I like this song better. The Japanese opening is good too, it just doesn't suit the animation as well. This song is more bold and dynamic, so it's a better fit.

They probably used the flanoir and heimdal scene where no one helps lloyd after mithos posseses him. That would be why zelos is still alive and kratos doesn't come back.

I know everybody hates the USA opening but I love it with a fiery passion. I think the music makes the opening scenes more dramatic. Motoi Sakuraba is sweet because he is the composer for this song and for most of the songs in Star Ocean: The Second Story, which is also an awesome game. I love the Tales games and those guys at namco are genuises.

Just think: after making 111 different songs for the game, the composer (Motoi Sakuraba) took the time to make us an opening unique to the english version. It's darn amazing if you ask me, and I think it's a beautiful song. I still like the Japanese OP as well, and I don't like to compare it to the US op. They're both great songs! So why not leave it at that? ^__^

US opening has more epic feel to it and indeed this is an epic game. Who ever thinks all the original JP versions are wrong.

This song is so much more EPICWIN than the Japanese version. It's all like... battle-y and whatnot.
Though I do like the other one too... it just gets annoying after a while.

Symphonia is my favorite tales game and i have to say that i like the english opening music much much better than the japanese vocalist music.

If TOS had the free-run for battles, it would be superior. It's still my favourite 'tales' game with TotA in second.

I like both the American and Japanese OPs to this game, but I prefer the American because it actually makes me WANT to play, whereas the Japanese version just gives me something cool to listen to.

Actually they are making a Tales of Symphonia anime that's going to come out in Japan next year. No word on it coming to America though.
