I actually helped out in BBC Maestro playing in the Watford Youth Orchestra for the first series, which the celebs used to practice on (of which about two seconds was shown on TV when Alex James head butted).
Surprisingly he wasn't too bad in the rehearsal, but as you can see here in truth he is somewhat terrible.
That was the longest two and a half minutes of my life! I bet the brass hated him after that! It was quite sweet how every time he tried to look down at the music his tempo slowed down too =D
I love the shots of the orchestra actually laughing at him. poor guy... but I agree with down below - it's hard if you actually aren't musical at all.
I was thinking whilst watching the show, that it must be hard for the musicians also, ebcause they probably know this peice liek the back of their hands, and to play it OUT of time must be hard.
Eh. Pic. Epic. This is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long while - brilliant television. Sad thing is that he's probably the most intelligent one there. But sheesh, does he want to start *any slower*! Agh, it was brilliant, had me in stitches! The look on his mentor's face... priceless!
I've watched Maestro last night and I agreed with the judges and orchestra (who have to choose between him and Alex), Peter's effort was all over the place and a little too slow...
No one could keep their face straight! I felt a bit sorry for him at the end when he was voted out as he seemed to really enjoy it. Never mind! Anyone who tries that is to be commended for their efforts. It isn't easy.
