  • a quarter of 195,000 pounds is still 48 thousand reps... that a lot..

  • i weigh 500 pounds and i cant even reach my door frame, it doesnt really help me

  • This is so ridiculous. The username is "BeachbodyVideo"....... who's chin up bar do you think they are going to say is better? Biased shit.

  • the P90X bar won't fit in my doorframe. the irongym does. I only weigh 150.

  • I don't care about how much the iron bar can hold. I care about how much my door frame can hold

  • lol.. what a biased video

  • theres no point doors cant hold that much weight anyways....

  • misleading title, i was not looking for a p90x advertisement i was looking for a honest review, there is more to consider than just weight it can take

  • if you weighed 500 pounds your arms would fall off if you tried to do a pull up

  • iron gym to me is the best bang for the buck but then again i got my for only 6 bucks

  • This video is not biased at all.

  • ok. if anyones over 300 pounds. which is iron gyms max capacity weight.. they would want to do cardio exercises like running... not pullups. so...... ya.

  • I had to get an original style Iron Gym because the only door in my house that has the right kind of trim frame to support a chinup bar of this type is a closet. The P90X one seems great but there is no way it would have fit in the limited space I have. Iron gym is working fine after about a year too.

  • this is dumb. who the hell is 500 lbs and doing pullups

  • I love how they Say absolutely nothing about how well it works no shit the p90x holds 500lbs it's got actually screws and the iron gym has like fake ones and duh the iron gym don't hold 500lbs it says it can only hold 300lbs and still if you weigh 500lbs you shouldn't try any like this instead try a surgery duh

  • the funny part is that i dont ge the ideea? what? :)) so why is this better ? because it rezist more? wtf

  • the funny part is that i dont ge the ideea? what? :))

  • This might be a dumb question but where can i get a P90X one ASAP?? i bought a P90X and forget to get one. is it possible to get one at Walmart? thats where i got my P90X..please help!! i dont wanna have to wait a while to start up again

  • @1amRy4n don't listen to this^^ its an advertisement no better than the other one

  • idk a lot of people seem to have had good experiences w/ the iron gym, but if the p90x bar is actually stronger i'd rather have that. I weigh only 210 and i had a bolt snap on mine. When I looked around for replacement bolts, I found that a ton of other people also had the same problem. I haven't looked up the same thing for the the p90x bar though, so maybe it has it's own issues idk...

  • I have owned the Iron Gym for 2 years now and so far it is still working fine and thats constant use by 4 people

  • type chin up fail and click on the 1st vid... that thing fails

  • a 400-500lb guy would be choked to death by his own fat before he could do one pullup.

if you want to outdo your successful compeditors, try lowering the price before you do a bunch of rediculous and unreal tests.

  • what fatass 400lb dude is going to be doin a total of 195,000 pull ups. ill keep my iron gym

  • man i weigh about 230lbs is that ok?

  • LOL they show the tests for the p90x but not the iron gym. I personally have an Iron Gym Extreme and it works. it does say the max weight it can hold is 250lbs but thats only for safety. im 178lbs and no structural damage, no binding nothing.

  • @TiredSouls was yours easy to put together? mine im trying to put the 2 pieces that make the long piece and i cant get it past the metal tab..its one of those put in then screw type. i tried everything...the rubber foams is definitely not static anymore i ripped those off trying

  • i think for p90x your paying for the brand not for what you get.

  • Luckily, I weight 140, not 500.

  • notice that none of the tests they did were on a door flame?

  • by the way where's the video of iron gym FAILING HUH? the only fail I see is beachbody trying to lie LOL. beachbody has good products but this video is just low.

  • it's all about the door not the machine -_- thus the "difference" is invalid.

they just know they got owned because the iron gym is cheaper.

  • This is only tryna get people to buy the other one. if you're thin buy the iron gym for sure!if you're fatt then loose some weight then buy the iron Gym xD

  • yea no door frame can hold up 500 pounds it would break they just do this to sell their product.

