  • Mate take it for a blat.

  • Time to say goodbye Andrea Boccelli the woman??? Like the song This bike is beautiful (im in love with it)....Just Get that sticker off the ductail??

  • One amazing bike, name of song?

  • I used to own one of them in the mid 70s. Sold it for a few hundred quid. I could weep when I think how much it might be worth now. A stunning bike and a rare and beautiful example in this video. I could lick it all over!

  • @THISHETH yes me too

  • Wow, down to to ditch finder tires...superb!

  • I wouldn't dare even ride that kind of beauty! Looks amazing at every angle

  • great looking bike .The music is a nice departure from the usual head banging shit which accompanies these type of videos.

  • so take it for a cane and lose the chicken strips already....

  • Is it for sale?

  • @drew2600 $50,000 ono

  • Do you still own the Z1 900 ? I would like to talk to you about it. Thanks Wayne

  • Immediately after this bike rolled off the production line, it was cryogenically frozen on a mountaintop facility in Norway for 30 years. When it was finally thawed out, it was maintained and ridden by a magical 7-foot tall elf who is light as a feather, and rides the bike amongst unicorns in wheat fields.

  • Love the bike, and love the music. I imagine riding that bike is a real experience.

  • @mjollnir613 Hate the music

  • I have a 1975 back in 70s real bikers would steal these strip the lights and race them at Louisville downs for cash prises so they Invest in the drug market most guys I know had theres stolen 4 guys pulled up in a truck jumped out picked up my dads and was gone in seconds so sad my dad.

  • Is that a broken cooling fin at 1min56sec? What a superb bike and music to match! Just bought a Z900A4, would love another Z1,

    Dare you ride it though?

    Regards from Derby UK

This is the least boring video I have ever seen!!!

  • This is the most boring video I can remember.

  • Probably no, SURE!!! Your bike will be mine standard to restore my KZ 1000....Envy from Spain, regards!

  • this video would be awsome if it was will ferrals version of the song...BOATS AND HOES

  • too nice, makes it generic. just like an old ford.

  • Very Nice bike, why that song? Plus are all of those Yours? If so WOW!

  • Nice job - looks like it was never used.

  • Einfach schön...

  • I had one exactly like this one back in 1973 in Caracas Venezuela it was one of 6 units that came to the kawasaki dealer imported directly from JAPAN. I traded in my brand new Kawasaki 750 H2 (disc brakes) 3 cylinder two stroke which was considered the fastest bike in the world at that time. I wished I kept those bikes.

  • Absolute perfection never had 1 myself i had a Z650F1 got it new in 1980 wish i still had it now, i did find a Z1 recently here in the UK for sale it was almost as good as yours but it had been fully restored i would have bought it but it was way too much money they wanted £25,000 for it, i would shudder to think what yours is worth cherish it look after it its worth a fortune mate.

  • My old man had one like this and I started riding it at the age of 15. Nobody in our area could touch it on the street.

  • I saw the prototype Z1 being tested in Arizona before production. It looked just like yours except the fenders were brushed aluminimum instead of being chromed. We asked the Kawasaki tech crew what it was and they said a 900 four stroke. I went to the Kawasaki dealer in Tucson and told them when I saw and they thought I was high on drugs. The story goes it was disguised as a Honda CB750, but it was not. It had KAWASAKI on the tank. A cool memory!

  • california beefsteak

  • This bike is insanely clean. I have my original Z2 750, fantastic condition but nowhere close to this !

  • my love.best of the best. andreas from greece. 52 year.old.

  • japan makes the best bikes hands down

  • some day that little guy will be riding that bike

  • tat bike is like showroom new. back in the 80s i had a suzuki gs1000g and my pal had a kz 900 just like that very nice

  • soooo pretty.....

  • I have 2 original early 70s 900 z1 posters , and the big mistake that people make , is that this bike gets called a z1900 not a900z1 , i am a very big fan of the z1 and this one looks to be one of the best example that i have seen .

But don`t just look at it ride it as well !

  • TRY to tell me the z1 isnt the best looking bike ever made! fantastic vid, just turn the volume down.

  • I bought one of these brand new in 1973. remember it like it was yesterday. Wish I would have kept it. paid $1995.00 for it. that was list price and they wouldn't take a dime off, and I didn't care. Rode it for 6 years and sold it for more than I gave for it. Would give triple to get it back.

