Just as I was getting used to hearing it being pronounced "les-trahd", I hear "les-strade" again and it makes me feel better.
Pardon my ignorance, but was this an American or British series?

@CharonTheSabercat Gielguld and Ralph Richardson were English , so I suppose they recodred it at the BBC radio.
I adore their voices and accents .
