  • I was having a nightmare trip before I watched this trip. Were.

  • WHEN WILL IT END!?? IM SCARRED!!!

  • even the URL goes G_G

  • math is boring? tell me again after this vid.

  • 0:20 Right back where we started...

  • o_O

  • Gods Pineal Gland....

  • Comment removed

  • すごい。

  • That'de been cool if it ended where it started.

  • i think it's safe to say that the length of the boundary is infinite

  • How is this fractal drawn? is there an equation for it?

  • @starofcctv94 it is all the numbers C such that the equation Zn+1 = Zn^2 + C iterated infinitely, remains bounded.

  • noobazoid typ question:... r tha colours produced from tha equation also? if so perhaps there is a more signifigant yet simplistic application?

  • The "Thumbprint of God", it has been called. A great secret of the universe is revealed in these images - in many fractal images. From the simplest mathematical formulae, these images flow. They explain the repeating patterns of the universe, from conch shells to galaxies.

  • "PERFECT"

  • Are we focusing on the limit set toward the end?

  • Man, that's boring.

  • is this what u get when on DMT?

  • Step 1: Do mushrooms

    Step 2: Watch this

  • @Mat397 Roger that. Will do next weekend....

  • hey I want a screen saver like this!!? where do I get one?????

  • @TheLostODST I'd also like one!

  • This was a normal fractal, then it took an arrow to the knee.

  • what exactly is a fractal?

  • @Nulmatik A mathematical based on a formula and the golden ratio.

  • @Nulmatik Jaxkr1 is talking rubbish. A fractal is a geometric shape in which parts of it resemble the whole. ie. there is a part of it you can "zoom in on" and you'll see the original shape, so when you zoom in on that, you'll see the original shape again and so on. This property is called self similarity. It's true that fractals are drawn FROM formulae, but they are NOT formulae. It's like saying y=x is a straight line - it isn't, it can just be represented as such as a graph.

  • i keep seeing these whenever i do acid

  • WHAT THE FUCK??!!!!!

  • I just fucking vomited.

    Thanks Alexis.

  • An equation nearly like the mandelbrots, may be a little bit more complex.

    Thanks for that !

  • this is it.. in the beginning i was..

  • duuuuuuude

    i'm tripping balls

    O_O

  • Fibonacci all up in here

  • @Amperhammer It's Mandelbrot set, a notorious fractal set. Fibonacci is not even close related to this. This set contains the complex numbers whos make a specific succession (I'm not going to define it here, go check wikipedia) be limited. Moreover, the complex numbers contained are the black parts in the video and the coloured ones are outside the set.

  • @AlgebricDiddle lol, whoops. I had two videos open in different tabs. My comment on this was meant to be a comment on a video called "nature by numbers" :p

  • We’re making a game about it! Check it out mnmgame[dot]com

  • Fractalception!

  • This is really cool to watch on acid

  • A beauty.

    Outstanding video production.

    Thanks for to share it.

  • I LOVE FRACTACLS, WE ARE FRACTALS!

  • Awesome!

  • If your stoned, you will go to another world

  • @SuperOORAH fuck yeah dude im in malakistan

  • @SuperOORAH Yeah man, my roommate played this for me the first time i did shrooms. I cant explain where my mind went.

  • @SuperOORAH I am high on life, I don't need to get stoned to enjoy something =)

  • whoever created this has probably never even left their own bedroom.

  • Infinity is what it is. Sometimes.

  • Can anyone recommend a safe website to download a mandelbrot program?????

  • watched this for gaming and media...pre cal teacher told me this

  • 0:28

" You are on the end of galaxy driving near a rip of space"

  • M-U-S-H-R-O-O-M-S!!!!!!!!

  • Awwww the owner changed the sound to this crap instead of Theme by Jon Brion! Such a disappointment.

  • +=+=+=+=+=((@))=+=***+_+((@))=+=+=+=+EYE + C = U

  • Hey yo dawg i heard u liked fractals...

  • @bmccork so I put a fractal into your fractal so you can fractal while you fractal ;P

  • @bmccork ...so i put a fractal in a fractal in a fractal in a fractal in a fractal in a fractal in a fractal in a fractal in a fractal in a fractal in a fractal in a fractal in a fractal in a fractal in a fractal in a fractal in a fractal in a fractal in a fractal in a fractal in a fractal in a fractal ...

  • zooming out would look even cooler

  • Did we just zoom into the anus of a mandelbrot?

That's all relative of course because isn't this just a 2-Dimensional image of a 4-Dimensional mathematical set of points? Although even that's possibly debatable.

I'm glad there isn't a mandelbrot set lingering about in some hole somewhere in our world. (Relative again as the image of a mandelbrot is just a fraction of an infinitely larger image).

I'm sure if I fell in I would die of starvation.

  • @Waxer3929 You would die of thirst before you would die of starvation.

  • @onezeroraid I'm pretty sure by that point we would all die of boredom.

  • 62 people failed math

  • It likes it when I go deeper ;)

  • We must go deeper!

