@Siasabora: Please send me these scientific studies.
I live in Germany and I know beer is even cheaper than bread here, and there are at least 5,000 brands of beer, or even more. But people are so disciplined about it.
What we lack in Kenya is a sense of national discipline about many things that people must have discipline to achieve. I think we are damned if we do, damned if we don't.
National discipline comes with good leadership, strict observance of the law and a sense of commitment
@2190g1 i live in sweden and here alchohol is prohibited by law.You can't go and buy liquor just like that. There are specialised shops owned by the local goverments that sell alcohol and you must be over 18 to buy and its a must you show ID no matter how wrinkled your face is.The alcohol in ordinary shops is just 2,8% vol and costs about 700 ksh for a 300ml six pack. But this doesn't prevent people from smuggling liqour from other places like Germany where its cheap.
@chaimoto Legalizing local brews is the only solution out of this problem. This is a scientifically proven fact that this will make Local Brew industry surface from the underground and therefore reduce the consumption of dangerous liquor. America during the 1920s had tough alcohol prohibition laws that caused all sorts of social problems. If you want i can send you many scientic studies proving this. If you go to germany you will find almost every county has its own brand reduces number of minors
legalizing local alcohol is a disaster. we are we going backwards instead of marching a head. in the 1970s when local brews were legal, parents spend all the time chasing booz. children were left to fent for themselves. no development, people spend all the limited resorces buying booz, prostitution was high, crime was high, public intoxication was high. whoever is proposing this idea has no interest in the welfare of our nation. it is a disaster. what is wrong with this kibaki government?

Why is it that there is market for the so called 'substandard' liquor in Central province?Having travelled widely in Kenya, i have noted that people from central province have problem with alcohol.
