They aren't speaking because it would require shutting down the entire industry. Near Accidents Happen 100's of X's a day. Airplane Landing is Horrific Pilots are Worried. Engines on these Airplanes are getting old risk of failing is 20% all the time.

It actually happened at SBRJ (Santos Dommond Airport ) - Rio de Janeiro - Brazil. A taxi driver runned behind a 737 and was pushed away to the waters of the Guanabara Bay.

While a 737 was landing on that same runway...

I wish pilots got paid what they use to get paid, you'd be lucky to be making 20grand as a new pilot these days and 40k if you 20 years of experience. Pilots use to get paid 100grand with 20 years experience, you wonder why pilots couldn't give a shit about their job anymore, and play their laptops instead of paying attention

i cannot see how a faulty valve could be blamed for fuel leaking in the ltest news stories on aviation issues. for me its a case of parts become faulty because they have not been thouroughly examined and properly serviced or somebody is upto something evil to purhousely cause harm. how often are aircraft fuel tanks cleaned of debris? my biggest fear is terrorist have positions in aviation maintaince jobs and are sabotaging aircraft. we must videotape all maintainance for record via helmet cams

there has been an icreasing number of stories of fumes in cockpit in the news lately and it is happening more often than what seems normal. I am affraid and worried that there are terrorists/criminals working in aviation technician jobs and the people who are servicing the planes are upto something bad. we must make sure that security is increased at aviation service hangars and all carried out maintaince is video tapes. all maintaince workers must wear helmet cameras by law for safety

FAA needs to do more instead of serving the interests of profits for flight schools, etc. FAA needs to make mandatory the following in all light aircraft:

1) portable collision avoidance system (PCAS).

2) BRS parachute

3) Amsafe airbags

4) Terrain awareness moving map GPS.

Adequate vision is required, through corrective glasses & lenses if your eyesight isn't good enough. Further more, colour blindness and can pose a risk

Nice question. The main reason most of people want to become pilots are buried within your part of the brain that constitutes your Ego. It has to do with how you look at your self, and how you want other people to look at you. The reason a pilot is regarded as professional is because of the highly advanced training andt the responsibility you have while being a flight crew member. And by the way, after investing 100K in your education, you would be stupid not to act and behave professional.

In Manchester (UK) they're trialing a new system to reduce runway incursions using the marker beacon recievers in airliners. After going over a holding point an aural warning can be heard.
