Hello Isa.. most students live directly on the Chico campus. There are several dorms and all are within walking distance to classes, libraries and students buildings. If you wish you could rent a nearby house and set up living in which you are most comfortable but I recommend the dorm life for the first semester, at least, to get to know people and establish important friendships. Chico has many good restaurants and is about 170 miles from San Francisco.
