i wear a helmet and pads on my board most of my mates dont but i hope they put one on before they fall. its not cool to smash your head in and have brain damage
It takes confidence to wear safety gear. You'll probably skate better knowing you're in less of harms way as well. It holds the same primary purpose as a condom or a bulletproof vest, to protect. If anyone calls you a pussy for wearing skate gear, you already know that they are most likely too pussy themselves to wear it, to stand against dominant ideaology takes balls. Visual acceptance or life expectancy, make your choice. Live life for YOU! not for people you won't know in ten years time.
Chritian, I met you today at my house through AT&T. I am very impressed by your strength and will to overcome any obstacle! Keep up the grat work, Snowboard hard and finish Law school! Best of Luck ! Steve
You are very lucky, and very brave -- God Bless You! In August 2007 my father tripped in his dimly lit living room ... on a fallen pillow from his sofa. He fell face first into a table against the wall, so his face, head and C1/C2 absorbed all the force of impact. He suffered severe cranio-facial (Le Fort II) fractures, skull fracture -- atlanot-occipital disassociation.
that's good that this video is out, but how are we supposed to spread the word if the embedding is taken away? i own a skate shop and i want to put this on our site to spread the word but i can't.
Christian, thank you for putting out this video. I know this is a very unpopular stance with skaters, but they have no idea what happens to people who have head injuries. This is something that skaters need to see. Thanks for putting out this video.
In Short -- I am livin and lovin life for sure!!! Perfectly healthy and miraculously 'sharp as a tack' and as I insisted to a friend the other day - "I am specifically referring to the pin side of that tack!"
Have them watch this clip. The other thing that people don't realize is that if this happens to someone with crappy insurance we end up paying tax money for their desire to be "cool" and not wear a helmet.
It's common sense isn't it? just wear a helmet and you won't crack ya nut :)

Someone called me a fag cause I wear a helmet at my local skatepark. I feel pressure not to wear one because noone else does at the park!
hayd03100130 3 years ago
Just tell them "Sorry, I won't go out with you - I don't swing 'skate' that way!" and then totally show them up on your board!
It's totally worth the ridicule of a couple idiots to ride with a helmet - I can seriously promise you that!!!
