I have only just RE-discovered Jackie Earle Haley. I first saw him in Breaking Away and had not seen him since that time. I saw the movie Little Children last night and wondered if Ronnie was played by the same actor who played Moocher. It's been 30 years! Jackie is a fantastic actor and his performance in Little Children was absolutely compellling. I had NO idea that he also played the role of Freddie Kruger as I never watch horror films (not my cup of tea). Wow..fun discovery!

JEH is so fantastic in this film, he really made me feel sorry for him. Which is strange because he's a paedophile, but he really seems just mentally ill and lonely.

It's ironic that both he and Patrick Wilson portrayed sex offenders in this and Hard Candy, respectively, they beat up sex offenders in Watchmen, and JEH's a child molester in NoES.

Every time I watch this movie, his 'I'm not a nice person' line kills me. You can tell that Ronnie is, deep down, a nice person; as proof of this, his date - up until the end *facepalm* - goes really well! He just needs help.

i really like the part near the end of this clip, where his mom starts to write the letter, and she starts listing off the nice qualities he has, and he asks her "what else?" which pulls at my heartstrings, like he wants to know desperately that there IS something good about him...

I love how much JEH gets into character and becomes somebody completely different every time he's in a movie.
