How is he able to play all that without moving his hands? I suspect he played the whole thing on the pedals, which is all the more impressive.

The three finalists were Karl Richter, Anton Heiller and Piet Kee, who went on to win. The fascinating thing is, though, that even through the mists of time, recording technology being what it was then, the listener can still clearly discern that the magnificent Muller of St Bavo had a very different voice to what it has now, after the 1960 rebuild by Marcussen. Some say it sounded better then. Me? I can't say.
