  • I'm close to ordering this guitar, It's says it comes with a gigbag, can I ask if yours did

? and if it was a good gigbag?

    Thanks Jon

  • @thepeacecat

The gigbag is good, but always ask if it comes with it. Some shops may not include it.

  • Hi. nice review. I'm about purchase my first godin, the exit 22 or sd 22 . can you give me some diferences between exit22 and sd22 before i buy one of this guitars thx

  • @MrDraykeL

There are two major differences. The body on the exit 22 is 2 piece mahogany, but the SD22 is a combination of maple and poplar with a flame maple top. This will be brighter than the mahogany. The exit 22 has a hardtail bridge, but the SD22 uses a tremolo. The necks will be basically the same. The pickups are the same. Thanks for watching.

  • I really wish Godin was more "lefty-friendly". As it happens the Exit 22 is the one Performance Series guitar that I just don't care for because, IMO, it's just really muddy on the bass end. For whatever reason the SD 22 - which also has a Mahogany body and Rock Maple neck - doesn't suffer from the same problem.

    What a pity.

  • Hello. What amp and what overdrive are you use in this video?

  • @komiks17

a 1981 Musicman 112 tube amp. Two channel amp. One set clean, and one set with some distrotion.

  • amazing guitar!

  • Thanks for the review. I will in buy one and replace my cheap old Ibanez. Amazing channel, by the way, Jon.

  • Where was this guitar made?

  • Absolutely great review! As I'm also a lefty, your videos are really helpful to me. Thank you!

  • OK, thank's mate. I've decided, it's a exit 22 then. I'm starting to fall in love with this godin guitars, they are truly amazing. Thanks for your advice, regards

  • Hi. This is a great review. I'm about purchase my first godin, and i'm not sure if i should get this, the exit 22, the sdxt or the sd. What guitar would you recomend me? I really like the look of the exit 22, besides, i've readed that the exit 22 sounds fuller and edgier, more stratty. Is that true?

  • @diegofr90

There are two major differences between the Exit 22 and the sdxt / sd. The Exit 22 uses a mahogany body whereas the other two use maple bodies with a maple veneer. The other difference is tremolo versus the Exit 22 with no tremolo. Mahogany is going to give you a deeper sound rather than the brighter maple body. So to summerize, do you want a tremolo, and do you want a brighter or mellower tone? Best of luck in your search.

    Jon

  • @diegofr90 Do it, go ahead and buy the Exit 22. I've got mine for 4 years now, and it's the best I've ever had. A great sounding beauty, I can strongly recommend this guitar, not only because it is extremely versatile...

  • Welcome .. if you wish i will tell you

  • Man your so lucky, I wish I had a better left handed guitar than a squier strat..

  • @Aeonec

An inexpensive idea is to take your Squier to a luthier and have him set it up for you. I don't mean change the strings; I mean dress the frets, set up the action , and then see what you think of your Squier.

  • @brianway1 Yah but i really want a better looking guitar before I start replacing parts.

  • What is that SG junior in the back? I've been looking for one for years!

    great review BTW.

    Regards.

  • @MrLosfuegos

That's a Michael Dolsey Designs SG jr deluxe. You can find them online. That is a nice guitar. Hope you get to play one.

  • @MrLosfuegos

You can watch it on Episode 39 of Guitars with Jon Way

  • I like John's style. Has he done session work?

  • @HatchetsNCleavers

Recording work back in the 80's.

  • I like John's style. Has he done sessionwork?

  • how come the video is left sided or are all those left-handed guitars?

  • @MarijuanaGood4U

They are all Left Handed. A Lefty's paradise. :)

  • @brianway1

Indeed it's nice to watch a gear review and know that it's available and not righty only for once. Thanks Jon and Brian.

  • @NewfStimpson

Thanks for watching, and we'll keep hunting down those elusive Lefty models.

  • Your voice is like ice cream to my ears.

  • very nice. your review always delivers! one question though... when you say "polymer nut," which many of your axes seem to have, are they more or less plastic, or something like GraphTech or TUSQ or things like those??

  • @bbbtggh

Thanks. Glad you like the vids. Good point on the polymer nut description. We normally point out Tusc, but everything else gets grouped as polymer. We will dig into how many grades are being used, and see if we can point out the quality level.

  • Is there a reason your not using the string trees on the D and G string?

  • @gsstrings

Good eye. Lol. Well, when we went to shoot the video the temp and humidity had changed, so we quickly adjusted the truss rod, but in our haste forgot to place those strings under the 2nd tree.

  • Very nice instrument. Always liked the Godins. Good value too for a N American made guitar.

I like some of the single coil models that have the revoicer circuit on them. HAVE you tried these Jon? They are hybrid passive/active pickups and have 2 totally different voicing's when used either way!

Cheers. This was a nice, basic HSS style guitar from Godin.

  • @ace69er

Haven't tried the hybrid ones. I'll be on the lookout. Thanks.

  • Love the demo and the production value of the video.

    Nice Licks dude!

  • @Gamerdude17

    Thanks and thanks for watching.