  • すご~い

  • I never thought math was cool before my Math Analysis teacher showed me this. I have been enlightened.

  • Mathception? Fractalception? Mandelbrotception?

  • 62 people are mathematicians

  • Very nice colors. I assume this was rendered offline and not in realtime right? If you want to see a different type of fractal check out my channel - I'll keep updating it. It's got cool fractal morphs :)

  • Guys! If you want to know more about fractals, watch this excellent video. It's about the length of a single class, and totally worth it in my opinion.

    pbs.org/wgbh/nova/physics/hunting-hidden-dimension.html

If you don't have the patience to watch it, then well, knowledge lost I guess.

  • Is there ever an end? Where do these things come from? How does it keep going on?

  • @AGrayPhantom its a mathematical formula. It never ends. Every frame it generates a new image using the formula. It does this over and over again

  • @Pindamann Is it a specific mathematical formula, or any mathematical formula?

  • @Pindamann Its called reiteration. It ends up being infinity in away.

  • Watching this video brings so many things to mind.Trees, Ocean floors,Electricity, the universe.

  • la ciencia de la vida

  • Wow! Mathematics is truly an art form when you see these kinds of images.

  • DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!!!!!!!!!! I WAS GONNA HAVE SOME KINDA SEIZURE OR SOMETHING!!!!!!!! XD

  • Cauliflower is my favorite edible fractal.

  • Mandelbrot ? .. ich steh mehr auf Walnussbrot. ^__^

  • This is very relaxing, is that supposed to happen?

  • Mandelbrot Set, you're a Rorschach Test on fire

    You're a day-glo pterodactyl

You're a heart-shaped box of springs and wire

    You're one badass f*cking fractal!

  • MANDELBROOT ATTACK!!

  • Très bon choix de palette de couleurs et bonne musique.

  • We're all just pieces of a fractal in this vast and possibly infinite universe.

Think about it, all planets are circular, and all solar systems orbit a star, and all stars spiral in a galaxy, and all galaxies clump together to form superclusters, and so on and so forth...

  • - Is it possible for somebody (who has a lot of time on their hands) to zoom in endlessly on this? As in ENDLESSLY-endlessly?

  • i was zooming into fractal for 25 years right know and i think i reach the end, i found a milkshake there so i guess it was worth it.

  • I want one of THOSE!

  • looks like we found the true god

  • @DjKenJamison Exactly. all you do is z^2+c. so 0^2+1 = 1 then reinput f(z) into z again: 1^2+1 = 2. now 2^2+1 = 5 So far we have 0 1 2 5. the next values are 26 and then rapidly increasing into the thousands millions and billions.

  • Great work! unique and creative! Very impressive!

  • 10n6 1iv3 514ckw4r3 1337!!1

  • I can see for miles and miles

I can see for miles and miles

I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles

  • I dont know where I am, --and I've just been there!

Awful hard to keep track of those kinds of details while travelling on the M-set.

  • I wish it never ended:(

  • I feel like I am peering into god's bunghole.

  • Agreed a very good documentary.

  • Nova had this great program on Fractals last night. An explanation is if you take a function z=x+y, create a set. Take the solution from that set and send it through the same function, do that millions of times and graph it, that what you get.

  • maybe it slams harder if you play it backwards.

  • the univers it's just a hologram !!! and the space and time: illuzion of perception

  • does anyone know of a good mathematical explanation for fractals? let me know!

  • @lemonsnlimes333 As for my understanding, which mind you is not fully to be trusted, fractals are just examples of an endless pattern repeating as one may (as shown in this video) ascend into it. The idea of fractals please me because everything seems to work as such. For example, consider the geometric movements of our universe. The smallest orbit we know of is a moon revolving around a planet, then a planet revolving around a star, then a star revolving around the center of a galaxy, and so on

  • @TheDobligator Even beyond that, think about electrons "orbiting" nuclei

  • @RubyRileyS Yeah I know haha. Glad to see you understand what I'm saying though. I bet if we kept observing and researching we'd find the universe to follow that pattern infinitely.

  • Choix de couleurs intéressant...

  • Try searching 'fractale opening hd' and you will get an animated/moving fractals which is awesome :)

  • this makes me feel like im tweeeking out...

  • So, here's a possibly stupid idea from someone with no real education on fractals so sorry if I'm being wrong, but if a fractal is an infinite zoom of infinite variations of geometric figures, then could complex, recognizable structures be formed as one of its infinite set of shapes?

  • trance : )

  • @romanianfirefox

    [1337mathpwnage]

    Let A={sarcasm}, B={Math}, and C={Understanding}. Let my comment, D be defined as D∈A U B and your comment, E, represents the null set of C such that for every E, E ∉ C .

  • All I'm thinking is, "WHEEEEEEEEEEEE---!"

  • I don't do drugs, I swear!

  • Stunning video

  • Guys, I got to the end of the fractal. The last guy is really hard. Save before.