  • I am well over 500lbs. After using the iron gym pullup bar, i found that it would begin to sag under my extreme weight. Just after 10 reps I found the bars to be unusable. I am so happy I bought the p90x pull up bar. Now I can do hundreds of pullups without the bar breaking. :)

  • @xAbre1200 hahah wooot u got that strong in such a little time

  • @xAbre1200 DUDE do p90x and ppost it cuz if u go from 500 to 2 something it'll be epic

  • @xAbre1200 lol no offense, but a well over 500 pound man doing hundreds of pullups???

  • dude that is why they are doing a static load test to see if after multiple usage!! it will withstand years of use!!

  • Whatever, I use my Iron Gym bar 3 times a week with no problem.

  • if you're 500 pounds then i think your door frame would break before the pull up bar

  • @TheLonelyHappyMeal absolutly right lol, video is marketing bullshit

  • The irony is, on amazon, there are bad reviews for the p90x as a shoddy piece of kit compared to good ones for the iron gym.

  • Do any of you guys realize that they are talking about the Iron Gym EXTREME, not the REGULAR Iron Gym? It has all the grips and positions that the P90X bar has, and it's available for 1/3 less of the price. Of course these jerks are going to promote the P90X bar, because of something called a "bias."

  • @XFS540 Is that why all the pull up bars in the video looked the same? I was getting confused.

  • @wafflecushioned Nah actually the P90X Bar is black (as you may see at :19) and the Iron Gym Extreme is gray (as you may see at :30).

  • the only reason the p90 is better is because of more grips.

  • I had both of these bars and I would only recommend the p90x bar...why? because the quality is so much better and it lets you do a wider range of chin ups and pull ups..on the Iron Gym you can't do wide grip, it wedges in the door...the p90x bar pulls out a bit so you can change your grip to wide

  • I think the point they are trying to make is that the Beachbody pullup bar is over designed and will therefore be that much safer and reliable. Just a thought.

  • yeah, but my door frame wasn't built to hold 500lbs. of fatass.

  • @sh4ne LOL!

  • too bad my doorway is too big to fit this

  • what idiots these guys are, im going to buy an iron gym now for sure

  • Well I don't weight 500 pounds and the Iron Gyms cheaper and I can get the iron gym at walgreens and I don't know or care about where I can get the P 90-X bar.

  • iron gym own's p90x just for the price, and however, why would you buy a chin up bar that holds that weight for 30$ more if you are just like 180 pounds? this comercial sucks ass

  • lmao 400 pounds.. at that point you shouldn't be worried about the bar, should be worried about the door frame.

  • @Andrewsonfire

At 400 lbs I think the thing to start worrying about is your diet!

  • iron gym extreme is $25 at Ross, if you can find it.

  • both are the same

  • I found the P90X Bar at Amazon for $74.80, The Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar - Extreme is $25.54 at Wal-Mart.

  • iron gym is fine!

  • I weigh 140....I think the Iron gym would be just fine for me, thanks P90X, for showing that I don't need to buy your expensive shit to get a good product ^_^

  • @GrandMaster428 You can get the p90x for 20$ at ebay NEW!

  • notice they dont have a video of the iron gym bar getting tested

  • the arch, i think it was the single most greatest invention back in the rome days.

  • i know, a 500lb man wouldn't be able to do pull ups with puny arms. he'd just break the door frame. lol

  • lol listen to the statistics at between 38 and 50 seconds into it. Do the math there basically saying that the Iron Gym bar could ONLY do a quarter of what the p90x bar could do. Which amounts to more than 46000 reps if you weigh 400 pounds. If I weigh 400 pounds and I did a 100 reps a day , it would last me more than 8 years!!!!! And it's half the price of the p90x bar!!!!!! lol I love beachbody and all but I'd take this video off if I was them.

  • the only reason i would get the p90x pull up bar over the iron gym is becuase it has wide grips, my iron gym has wide grips too but the are too close to the fram of the door and my elbow hits it when i start struggling, very annoying

  • what 500 pound person can do a pullup anyway?