  • I am in love again! I would glad get rid of my Sportster Custom for this bike. As much as I love the classic Sporty, this bike kicked Harley's butt back in the day. I was riding a Honda CB 500T when this bike hit the road. It smoked everything on two wheels. One day I will own one, oh yes, one day, it will be mine. Thank you for preserving this work of art!

    Doug

  • I dont really understand how in the hell that you kept this bike in this shape all this time with all the elements against you..I have an 86 and im having a really hard time preserving it..To the 8 dumb ass's that put their thumbs down to this,, I guess that their has to be some retarded people in the world,, because this is the most beautiful example of the very first musclebike that ive ever seen in my life..There isnt any better than this one period!!!!!

  • Damn i just nutted myself watching this!

  • I just bought that exact same bike for 200 dollars american.....Not kept up as well but im restoring it. These bikes are the SHIT, bluebook for this bike in fair condition is 3,000.......

  • Very impressive

  • Chop it up and make a bobber! (I'm kidding...)

  • It's a K1 z900 A4 i have the original in my garage..........i can't even ride it yet

  • Doesn't really matter, well not to me anyway doesn't make it any less beautiful.I had 2 of them awhile back and i thought they were the best thing ever.Mine had a 4into 1 bassani that sound like music.Held it's own for quite some time.Truly was miles ahead of the rest, really was the first super bike.

  • Unresotred? Must have been vacuum packed the day it was bought.Very nice indeed.

  • @haastheresa My thoughts exactly, much as i admire it i can't see how it could remain this good for all those years.......even 30 years ago i doubt there was the perfect artificial environment for it to remain this good.....hope the owner clarify's.

  • WOW!! I say the world, man!!!! I cannot believe the shape this thing is in!! I mean really......has it been in your family, or did you buy it this way?

  • wow , but how is this possible ? was it kept in a vaccum , dusk free moisture free climate controlled environment ?

  • wow

  • Stunning motorcycle, from the reverse-flared exhaust tips, to the fork-integrated reflectors. Motorcycle manufacturers need to bring these styles back, yet with modern technology (ABS, fuel injection, etc) - would be a smash hit, like Ford, Chevy and Chrysler have done with the 60's and 70's muscle cars. Not sure what they are waiting for ...?

  • Beautiful!!! If you can restore it this well you are an artist!!!

  • jejeje

  • Fantastic wish it were mine.

  • Awesome! I wish I kept mine.....

  • you should sell that machine back to Kawasaki for their museum

  • im sorry, i couldn't let it just sit. Whats the point of owning a bike like that and never driving it? But still though, i'd probably never leave 2nd:D Those do like 160 don't they?

  • the z1000 was born from this bike :o

  • Nice - the best bike I never had!

  • Never even starts it...work of art.

  • If that was my bike, my wife would have to make room for it in the middle of the bed!

  • @123Scears123 lol

  • What a fantastic Z1 !!!

  • one word..beautiful

  • Just perfect, brillant. Thanks for posting

    Brings me back in time.

  • Absolutely lovely. Just as this bike is classy and beautiful, memorable, capable yet uncomplicated, and having something somehow lost in current machines.... so too it represents the experience of life in the simple times in which it was born, against what is lost in living now.

    Oh take me back....

  • I ride an 80" KZ1000. It is always so amazing that an old, stock KZ can be so capable and beautiful. It's also funny that people buying new bikes can't wait to modify them.

  • Beautiful Z. I envy the owner...

  • Can i have it?

  • In a word... Wow

  • well, well well, one word !! stunning. even if your on the bone of your arse, dont ever sell it, you would never replace it, and with the music ! very soul searching, well done. regards to you all

  • Just a Classic Stunning Bike .

  • I bought a used z1 in 1998 that had a fuel problem, drove it around a few months. Then I got a letter in the mail from a guy in TX wanting my bike, how he knew I had one I'll never know, but I received a check in the mail for the bike he bought it sight unseen for 1500.00. ended up picking it up months later.

  • Kawasaki Z1 is the most widely sought after and restored Jap bike of all time. To see them in this condition certainly not uncommon, you just dont see them on the street much.

  • Nope.

    The 69 HONDA CB750 is.

That bike changed the motorcycling world and turned it upside down! It was the fastest bike at the time, the most reliable, and inexpensive AND most of all innovative!!

