@levi501ism Maybe. But if you haven't read it, you can accept Tyrone for this role but Bill Murray NEVER NEVER will be Larry (1984 remake). This is really an example of micasting!

@levi501ism I agree ,however, and I have read the novel, it needed a big star as Genes' leading man and it is difficult to see who else it could have been and Tyrone had just returned from the war in which I believe he had been a Pilot if I am not mistaken, which would have been accepted by the cinema going public of the time I guess.

@tallpaul521 Today is Genes birthday and I am watching all the wonderful tributes to Gene that have been uploaded since I first uploaded my own. The first youtubers' I found to upload any tributes to Gene where Mondbruder and Shanghibenny and thanks to them so did I,and now there are so many it is wonderful to see.

And Ty wasn't bad, either! Excellenet marriage of song-and clips - nicely done! There's a great-story, that Tab Hunter, who has been trying to produce her story as a movie, went to see a young,very-young production exectutive. When Tab tried to pitch the idea, this fellow said, "Gene Tierney? Oh, yeah, the prizefighter!" R.J.
