  • I wish I could move to Scotland, it's such a beautiful place, I live in Canada, I think it's pretty nice there, not much abandonded stuff only out in the country is where you'll find old houses that are run down.

  • Urgh. This village is horribly creepy.

  • Silly question, but what was this place? Just a village or was it a community called a 'village'?

  • @jay270486 Not at all :), it's a village called Polphail that was built for a nearby construction yard that ended up never being built. The village then sat never being used or lived in.

  • @AbandonedScotland Oh wow. Thats awesome. I loved the music in this video as well. It was relaxing yet haunting. I love places like this. It's so fascinating.

  • I'm so jealous! I wanna come to Scottland! These videos are great. the artwork in all taht graffiti is amazing. Sorry about typos, I cut my finger so it's hard to tye, lol.

  • @PinkStupidity Haha no problem, you should definitely visit there's many amazing places across the country!

  • Thanks for making this video, I love this. I've been wanting to go up there for a few years now; it has combined my two interests of Urbex AND graf art :) Incidentally, did you see any bats while there? I've been told that permission to wander around is limited due to it now being a "bat colony"...

  • @IWillCureYouAll We didn't see any bats but we did make sure to not disturb them. The only animals we seen were sheep which walk around :)

  • excellent photography and music........

  • @jcw001 Thanks for saying so, the music is by The Eternal Twilight, make sure and check them out :)

  • No footsteps here..just empty...beautiful images really beautiful !

  • @Theghostswithin Thanks I'm glad you liked it :)

  • What caused it to abandoned?

  • @Scotspikeman It was never actually used, it was abandoned because it was going to be a home for the workers to a nearby oil construction yard but the yard was never built.

  • @AbandonedScotland Thanks - do you know of any other abandoned villages in Scotland?

  • @Scotspikeman I don't know of any other full villages that are still standing, I suppose the closest thing to it would be St. Kilda where the island was evacuated.

  • @Scotspikeman Benquhat and Corbie Craigs in Ayrshire are worth a visit. There aren't many buildings left, but there are a few ruins and industrial relics. Interestingly, Benquhat's war memorial is still there, as a lone reminder that there was once a village there. The nearby Dunaskin ironworks/brickworks complex at Waterside is still standing and is home to the Ayrshire Railway preservation group.

  • Cool! I have a playlist of abandon places this is going on the list.

  • @babecat2000 Cool, I'd like to see the list :)

  • I have just found your channel. This is great what you are doing! It's art to me.

  • @ChangeAba Thanks I appreciate you checking out my videos, there's still some really amazing places to come as well.

  • It seems the ghost village was also an inspirational lair for artists...

Some fresco are superb, like that Asian maiden.

Nice video. At least Polphail is now immortalized thanks to your work.

  • @nozoto Thanks for the comment, yeah they were done by an art group called "The Agents of Change" you should check them out they've got some great stuff elsewhere also.

  • Great stuff, are you using a dolly or a slider

  • @DavideoDesign Thanks, I'm using an indiSLIDERmini.

  • Thank you for sharing these videos they are amazing. They make you think about the lives of the people who inhabited these abandoned places. Brilliant! :)

  • @janez1952 Glad you are enjoying it Jane :)

  • As always you bring life to dead buildings and make them interesting, thanks for sharing those amazing buildings with us. Kira x

  • Another great video. I just love your shot composition and music.

  • Brilliantly Done! Love your Stuff! Makes Me Sad But!

  • @Wallabytrack Yeah abandoned places are sad to see but I really feel like they should be shared with the world before they are demolished and wiped from the world entirely which is sadly inevitable with many of them.

  • @AbandonedScotland I Agree Mate!

  • This is outrageous! Clever and so very well done. Thanks for sharing this.

  • @tatiebogle Thanks for saying so I appreciate it!

  • beautiful

  • @hilby Cheers :)

  • What a great video. Very atmospheric, the combination of images and music. Well done!

  • @grizzlyten Thanks glad you enjoyed the video :)

  • @dannyday58218195 Hey Danny, I've got an indieSLIDERmini which lets me slide the camera when on the tripod. Also bought a really good tripod (Velbon DV7000) for my latest videos. Yeah there are alot of urbex videos which are from a walking perspective I do enjoy them as well. Yeah i'd love to see the videos send me them in a message :)

  • is it your video? Shocking good

  • @trurlesklapanciusz Yeah this is my video, thanks for saying so :). The music is by The Eternal Twilight who let us use their music check them out as well.

  • great video thanks for sharing.it is deffo a shame when u see this happen to buildings, theres an old water tower in duntocher(clydebank) and its been left to rot away at least people made art of this building..really liked the pic of the japanese girl at 2.58 and the old washing machines :P

  • @foxyfran1987 Thanks glad you enjoyed it, I've never seen that tower Fran, where in duntocher is it? Yeah the art in the buildings are really good. If you like the art check out "Agents of Change" they are the artists that done most of the graffiti here.

  • Wasnt that originaly built by an Oil Corp, as they was going to drill just of short to it, but then canceled the deal for the rig, so the town was de-funct.?