  • Hahahaha, I have to say this bike bested the old bucket of bolts 750. My dad bought one brand new when they came out. Yeah, the crank vibrated all the bolts loose. Nothing beats a Z for the looks or the speed. These bikes ate the hondas alive. Not meaning to brag or anything but been there as a kid on the back of my dad's bikes when they were new and the 750 was fun but not even close to scary fast. Now the Z1 was a beast. And that my friend you can take to the bank. Both are nice but...

  • Must have been something wrong with your Dads Honda 750 never heard of that before.

and OF COURSE a 900 is faster than a 750 it has 150 MORE CC's you need to compare apples to apples dude!

My point is the HONDA CB750 changed the motorcycling world more than ANY other bike, ask any motorcycle historian he'll tell you the same thing.

  • The 1969 CB 750 that is.

  • BTW...the Z1 was made BECAUSE of the CB750.

  • Yeah, but it far bested Honda. You know what...absence makes the fart go Honda.

  • Wow... I would pay a LOT to get one of those in such an amazing condition! Just change a couple of small details and the exhaust and you could have a Z1 that looks just like Eikichi Onizuka's Z1!

  • Looks great, bet that took a lot of time to make it look so clean. I own one exactly like it.

  • I've never seen a bike this old in such nice shape. I'd love to own one like it

  • I remember you either sold this or bought it on EBAY for somewhere around 38k right?

  • Bike great music great, somehow I wished you could have worked in the sweet sound of the 4 cyl DOHC motor .

  • That, sir, is absolutely beautiful and a credit to you. I expected it to show zero mileage but no, you obviously use it (and polish it).

  • I love this bike, I have an 83 kz750F and it hauls ass for an old bike, cant imagine the 900.

  • I was 13 years old when I first saw this work of art in our local Kawasaki dealer (Akeroyd Motors) in Rotorua, New Zealand 1973.I dreamt won day that I would own one, the looks, the sound are as magnificent as the music...perfecione !!!

  • nice collection you got their ;D

  • I have the sweetest '76 KZ900 in exsistence on my website greggvalekdotcom --and I play the same music to my photos.....are you mad at me?

  • THE most beautiful motorcycle ever designed & produced......AND a most beautiful and fitting piece of music to go with it. Unconditional love for true classics. I well up every single time I watch this wonderful senario!

  • The best Bike O.o

    It's god on 2 wheels :D

  • Sex on 2 wheels! Absolutely the best I've ever seen!!!

  • Where did you get this bike in this condish man??

  • wankers, who cares if some details aren't original. LOOK at the bike. it's gorgeous!!! one of the best z900's I've ever seen.

The music sucks big time that's true

  • I gave you a (+) on your comment but think the music fits fine with this iconic lush bike! (personal op' of course)

  • not original, look at the grabrail. Originally the indicatord come through some holes on the grabrail.

Also, im not sure if the seat is original unless its a yank, the uk bikes have a nicer seat with a strap.

  • My '74 Z1A has precisely this seat, yes a Yank bike indeed.

  • By 1974, the US govt embargoed this bike, no more to enter the US than had already been billed out to the dealers. The H2 had already been outlawed just prior. So dealers unable to obtain any more, loaded them up. Mine came with Borani alloy spokes, lockart oil cooler, Boge adjustable rear shocks, Russ Collins 4 into 1 exhaust. I replaced the handlebars with H2 handlebars and chopped the mirror stalks to cut vibration...and dialed in the cams. Still running, but being restored.

  • ...and I forgot i put on new sprockets, a series 630 conveyor chain with nylon rear sprocket, so smooth...and a halogen front lamp...i'm sure i'll think of more...oh...black emron paint three feet deep...that's about it.

  • I had a 1975 Z1B ... these were the original crotch rockets, fastest bike oin Earth at that time ... until the 2 stroke triple's... nice bike man!!

  • Lovely Z1, I see it's not real early (the stiffened carb bodies). You aren't old enough but this bike was just a freakin monster when it showed up on the street back in '73. It made EVERYTHING into slugs.

I would laugh out loud following my friend's Z through corners, it wiggled around so much. I was riding my Ducati 750 which didn't wiggle at all, of course. Would have been wonderful if there were no straights but.... gawd they went. A Z1 would pass anything and do it two up! (mine's a Dec 72)

  • don't listen to the idgits,,great song by great singers,, and a fantastic bike,,i had a 1975 until i blew the front tire on the highway. mine was slightly warmed up a bit , and had a bigger cam,,bigger rear tire and suicide drag bars, 4 into 1 with supertrap,,talk about a fun bike.

