stop with all the critisms. are any of you pentathletes? well i am. and its not easy trying the practice 5 sports. there are lots of pentathletes that can ride really well - in fact, lots of pentathletes come from pony club tet. and that really wasnt the best ride to show. yes, there were falls, but these people are riding horse that they've known for TWENTY MINUTES. youre comparing them to showjumpers who have know their horse for years. So only two word for your comments: NOT FAIR.

2. They were whipped a lot more than what would have been allowed in pure jumping. A lot of them were lame and unfit. They'll try and tell you the horses pass vet checks, but some of the ones I saw wouldn't pass a vet at the lowest levels of pure jumping. A horse broke his neck and died at this year's Asian Games after crashing through a fence. I have watched pure jumping regularly for the past 20-years and never heard of a horse dying of such an injury. STOP the abuse - get rid of this phase!

1. What on earth?? A fall would have meant automatic elimination in pure show jumping on grounds of safety to horse and rider. Yet, this rider remounted!! The reason the horse was having none of it was because the rider hadn't a clue how to show jump properly. He was unbalanced, didn't have enough impulsion, and presented the horse wrongly. In fact, the welfare of the horses used in this sport hardly ever entered the equation.

Hm.....I always thought that olympic title is "Once and for all" so how come he "defend his title"? Isn't it better to say "claims the second one"?

i think my cousin was on my shetland before that but i wasnt there lol

hes only two and is like: i jumped that really high jump when really the pony just like stepped over a foot high pole lol

in the riding, those horses could not actually jump.

umm debatable, when I watched it I was sitting next to a european event rider, we both said the same things about how the horses could not jump. x

lol, mine r a bit like that, just popping a few fences that were up rly in most of them. I can never b bothered to get off nd change the heights, so i just jump whats up rly, so yesterday i had a few @ bout 80cm from the 4yo whod been jumping, then a few combinations @ 1.30m, but its rly good for him, coz it makes him think a bit more about what hes doin. coz if hes popping 90cm then comes up a 1.30m treble, it just keeps him thinking. x
