Sorry Alex, usually your facts line up and I appreciate that you and your folks do a lot of background checking. However, the Pentagon did not develop the barcode in 1984. The first UPC (the barcode most people are familiar with) was scanned in 1974 and that wasn't even the first barcode or one-dimensional code system.

It's funny how the dates of UPC and QR are both approx 10 years apart from 1984 though.
