb enough to get caught by enemy soldiers) is such a big deal, let's make sure he gets A MEDAL to go with that Navy hat he is always wearing.
We don't have to make him president just because he was a POW 100 years ago! This qualifies him for NOTHING.
It is obvious McCain knows nothing about anything but WAR!
McCain has THE MOST ungenuine smile I have ever seen. Each time the portion of the interview comes up where he thinks he should seem friendly and approachable, his face contorts into a mask. You're a republican politician, at least practice in front of the mirror.
I've been saying that same thing. It's like McCain has been bodysnatched by an alien and doesn't understand how to properly express emotions through body language.
It creeps me the fuck out!! It gives me chills because it's unhuman. Shit, at least Dick Cheney can pull off an evil smirk.
Makes me wonder if McCain isn't actually THE Manchurian Candidate. Seriously, that's the smile of someone who has been brainwashed to smile.
Now that you mention it, he also reminds me of that alien from Men in Black I (or was it II?). The one wearing an "Edgar suit" who liked sugar water...
lol yeah, he does kinda behave like that character. I think I'm gonna use that analogy instead of bodysnatched.
But seriously, how is this guy a legitimate candidate? Anyone remember the stink about his medical records? How the press had like 30 minutes to go over 2000 pages the friday before Memorial Day.
C'mon, if he's too scared to prove to us that he's not gonna fall over and die 200 days into his Presidency then how can he be a serious candidate?
George HW Bush did that smarmy fake-smile thing too. It's what you get, I think, when moderates spend too much of their time kissing up to the rightwing.
sadly ngarey mate the us would never allow some bugger like old paxman on there shows as he goes for the throat and hangs on until he gets an awnser..(remembers the day he took on the prince of darkness mike howard and asked him the same question 15 times before howard replied)
The war was supposed to be a strong point for McCain but he stepped on his own foot. All that's left is the oil scene now and he does have the better standing on that issue because Obama stepped on his own foot on that one.
You are wrong about one thing cenk. Most normal viewers don't catch little rediculousies likes these. (Like my made up word?)

man he gets destroyed by every interview.

How frustrated does John McCain get after these interviews?

Blitzer must have felt so sorry for him that he didn't prod any further. Haha, Mccain's a loser.

I don't know how McCain can complain that he doesn't get enough time in the media. If he got as much as Obama does he would end up killing himself politically with this kind of interviews. I think he is lucky that he does not get scrutinized as much as Obama does.

LMAO...I was actually thinking does he really know what he is asking for. McCain should be careful he might just get his wish

"Horizon" -- that point in the distance which, no matter how long or how far you travel, you can never reach ...
"Time Horizon" -- a point in time which is similarly unreachable

The one wearing an "Edgar suit" who liked sugar water...
annya127 3 years ago 2
lol yeah, he does kinda behave like that character. I think I'm gonna use that analogy instead of bodysnatched.
But seriously, how is this guy a legitimate candidate? Anyone remember the stink about his medical records? How the press had like 30 minutes to go over 2000 pages the friday before Memorial Day.
C'mon, if he's too scared to prove to us that he's not gonna fall over and die 200 days into his Presidency then how can he be a serious candidate?

im interested to know his VP...what scam the neo-cons got cooking lately.

A creature like that cannot stand to look in a mirror. It's painful.

If Mcsame keeps going like this, he's going to crash his rolfcopter of a campaign.

George HW Bush did that smarmy fake-smile thing too. It's what you get, I think, when moderates spend too much of their time kissing up to the rightwing.

bah, Blitzer was still holding back, we need someone like Paxman from the BBC to really grill these swine and get the truth out.
ngarey 3 years ago
sadly ngarey mate the us would never allow some bugger like old paxman on there shows as he goes for the throat and hangs on until he gets an awnser..(remembers the day he took on the prince of darkness mike howard and asked him the same question 15 times before howard replied)

The war was supposed to be a strong point for McCain but he stepped on his own foot. All that's left is the oil scene now and he does have the better standing on that issue because Obama stepped on his own foot on that one.

Mccain has no brain. he lost it on Bush's lap...
