I actually really liked Funny People. I think the trailer is good by itself, but as an ad for the movie, it's a bit misleading. Rather than a riotous, side-splitting comedy, it's more of a nuanced and emotional dramedy and a very personal homage to the world of stand-up comedians. Great cast, too.

This movie is amazing. The message and the whole plot development leading to it is striking. It isn't a too cool for reality blockbuster, but it's a damn shame if you don't see it. It's an emotional thrill-ride patched together with enough side-splitting comedy to keep you laughing and relating to the story the whole way through. I haven't seen something this well orchestrated in a long time.
