@umair1001 They are called safety shots. When it is not possible (or very hard) to pot a red, the aim of a shot like that is to make it hard for your opponent on their next shot. It takes precise aim to put the white close to the cushion far away from the reds. Also, it takes some effort to respond to a good safety shot with another safety shot. :)

Hendry and Robertsons shots where they flick the red to clear the way for the black are the best of this bunch of shots. That is, assuming that the flicks on the red were intentional, which I do. Difficult to say which is better as Hendry has the distance, but Robertson had such a little margin of error with the black covering 3 quarters of the red. Surprising that they're both not winning tournaments with the level of play they reach.

@luffaren91 Let's say you're at the table and you have to hit a red but you're stuck behind a color (let's say yellow). Basically you have to hit one of the reds in order not to foul and giving points to your opponent.

Those shots were great escapes because after playing it, there wasn't any ball the opponent could play for and pot.

Hendry has so many Titles because ronnie didn`t play when he won most of his titles. If Ronnie played in the time with hendry he hasn`t a half of his Title. Hendry is a great player but every one who now a little bit about snooker believe ronnie has more skill