  • @SirHakke same thats what is was going to say

  • Alternative soundtrack:

    /watch?v=9tq3eFTKJNo

  • -.- Duuuuuuuuuuude...

  • WoW!!

  • 0:26 Satan's asscrack

  • A thought just struck me, could our universe in theory be in fractal arrangement with black holes leading to sub-universes? And the big bang being our universe growing from a black hole in a parent-universe located in a fractal arm amongst infinity? Every universe would be self-similar with endless variables leading to endless outcomes.------

yes i thought this as well watching a program on bbc hd called the code i couldnt of put it better even if i tried

  • @Eyeswideshut83 I was thinking along those lines to.. another BBC4 program last night included this, called.. the secret life of chaos theory... very interesting :)

  • abit of my hardcore salvia trip was like a metalic mandelbrot set with a fusions of images of past memories wow i explained it!!! wooh its like a light switch just flicked on

  • @Tompaplus You got it. Consciousness do the same on my view... You are 1 consciousness with trillions of mini-consciousness (cells) on you... Earth is 1 consciousness with trillions of mini-consciousness (us and every life) on her... Expand it to the sun, Universe... Go bigger and bigger and bigger, and you got the "We are all One" thing about old knowledge

  • ..brain..overloading....argh!

  • so, is it infinite?

  • 1 = ∞

  • MIND=BLOWN

  • Excellent, so cool. Really enjoyed this video. :-P

  • DAMN MATH! YOU TRIPPY!!

  • @spankthemonkee112 So math is trippy to you. Everything is math, so by transitive property, everything is trippy to you. Lay off the drugs holmes.

  • @TheDobligator Not everything is math. Don't be like that ancient Greek guy who tried to prove everything was math. I think he went mad.

  • @daniel10alien Everything is math.

  • @daniel10alien Name one thing that can't be mathematically determined. Emotion? I can argue against that.

  • @TheDobligator

Love? How do you quantify that?

  • @daniel10alien Love is a part of human nature, which is possibly set out or "programmed" into the human brain. The way each human thinks or feels is based on his passed experiences by which the human nature set in him will reflect and change. Love is part of this system of "human nature," which can by mathematically explained. I am not trying to imply that this is the truth or even the Truth. I am simply stating an idea or an argument as a counterpoint to yours. Please do not think I am assuming

  • wow i would love to have this a s a screensaver.....that never ends

  • If we keep zooming for billions of years we will still not reach our poor liitle piece of sand called earth.Come on relegious people it is time to retire.

  • Nice. TY for sharing. FF

  • its fucking FRACTAL!

    the universe i mean.

    namaste.

  • It's a fractal!

  • @mandelbrot66 I do too. I don't like math but fractals are pretty interesting.

  • Zoom into the depths of buddha's fart from 0:20 :D Anyone else see this?

  • all they did was give pi (3.14159265358979323846265... i memorized that :D) a shape!!! and its cool!!!

  • @wonderwaffle808 thats not true at all, its got nothing to do with pi

  • Nice Fractal in my Channel

    Created with Mandelbulb3D

  • to bad its not in 1080p.

  • Truly awesome video (except for maybe the rather abrupt ending). Thanks for posting!!!

  • it was cool but made me sleepy

  • Fractal math is cool

  • Would it actually surprise anyone if the Universe were a Mandelbrot set?

  • @1CONK1

    absolutely yes and definitely not

  • @1CONK1 Not a bit, in fact i think it is something similar. An equation nearly like the mandelbrots, but perhaps a bit more complex.

  • @1CONK1 My thoughts exactly and not just our universe but multiple universes if they exist.

  • @1CONK1 Not really. Seems natural after exploring this video and a web app.

  • @1CONK1 Not in the slightest.

  • @1CONK1 I often wondered this! I mean, we know of atoms and quarks, but what's smaller? Does that mean we actually have to size? Or, huh. Oh forget it, my mind is full of fuck.

  • @1CONK1 I think it is, infinity.

  • @1CONK1 it is.

  • @1CONK1 It would surprise me... A lot! Mandelbrot set is missing the element of "Random".

  • @1CONK1 And that we were too!!!

  • Falling forever

  • wow i love this nature...fractal

  • As an experiment, I took LDS and watched this, And I must say, what an experience

  • @theGuyYouHate01 you took the church of Latter Day Saints? didn't that hurt?

  • @elivogel13

    no, it was just, unexplainable

  • holy fwk i love the person that made this :D

    sooo amazing

  • Watching this made me think of the infinity of creation........of all the universes and beyond! Wow!!

  • If this was on one sheet on a computer, it would have to be around...

    999,999,999 x 999,999,999 pixels. lol

  • @psycotoastFTW way more

  • @psycotoastFTW Much more than that. On a three minute or so fractal zoom, if the first screen were blown up to the scale of the final screen, then you'd need a monitor larger than the known universe. Makes ya think...

  • El fractal, por antonomasia, es infinito.

  • zazzle/guitars has guitar fractals!