  • beautiful bike ..fair play to you...

  • Looks better than mine.

  • Even the tyres look original to me - King of the Road!

  • It doesnt look right, is it really all Z1A? .Shit music.

  • What is this song, for the life of me i can't remember, it's used everywhere and i think it's beautiful,

  • Time to say goodbye, sung by Andrea Bocelli, and Sarah Briteman.

  • nice bike but the music ruins the buzz for me

  • 4,922 Miles On The Clock...not bad. How about a '74 with 1,800 Miles? You still have a nice bike, don't get me wrong.

  • I'd say easily the nicest in the USA...and yes...I doubt there is any better anywhere in the world...besides perhaps a unridden collection bike. BTW...I liked the music.

  • Neat old classic, but... Puccini???

  • has the engine been resprayed in metalic black ,i must admit it is a lovely bike its nice to see this true classic

  • The early Z1's were in matt black. Later Z1B, and Z900A4 were in bare alloy

  • Absolutely GORGEOUS!!!

I have a '73 Z1 also, but I put the Kz1000 mag rims on mine, with the dual rotor brakes.

Actually, the engine is '73 Z1, on a '76 frame somehow.....

  • amazing she looks new. maybe better then new. keep it forever.

  • That is the nicest kz900 I have ever seen,but I'll take the orange H2,only if its A H2 not an H1.

    But nice kz900

  • Still a living legend .

  • Your right! She is really beautyful! congratulation to so a great motorbike.

Do you drive this bike fron time to time?

    be proud of it.

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • I am proud to have lived in this era, of these fuckin awesome motorcycles, which are a legacy of my youth, when i die i gonna get a z900 hearse to transport me to a parallel universe of kwakas.........

  • Man Im 16 Years old and i have a '75 900 Kaw. I thought mine looked good??? That bike is absolutely beautiful.. Hows it run?

  • Proper motorcycle heaven!

  • I'm in love.

  • my dream bike........

  • i have the exact same bike sitting in my garage, bought it 5 years ago from a guy in new zealand. it is a great bike

  • This is simply a beautiful motorcycle - one of the best Z1's I have ever seen.

  • Andrea Bocelli & Sara Brightman duet

    Time to say goodbye

  • A low production number model sold on ebbayy last week for $13,450. It was a very nice restoration. Item number: 160313044211.

  • This bike was listed on ebbayy a couple of years ago - I saved a number of the pics (the pics are dated March 2007). My notations show $23,400, but I'm not sure if that was the asking price, selling price or final bid amount.

  • my dad had that same bike just like that same condition in 1979 hahaha He hit a deer with it and did a handstand never lost control but the deer knocked fins off engine and bent the bike up bad we still have half the engine 4 parts as needed

  • :'( i wish my dads bike still looked like that

my dad has a z1 900 1973 that was chopped up and modified for drag racing

extended rake, 4 into1 headers, and lodes of engine part swapping and modifying

poor thing has been sitting in the garage for 14 years

i think its time for her to get a new paint job and get back on the road

your lucky you go one so well preserved i envy you :/

  • Great looking bike!

    .

Nooo, who put the big white fairing and luggage on that other one? Shoot them! ;-)

    .

    .

    .

    .

Sorry, but I can't stand the music. So only 3 stars.

  • Same bike! The bike is 35 years old, if the original owner had not put the ugly "big white fairing" etc on this beauty would have never been perserved as it is now........ Shoot them! I thank them.....

  • beautiful..

  • my dream bike....

  • If there is or has ever been a better looking motor cycle than the Z1 I cant think of one !! maybe only the the later H1F

  • laverda Jota looks as good. i owned both the Jota and the Z1

  • Yeh Jota was nice but could never get enthusiastic about the orange colour, Jota sounded nice though. Did you know Jota is a dance in triple time always thought that a good name for the bike it being 3 cyl . you got any bikes now ? I being doing up Suzuki gt750 since 92 my money pit i call it !!

  • No...No bikes now. I wish I had the Jota still though. I would like to get another, but I probably won't. Sad but true

  • mine looks a bit different, many states, 58,000 miles... pipes rusted off in 1976..

