@moondy11 Mate, if that happened, Australia would be a banana republic. Nothing but Indian and Chinese labourers like the British Empire days. That itself has an even less desirable effect than current immigration trends.
Ticket inspectors should better spend their time helping people move down the aisle instead of standing around at the gates waiting for an opportunity when some innocent person's ticket malfunctions. Big disgrace, and the main reason why our PT system fails IMHO.
We should point out that South Yarra is a wealthy suburb and mainly yuppies and the gay crowd use the train. The people who have grown up there hardly ever use public transport, they just drive.
We should also point out that most City stations are actually used for people transporting to work/school, and most people who use South Yarra station do not live anywhere near there.
Melbournians are clearly stupid commuters. There was plenty of room at each end of the carriage and people stood blocking the doors instead of moving fully inside the carriage. Also notice how inefficient Melbournians are? No one moved over to the side properly to let people out.
Well then would you like to explain how the transport system in larger cities works, especially considering the fact there is no one CBD in these cities, and people get on and off here and there?
Bahaha look at this dumbcunt, thinking that sydney is a massive city filled with millions of people, baah u have got one more mil then melbourne (soon to be overtaken). And u suddenly think the world is going to explode because you have got five million in ur city? bahahha, what the fuck do u think they do in London & NewYork u dumbass, stop overrating ur hole of a city and pull ur head in, typical shitney sider
I have previously yelled to people to move down the aisle. They didn't move down the aisle. I am sick of catching trains in Melbourne and missing them because of idiots who can't move down an aisle.
Authorised officers (more commonly known as ticket inspectors) should help facilitate the moving down the aisles of people.
In Sydney there is no way that train would be considered full. If people saw that oasis of space behind all those idiots blocking the door they would push and kill their way on. If Sydneysiders decided to wait for the next less crowded train the platform would become dangerously overcrowded. Its gotten to the point that during afternoon peak at Wynyard and Town Hall the departure time is counted to the second on the display screens and staff in orange vests quickly usher people into each door.
This is the way public transport should work in any city. Yet all the orange vested people do is take refuge inside their little office and yell out announcements through the PA. We don't need an announcement, the screens are fine enough!
i think that the state government and connex need to get off their LAZY butts and do something about this its stupid, i am so glad i dont have to travel on connex trains to go to school anymore! vline ftw!!! (although i dont get a seat they are still less crowded then connex trains)
they should learn some lesson from UK and Germany how good transport good there regardless the commute ratios. melb trains disguesting

Julia Gilard needs to stop flooding the cities with immigrants.

just because they are boarding a train in south yarra doesn't make them posh.. their destination could be frankston or dandy for all u know..

Who would go to South Yarra from Franggy or Broady or Dandy?
You need a passport unless you are doing a drug run!
uni000ver000sal 2 years ago
haha I used to do this every single day at South Yarra... on that precise platform!! memories...lol
People didn't believe me when I said I couldn't fit into the train so I had to wait for the next one and sometimes even the one after that...
I was always the last one in... squished up against the door hahahaa