Still a bloody shame and waste of perfectly good housing for folks.

Wonder at what point you'd need to pay council tax if you was to shack up there.?

  • @TheWombatppc Yeah that's exactly it, it's a shame they were never used it seems strange that nobody ever used them. Haha i'm really not sure if you'd need to pay council tax.

  • @AbandonedScotland No Council Tx Folk.. Loop Hole.. :-)

    Sold me on it..

  • @AbandonedScotland No Council Tx Folks.. Loop Hole.. :-)

Sold me on it.. Love the smoth horisontal pass over the rusty keys.. dead good

  • @TheWombatppc Haha :) ... thanks man appreciate it.

  • What a complete waste...It really turns my stomach when things are built and never used. Don't build things until you know for sure they will be used. But you do beautiful video work.

  • @nickdecarlo76 Yeah it really is a shame Nick, it's unfortunate that they are left to rot.

  • Nice music too?lol cheers mate!

  • @dsbm223 It certainly is man! Thanks for creating such a great piece.

  • @AbandonedScotland

Hahaha. My pleasure mate. Feel free to use any of our other songs in future videos if you like :) it certainly gets us some more exposure as well.

  • The absence of human being is so Poetic, I love it and congrats for the excellent work!

  • Really enjoyed video. Well shot and edited. Places like this are eerie and really interesting. Thanks for hooking up.

  • Excellent video. Thanks for sharing.

  • @unclealister Thanks

  • great choice of music for this vid

  • @666WormInfested666 Thanks man, check out The Eternal Twilight for some more amazing music.

  • what to say, lovely relaxing and perfect fitting music to a very interesting video over an empty building- you are doing very good videos ( excellent filming )... well done ,great piece of work.....lovely greetings

  • @weisseradler01 Thanks for saying so :)

  • I can't stop watching this. Somehow, your vids go beyond "watch" and the viewer actually FEELS the place - and you feel how this landscape that's been untouched for thousands of years just shrugs aside any human effort; for all our puff and bluster we're just a temporary blip. Just absolutely lovely.

  • @Horacechicken Thanks for saying so Polly, really do appreciate it and glad you like our video :)

  • @cathkinghost Haha hopefully not! Thanks for the compliment cathkinghost. :)

  • Excellent video work here.

  • @mastermind Thanks mastermind :)

  • Красиво снято. Заброшенные строения напоминают Припять после Чернобыльской катастрофы...

  • I love architecture, especially in isolation. Great video :D

  • @AlejandroInAustin Yeah it's just a shame that they can't save some of the wonderful abandoned buildings here.

  • Awesome.

  • @hotlavatube Thanks hotlavatube :)

  • very nice. I really like it. mine are very different and looks unprofessional. good job! I have to try that kind of way ...

  • @naramovige Just keep doing what you're doing nara, I just checked out a few of your videos and enjoyed them. :)

  • @ideagirlconsulting Yeah a movie here would be great!

  • Really nice... Outstanding clip.

I love the music combination... Atmosphere sounds like a lullaby.

Hypnotic places in a beautiful video.

  • @motig79 Thanks for saying so motig79 :)

  • This I like... you had a right grotty day for your explore!

  • @TeeJF Haha I know the rain was horizontal at times, its typical Scottish weather though!

  • I would love to live in Scotland, it's not swarming with people, it's so green and full of fascinating old buildings, a lot of abandoned ones. I imagine the whole world looking somewhat like this if the human race ever gets wiped out. Thanks for sharing this.

  • @1221solstice2012 Scotland is a beautiful country, our cities are quite densely populated but it's always a short drive out to the wilderness.

  • Absolutely stunning. And there's been a very clever artist at work here....

Beautiful video - you must get SO bored of hearing that, but I can't think what else to say. It's like the best photographs; words are kind of redundant.

  • @Horacechicken Thanks for the kind words Horacechicken really appreciate it :)

  • Scotland's land mass is 30, 978 square miles, with a population of around 5.2 million the Greater Glasgow conurbation, with a population of almost 1.2 million, is home to nearly a quarter of Scotland's population. Hence many parts of Scotland are not overly populated. Perhaps this is a hidden gem, far from the madding crowd and the ideal des res for anyone with a will to make it habital.

  • @cosmicordering1 It could be but i'd love for Scotland to remain the way it is with great scenary only a short trip from the cities. I'd hate for the wilderness to be changed for more people to inhabit the country.

  • @AbandonedScotland I agree, I too love Scotland the way it is.

  • Great video... thanks for sharing!

  • @w4mms Thanks for commenting and saying so :)

  • Beautifully filmed, atmospheric, awe inspiring . .

  • @graemefield01 Thanks graeme, appreciate it :)

  • Great, great job. When was this shot? Is the place still standing? So hard to find out without making the two hour drive there.

  • @SciFiAssasin Yeah it's still there, we went 3 weeks ago it was. They are unable to knock it down due to bats living in it.

  • @AbandonedScotland Really? The bats saved it?

  • @SciFiAssasin Yeah for the time being although once the bats move out they'll probably knock it down, it's worth a visit though if your thinking of going.

