you can release home button as soon as the code starts to run on the device you DO NOT have to keep the home button held down, other than that good video.

After a long time of thinking about it I have jailbroken my ipod touch 2nd gen ios 4.2.1 You DO NOT need to hold the home button while it is jailbreaking though. If I did this I would have missed 2 phone calls because of holding the home button for 20 minutes!!!

@element4lifeyeah If you read the annotations, it says that you don't *have* to but it's recommended. When it's restored, there is less data and memory on the device. This makes the process go quicker. Less time = less time for the jailbreak to mess up. So it will most likely work restored but the odds aren't as assured with a non-restored device.

@Kevinpwnz You can rely on this for the unlock, but if you don't care about unlocking your phone, then I believe it is perfectly safe to jailbreak it. But, I would however, recommend you get a second opinion on this since I don't own the iPhone.

@polliejaynegchua You possibly didn't put your iDevice in DFU mode correctly, just follow along to my steps as I do them. If it still doesn't work, try restoring your iDevice then doing the jailbreak.

Great video, but you don't need to restore your iPhone to factory settings before doing this, and you don't need to hold the home button throughout the whole process. In the future, you will not need to use diskaid and the fixed loader files, this is only temporary, for the greenposi0n servers are currently down. Once they get back up, Loader app should work by itself without the help of diskaid and the loader app fix. Just a heads up for everyone to make this an easier process in the future!
