I work at the Raptor center where Spirit and Nova are kept, and they refer to Nova as War Eagle VII.

It must have been a typo in the programs.

Then the program is incorrect, typos happen. Nova is the official War Eagle VII - as stated earlier, per tradition, all War Eagles are Golden Eagles. Tiger was War Eagle VI. War Eagle VI was a golden eagle. When she was retired, we began using a bald eagle who, once known as "Spirit" is now our official War Eagle VII, also known as "Tiger." :)

I thought that we used "Nova" the golden eagle every now and then, especially during huge games. I know she was sick a little bit last year. Which one flew at the Miss State game? I'm in band so I rarely get to see the flights =[ Spirit has awesome flights though. Also, part of the reason I think she had such a good flight at the LA Tech game was because the handler didn't run out to the middle of the field til the last instant. War Eagle!
