Your problem is that this is true for almost every nation. Bulgarians are slavized thracians, south Germans (and especially Austrians) are germanized celts, French are latinazed celts, Swedish are mostly Swedenized finns, Turks are Turkisized greeks and the list goes indefinitely. I think almost every nation was assimilated at some point in history by another one and became something else. As A Canadian I took a Trip to Bosnia, Montenegro and Albania. And from what I saw the people in Montenegro and Albania are very much so different in terms of their language, culture and how they look. It was like night and day. Montenegrins looked very much so European and many of them quite Slavic I saw many with blond/ash hair and light colored eyes. On the other hand, I saw many Albanians that I could swear if I hadn't known otherwise I would have thought they were middle Eastern.