  • you thats messed up.. thats ignorance right there bro.. im 250 pounds and i can do 2 pull ups

  • @grasseline RRROOOFFFLL

  • @grasseline lol, ye

  • @grasseline Some professional wrestler maybe? : /

  • @Re1Mu2R3 or Casey Heynes.....

  • iron gym fails/ show it?:d

  • this is kinda stupid.. the iron gym works great, ive had one for about a yr now and its extremely durable. besides who cares if it can hold 500 pounds, da iron gym is still gonna give u the same results. and tbh, i cant imagine alot of 500 pound ppl doing pull-ups "/

  • @soccerplay3r08 and i can't see any building difference between the 2 bars....

  • they hella copyed the iron gym but all they really did was add some extra grips that you dont need and its can support 500 pounds big deal noone that big can even jump a inch

  • @learber u can do assisted pullups

if u can walk up a stairs u can do an assisted pullup

    SMART ONE!!!

  • what kind of guy is 500ibs doing p90x anyways

  • I like P90X, but I'd have to go with the Iron Gym one on this. It's just much cheaper, and the majority of us out there who exercise don't weigh much more then 220 lbs, rendering the 500 pound capacity useless.

Sorry Beachbody, but I think you lose this one.

  • lol im sorry if your 500 pounds and you can do a pull up there is something wrong

  • @PAC0TAC0 ya any1 over 300 lbs couldn't do a pull up.

  • lol exactly why it dosent matter if it can support 500 lbs or 300lbs all it needs to support is 250 lol

  • I've been using the Iron Gym for 6 months and it is still very secure. If I weigh 175lbs, why do I care that my Iron Gym can't support 500lbs? This is where Beachbody starts to look bad. They have to find a way to put down the competition. Are they not making enough money with the P90X program, the bands, the drinks, the $90 yoga mats, etc... Man o man, talk about greed

  • even if what they say is TRUE that means the iron gym bar does 400lbs 50,000 times average plp change their pullup bars after a year so with iron gym over 4 years you save 40$ enough to buy a fith iron gym, so unless you are 400lbs and you are going to 50,000 reps within the year i guess you can buy the more expensive p90x bar.

  • still iron gym fan and theirs the iron gym extreeme. ofcourse this commercial would make iron gym look bad

  • well im 210 and the iron gym works fine for me

  • i have the iron gym xtreme, which looks EXACTLY the same as the p90x one, all the various hand grips, etc. idk if they were testing the regular iron gym or the iron gym xtreme. but its been working good so far.

  • come on now their knocking the iron off market and plus if u do workouts from p90x and use the iron u should start to loose weight and the iron wins haha much cheaper

  • I got the iron gym :S

    damn

  • why didn't they show the testing of the Iron Gym chin up bar?

  • now thanks to p90x and this commercial I have decided to buy theiron gym!

    cuz' i'm nowhere near 400lbs.!

cuz' i'm not planing on doing 200,000 reps!

and above all that..... the iron gym is cheaper!

    thanks p90x! =D

  • @waflikky2

Exactly! Im going to use the iron gym. This whole concept is Ridiculous. If you're 500 lbs, you wouldn't be able to do 1 pull up let alone 200,000

  • yeah but you will also find that the p90x is valuable becuase of the many different ways to grip, unlike the iron gym which has max of maybe 2-3

  • both are joke and lame. doorframe bars can suck, good bars must allow good free space in all directions for moves like commando pullups or muscle-ups

  • thats not a valid reason for them to "both suck"

  • according to them iron gym does 1/4 of 195000=48750 reps at 400 lbs. Simple logic says 200lb = 97500 reps. Thats 270 reps everyday for 1 yr.... Good luck!

  • fucking who the hell is going to do it with 400 pounds p90 can fuck its self

  • its not that hard.

    im 285.

now if a body biuldier thats over 6ft and is already biult and wants to use it, you looking at past 25 stone, so yeah close to 400 pounds.

