The 47 was there as the Swanage turntable is too short to allow a 'WC' to turn on it.. It hauled the train on the return journey, leaving Tangmere at Swanage returning tender-first to turn at Eastleigh
Marvellous to see the old beauty still running! Reminds me of my childhood in East Africa, going on 48 hour journeys on the narrow-gauge line from Dar es Salaam to Mwanza, hauled by British-made locomotives.
Great vid' why oh why do they always demean the loco's by putting that load of c&4p on the end of the rake? I would think that Tangmere has /had been more reliable in its life then that piece of junk.
I have some interesting video footage of Hamworthy railway station with an electric unit passing through such as you have never seen before. IT appears halfway through my photo montage. You can find it at "headstandking anthology 4" if you are interested.
I wish we have more style of locomotive running in my city, I live in California and im in Sacramento. We only have amtracks and lightrails....boring....lol
The last three railtours I've seen at Winchester have all been hauled by Tangmere.

You could try covering your camera mic with a piece old sock or a hankerchief to cut down on the wind noise. Good shot otherwise.

I do like your video - a real historical event.
