This is nothing compared to seeing him live. He really owns the stage. One small show (100 people) I went to had Rick Parfitt from Status Quo in the audience and you can tell the respect for this guy comes from everyone, famous or not.

Actually, this IS "playing the guitar." No, he's not playing it in a conventional way we're accustomed to, but he's playing it anyway. If you don't think so, then what else is he playing? It's simple, but he does such a good job. He's fun to watch. I liked it, and apparently his audience did too.

I've seen him do this live in concert. All the sounds are produced on his guitar. He had a special pickup made that is inside the guitar that allows him to create the amazing percussion sounds.

Just saw Tommy for the first time ever in person a few hours ago in Aurora Illinois... absolutely amazing! The man plays 330 shows a year... gotta give him some credit. All his songs from his past few albums were written in hotel rooms, backs of taxi cabs, in air ports, and place like that. A true legend.

nah, why would that spot get 'worn and torn'? he uses it for the scratching sound, and he has rough patches like that on more than one of his guitars. he definitely did it himself.