  • @Mathewmartialart im weight 285 also and i want a chin up bar

the iron gym one says it holds 300lbs

but i saw on a vid where a kinda skinny guy using it and that shit was squeaking and bending a lil bit

wich do u have and is it worth it?

cuz i dont have a credit card to buy the beachbody one

  • the iron gym if you look at the design, is limited to the functions that it can do, plus as stated and shown in the video it didnt last long either.

now as you will likely know if your planning on biulding muscles, muscle does weigh so would you want to risk going over 300lbs and breaking the iron gym or be able to do several moves with the p90x and biuld as much muyscle as you wish without concern.

  • ive just gained the p90x which is also called the mediacarn pull up door gym. I have foudn that becuase i havent done weights in over 2 years i have no strength in my arms or upper body so i found ti hard to do 1 pull up, yet when i hung there the thing didnt budge.

subscribe to my channel as i will be doing a video on it, amongst many other subjects

  • @mrfrosty8172 its because of his door frame smart one

  • @learber no he probobbly didnt tighten the screws all the way

    i recently bought the p90x chin-up bar

    its really good

(but a friggin pain to put the screws on)

they give u a small tool to tighten the ends

but u have to use another tool to stop the other end from spinning

so u have use two small weirdly shaped tools to tighten both ends at the same time

but once u screw everything in tight it doesnt bend or move around

  • @mrfrosty8172 Where did u buy it and how much?

  • i got it off of the beachbody website

it cost $65 but since i chose express shipping it cost $80

but it came in 5 days

and again its a real pain to put it together

but is really study, u will damage ur doorframe before u even start to damage the bar

  • Thanks for the info, one last question, how much do you weigh? Im at 275, will it be okay?

  • @chsthewall if ur mostly muscle then i dont know

but if ur mostly fat like me (285lb)

then u will be using a chair to do assisted pull-ups

and depending how much weight u put on that chair then thats a lot less pressure on the bar

also the p90x info card thing it comes with says not to exceed 300lbs

the bar that rests above the door frame squeaks (i think cuz of the paint)

    and since i use a small door(closet)

the lower grips rest on the door frame and make small indentions

  • Ok well thanks again for the info.

Im staring P90X today at 5pm

  • i weigh 250.. honestly im not all fat .. i believe , and people have told me i dont look all fat... but my my house is pretty old .. about 15 years old and not sure if my frame will hold... do you suggest me taking an alternative or using a chair.. or getting the pull up bar that i have to screw into and stuff??

  • try out the bands if it's to sketchy i woulndt know where you would tie them though to get the pull up resistance

  • we rent this house it is old as crap and theres cracks in the ceiling w nails coming through

and above the door frame there are even cracks

honestly i dont know mabye u would be better off with the bands i might even buy them soon

sometimes when doing the assisted pull-ups u get tired and put more weight on the chair, and then u dont feel it in ur back so i think bands would be great if ur worried about the doorframe

I dont own any bands but i might buy some soon

  • @Mathewmartialart

yeah, but thats less than .001% of the population

  • are you talking about a certain country or the world, becuase if you even look at the worlds strongest men they can easily topple 350lbs in weght.

  • this is being advertised to normal people for the most part. who do not weigh that much. and beside i highly doubt big fat people will be doing pull ups

  • well show us the results then, where are they cause I could say alot of thing too like my chest got 2 times bigger on Iron gym on p9x my lat didn't even grow. Until then this is not going to make you sell better, I would still buy Iron gym cause its cheaper, and oh yeah not everyone has the perfect door frame for the chin up bars like your "lab"

  • haha they don't even show the iron gym with wieghts. Also I rather buy the inexpensice one not that piece of shit

  • 50,000 reps with 400lbs sounds very good to me. They just inadvertently endorsed the iron gym as a great product. I'll never be anywhere near 400lbs & at a fraction of the price, I'm going with The iron gym. Thanks P90X!

