i love everything about this video. i love how her harp obscures part of her face. it seems so appropriate given how the heartbreaking honesty of her performance and vocal inflections crashes up against the intentionally vagueness of the lyrics themselves. and then, in the bridge, the confession so simple we hardly ever dare to speak it: "i was blue / and unwell".

Let me make a prediction concerning Joanna. I have followed her for awhile now. I have read allot of the reviews on her about her child/old woman voice. I predict when Joanna gets another couple years older, we will see one of the most gratifying artists that's ever lived, rise to the spotlight. Many people like her already, including myself. Her songwriting is already brilliantly unique and moves ones spirit. Her voice will mature as time goes on and this young woman will amaze millions.

She plays with such amazing passsion, and that's not going to leave her, but as she gets more experienced she will learn to harness that passion and control it. I know everyone always wants to comment on her voice, but let me say this: Her pitch is perfect, literally. Most people just don't understand her style of singing.