  • Perfect! I've got a 1975 Z1B 900 but no where near as clean. Paint faded from blue to black. It's under 20,000 miles though. Still extremely tight and fassst.

  • I bought one while working at a Honda dealership in South Dakota. The shoop owner made me park it accross the street! Rode it six years and 65K miles trouble free. Well except for a pile of tires, chains, sprockets, and rusty exhaust pipes. Replaced it with a KZ1000 shaft drive in 79. The 900 was crazy fast, and much more motorcycle than the H1500 tripple two stroke I had before it.

  • yeh nice, really liked that

  • be proud of the 73 !!! super super nice :)

  • A rare Gem indeed! Hard to believe that bike is 35 years old. I suspect you must be a secret time traveler capable of transporting objects to the future! :0) Quite a beauty. Thanks for sharing.

  • These bikes are sweet, and what a sound they have. Did these bikes also come in a semi chopped model?

  • This version of the song by ex hot gossip singer sarah brightman is probably best for purist . I also love catherine jenkins singing it .

A super Z1 and thanks for sharing it with us .

Hope you get to ride it a bit as so much beauty lies with riding them as well .

There are hundreds of these nowadays that are just ornaments because of their value , and have been restored and put away for ever

  • Great Z1 and classic soundtrack !! thanks for sharing it with us .

Do you ride it ocassionally ?? because more beauty lies there as well!!!with these lovely machines nowadays more are now owned by non riding collectors. which is their choice !! But 100's of these z1's are now priceless ornaments now after having expensive restorations done and never being seen again.

Probably sarah Brightmans version of this song is the best for purist . But i also like the catherine jenkins version

  • thats one beauty but so is the music who are the two singers? and the name of the song

  • andre bochelli and sara brightman singing "Goodbye"

  • Horsepower Profiles. Com

    Brag A Little

  • My all time favourite bike! I can't believe it's only done less than 5000 miles in 35 years!

  • No metal plug caps ?

  • UK had metal caps, USA were plastic.

  • Awesome example of the Z1. I bought a 76 model in a nice copper bronz color back in NZ the same year...what an experience...But I did love the 72 Z1 more, black motor and all. Best example I've seen. You can tell a real artist has restored this.. its a wonder this clip hasn't already inspired Kawasaki to put the bike back into production. A fitting piece of music too. Very beautiful indeed. Closeups were great, only thing missing is some footage of the bike cruising thru some nice country road.

  • This bike is not restored, it is in original condition as it came from the kawasaki Factory in early 1973!

  • Yes, I will agree that this one is most likely the finest in existence. It sold on 'fee-Bay' recently for well over 20,000.00! I'm also certain that the buyer was happy to have acquired it for what they paid for this motorcycle. A small price to pay for the preservation of the fantastic memories this particular model has provided for us all!

  • uh I think I nutted..?

  • It is incredible!! After so many years from the birth of this bike, it is still one of the most beautiful and fast bikes out there! A pure clasic!

  • Kawasaki and Sarah Brightman. Mmmmmmm...gives me that warm fuzzy feeling.

  • I had a '74 Z1 I bought new. FANTASTIC BIKR!!!! I wish I still had it. (Sold it because I had many surgeries on my left ankle, and at the time I couldn't shift. It took a few years, but now I can, but I want that bike back.

    beautiful bike!!

  • isnt man wonderful that he can create a thing of such beauty.

  • Outstanding ! Gotta preserve the history.

  • Toured the western US in 1975 on a blue one. I Like Mozart's K40, Bach, bla, bla, bla, your soundtrack is good and different. Most of us who rode them love the Z-1 music. The music of Ferrari, of Dual Overhead Cams, 12 Second Quarter Miles, Races won at 130 mph.

  • the BEST POST ON THIS SITE!!almost made me cry!!

  • Thats better than porn!.

  • I would rather ride my bike then just store it ,but I guess if your that rich you can buy toys to save, has to be the most gay song in existance

  • I'd give a lung, a kidney, my balls and one eye.

  • ...............and my wife,,,,,,,,,,

  • Can i swap my wife for it? Superb!

  • My new 900LT does not look as new. Great bike, good clip. Thanks for sharing.

  • You would swear these pics were taken back in 1973, just fantastic truly the king of the road.

  • What a lovely beast!

  • beautiful bike