  • @iiwatcher P90X bar has more grips

  • @mrfrosty8172 Iron Gym Extreme also has all the extra grips needed, at a fraction of the cost. Sorry, but P90X inadvertently demonstrated why Iron Gym is preferable: Way cheaper, same workout, & 50,000 reps @ 400lbs is more than enough for anyone who doesn't suffer from gigantism. I've had mine for 3 years, w/o a hitch. P90X is simply overpriced & overrated w/ flawed exercise physiology principles. Bottom line: no one needs to pay a lot of money to get fit or even gain a lot of muscle!

  • @iiwatcher LOL That's funny, you're right...

  • @iiwatcher your last line...that was a great laugh

  • @detroituntilidie You mean "no one needs to pay a lot of money to get fit or even gain a lot of muscle! " Really? That was a great laugh? Why? Please explain bc I only give you 1...count 'em 1 chance to show me you're not an IDIOT. Then I destroy you!

  • @iiwatcher i was just gona ask how much the p90x's version was till i saw ur comment. i actually finished assembling mine (Iron gym bought at walmart)and i dont thin ill ever be 500lbs!! im 150. if i reach 500lbs, jumping off a bridge will be my only remedy!

  • @louie000007 LOL!

  • i have the iron gym and theres nothing wrong with it. before using it i couldn't climb a rope and after 3 days of using it i coulld climb the rope with ease. theres nothing wrong with the iron gym the results are just as great and its way cheaper

  • straight honest, i hate beachbody and p90x because of the corporate bastards trying to get money. not saying their products suck, they're pretty good, its just they defiantly overpriced this piece of crap bar. and i was gonna buy their DVD set to test it out. so i looked at the price around Dec. 01 and the price was about 70$, once it got closer to christmas, they doubled the price which was when i was gonna buy it, so even when the price deflates, i refuse to buy any of their products.

  • Are you saying the Iron Gym did 50,000 reps at 400 lbs ? !?!?!

  • well ofcourse to sell your product your going to make the other product look weak and not worth it.

i remember when iron gym came out, they use to do the same. JUst advertising your product

  • Yeah I just bought the iron gym extreme and it works great... i see no point in paying the extra money to get this thing. I got the iron gym extreme on sale for 30 dollars... All I wanted the extreme version was to do those wide grip pullups which you can't on the regular iron gym version.

  • Can you tell me where it is being on sale for 30? I've been looking into getting the xtreme for the same reason. Thanks

  • I bought it at dunham's sports (you may not of ever heard of it they only exist in the midwest region like Michigan, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, etc.) I used a 25% off coupon that dunham's gave me from making a previous purchase there. You can do the same there and buy anything from the store and they'll give you the 25% off of any item on the back of your receipt. Hope this helps you out man.

  • lol, I agree with the people here saying 500+ lbs you won't be even able to do one pull up....seems like a way to try to knock the Iron Gym more then anything....not to mention, IG you can do other things like dips, push ups and sit ups....

  • @MKF30 and the door frame will break maybe but maybe not idk

  • I've had mine(Iron Gym) now for 2 months almost, nothing has broke ;) as long as you have a standard inch door frame with the normal length bar you buy for Iron Gym or this, you should be fine which is 26-32 inches, Iron Gym however comes with an offer for 8 bucks for a bar extender if your door is larger from 36-40 inches(some people have this, most don't)

:) I don't know if the P90X Chin up bar comes with extra options however...