  • @AbandonedScotland I've been a couple of times...I put a video up on my whiteminibus channel two years ago, called Pollphaill-The Empty Village. There's a bit of dicking about at the start though.

  • @SciFiAssasin That's cool! I'll make sure to check it out :)

  • I love your style, nice work!

  • @logolou Thanks Lou :)

  • Wow, amazing!

  • @snowwhitebeautyful Cheers snowwhitebeautyful, glad you enjoyed it :)

  • Good job. I do like a bit of urbex now and again.

  • @onlywhenpissed Cool, what places have you visited Lou?

  • @AbandonedScotland too many to mention, a couple are on my channel, the brick works in Wales is pretty good.

  • Love your kind of filming and the music on the video.Wonderful!

  • even thought no lived there with the music it looks as if it could be haunted. I hope they find a good use for the land. It looks like it could be a beautiful place.

  • You guys are totally ready to start making major motion pictures!

  • @ipfeldspar Haha not sure if we're quite there yet! Thanks for saying so :)

  • Great video - should make some short movies .

Music suits too ! Excellent choice .

  • @ephemeraworld Yeah I might have a look into some short movies in the future :)

  • great atmosphere!

  • I've been there, my mate has a cottage just round from there near the marina. Hated walking through all the bat shit.

  • @steffmcmullan Nice one Steff, yeah there is quite a bit of that about. Although I think the sheep are the culprits :-P.

  • Beautiful work!

  • lovely sad shots and atmospheric music - yours?

  • @seanoneillsongs The music is by The Eternal Twilight check them out, link is in the description :)

  • Amazing! Great editing. Looks like an intro for some zombi/end-of-the-world movie!

  • Amazing! Great editing. Looks like an intro for some zombi/end-of-the-world movie!

  • Keep up the good work and it will go Viral!

  • That's a very well done video ..

    Showing a fascinating place.

    Thankyou. :-)

  • Thanx 4 the update. Another great one.

  • Amazing film! I love go to explore abandoned buildings during rain storm!! :)

    Keep it up!!

  • Your artistic exploration of these rain shrouded ruins reminds one of Wordsworth being moved by the melancholy remains of Tintern Abbey. My favorite shots are the ones of the rusted hooks with keys to nowhere and the decaying book of Keats' poetry. Your interpretation of that subject is visual poetry in itself.

  • It's kinda creepy a little bit! ^o^

    Beautiful video!

  • Driving wind and pouring rain, welcome to summer in Scotland :(

  • Have to say, I love your filming and rendering/editing style. Very artistic ;o)

  • @RMackphotography Thanks Ross :)

  • Awesome Camera Angles. Brilliant Editing with Great music. Fantastic Film.

Unbelievable that it was never occupied. I hope someone will decide what to do with it one day? Thumb'd and Faved 5/5

    Tam

  • Definately another "like"

    Hazel

  • My goodness this is beautiful. The music haunting, atmospheric & film is superb! Going to Amazon later today with todays list of music & hope this is there. Thanks for providing links in video description. Yep, I strongly believe in supporting musicians work & rarely dl music for free.

Needless to say you have my thumbs up but ought to be given a youtube Oscar and composer the Galactic Award For Best Music! <3 AC

  • very nice excellent work

  • Another great video, AS.

Someone mentioned St. Kilda. I'd like to see what you might make of it. Any thoughts?

  • @cpome7 Yeah I'd love to visit St. Kilda at some point it looks like a great visit. There's some amazing old houses up there.

  • again another great video in the series..love the videos, really well filmed n edited etc, great.

  • Excellent video . Need to get my bones out and start exploring with my camera.

  • Excellent stuff as usual.

I'll need to look this little place up now as I never knew it existed. I was interested in St'Kilda for a little while too :)

  • really haunting and atmospheric, there's a profound melancholy about a town that has never reall had a history because it was never inhabited. This film conveys the folly of human ambition in the face of the relentless forces of nature. The ethereal Eternal Twilight soundtrack is perfectly suited to the visuals. Well done.

  • One thing i like with your videos, is that it makes you touch the fragility of man's constructions, and how easy it is for them to melt back to nature.

    Really good work

  • Brilliant Video! thanks mate!

  • Good lord, such amazing angles and shots. You have some serious talent.

    <3

  • Artistic use of still and pan shots. Nice.

  • As always, incredible.

  • I'd give my right arm to be able to take videos like this video and all the others on this site. Superb work in capturing the loneliness and art of decay. By the way, I live in southern California, but I have been in Scotland . . . what a beautiful place.

  • @giaruso Really appreciate the comment giaruso, yeah Scotland is a beautiful country with so many unseen sights and parts to our history.

  • Implosive!!!!!

  • Nice video! I like the ambiance of it :)

  • @bsidez Thanks bsidez :)

  • oh wow!! very very nice video, this sound track is deadly, it goes right with this video!! awsome awsome awsome!!! 5*****

  • @MetalDudz Thanks the music is by The Eternal Twilight, you should check them out :)