  • If your 500lb you wont be able to do a fucking pull up any way save 30$ and buy the Iron Gym It works great check out my Vids

  • im 13 years old and in wrestling in middle school 7th grade. last i made it 2 the last match 2 get into states and lost it. and that was without wieghtlifting. i bought the iron gym. i weigh exacly on the scale 152.4. im trying to get stronger. (a whole lot stronger) if any1 could help. i need a summary of how many reps of pull ups. push ups. setups. a day. if any1 could help that would be amazing

  • not sure if this would help but i used to do about 15 pull ups at best, plus 35 pushups, all i did was keep repeating(pull ups, then push ups, then pull ups, then push ups, etc.)but as many times as i could till i couldnt do any more, probably about 3 to 4 sets of each, i notice every week i was doing at least 1 more pull up and maybe 3 more push ups, now im up to 23 pull ups, and 65 pushups(nonstop). Not to mention i was eating healthy, hard work and perseverence pays off you know.=)

  • P90x one is $60 dollars and the iron gym is $30. Plus I'm pretty sure someone who weighs 500 lbs wouldn't even be trying to do a pull up in the first place...

  • I know its a pretty strange statement, but im assuming they are trying to say that it will last a lot longer than a couple of years if youre on a regular program. Strange thing is, in the UK these 2 bars are a similar price, around £20 - £30

  • were in the uk do they sell the p90x in england

  • Well I saw it in Westcliff, Essex in a store called Fitness

  • They don't I had to get mine off ebay and it turned out to be a pirate. But it was a good pirate hehe. Let me know if you find out where to get an official one

  • @ilovepies245 most people pirate that shit on the net

  • I have owned the Iron Gym extreme since February, and between me, my brother, sister and brother in law using it it still works fine

  • I HAVE IRON GYM SHIT IS AMAZING

  • hell yea me!!!!

only a fat ass bitch who can do more than 1,000 reps at once would break the iron gym,

  • did u have any problems with it? i wanna get one for myself

  • i dont weigh 500 pounds though :/

  • haha.. yeh is abit biased this video..

  • so true. If you way over 400 lbs, you must either be a real fatass or the biggest lineman in history.

  • ahah considering the company who made this advertisement is OWNED BY P90X obviously they try to favor P90X...I own a Iron Gym, its great, plus my uncle who weights 500lbs did chin ups on it, it holds up great!

  • i weight 285 pounds. and believe it or not I can do about 20 pull-ups. I also own an iron-gym. I think the iron-gym is holding up just fine. the box it came in said that it was designed to handle 300 lbs. I can't imagine anybody weighting more than 400 pounds doing pull-ups anyway.

  • this is the biggest bs ive ever seen. first off i weigh 500lbs and i have no trouble using the iron gym. Plus they dont even show them testing the iron gym there just like ''We just tried adding 500lbs to the iron gym and it couldnt take the pressure" yell if they actually showed people maybe we would believe it.

  • you weigh 500 pounds and you're doing pullups?

  • There is a metal clip that attaches the bar to the upper door frame, sh4dow.

Personally, I own an iron gym chin-up bar that I use with P90X, and it works great.

  • the most important thing is hardly ever discussed - safety! i just don't see how either the p90x or the iron gym bar could not slip off the frame.

  • si la puerta no tiene molduras tanto en la parte superior como en los laterales, este aparato se cae y puedes sufrir accidentes que pueden ser muchos mas severos y pueden enviarte al hospital.

  • lmao wut a lame review....i own a iron gym pull up bar....and first of all wut 500 pound man can get himself off his feet with just his hands...seriously its made for something that wont b relle needed...iron gym does the trick....if ure 500 pounds..take baby steps until u run out more then half that shit then use the iron gym u dumass

  • i own an iron gym bar and will be purchasing a p90 bar for one reason. for wide grip pullups your forarms smack or rest against the door frame. thats why they have the extra wide grip bar on the p90 version.

  • id like to see a 500 pound man do a pull up or even hang for 1 sec. WTF

  • wow I usually love beachbody and their products but this video is garbage to push an overpriced product. Who weighs well over 500 pounds and does P90X or pullups for that matter?! Are you really gonna do 200,000 reps of pullups in one set? Get real guys, the iron gym rocks. I personally don't know anyone that uses the P90X chin up bar. We all use the Iron gym because it's cheap effective does the job and even works as push up stands and a sit up bar.

  • iron gym iz D SHIT
